Scariest Moment of Your Life

The scariest time of my life was probably when I was young and had pneumonia. That was the sickest I've ever been and I don't remember exactly but I think I stayed in the hospital for a week or two, maybe longer. At first I was misdiagnosed with a cold and if we hadn't went to another doctor, I think I could have died.

As for particular moments, I can't really remember any.

Scariest moment? Oh boy...Probably when I was in the same hospital my friend died in and I was five paces from the actual room he passed away in. (ER bathroom, was waiting to be treated...God that was terrifying I was begging my mother not to trust them and whatever they said to not allow consent for surgery no matter what. I was crying so badly I thought they were going to murder me..)

Falling off my bike when i was 7. I was REALLY bloody and I even asked my dad: "dad, am I going to die?" when he was carrying me home.

And long story short, I did die.

I used to have kind of a tanatophobia, one night, I remember it was Easter Sunday, I just started fearing that I'm dying. I was like I can't breathe, my heart aches, I was sure I wouldn't wake up. For like half a year everytime I wanted to fall asleep I'd go through an absolute hell beacause I felt this irrational fear, I just couldn't concentrate on anything else than my sure to be close death. During the days everything was alright, but every night was a horror. It's gone now though and I can't remember any scary thing that happened to me, I'll try to remember something more. :)

When I was in a fight at school, and the kid I was fighting had me in a choke hold, I could almost feel myself looseing countiousnes, luckly a teacher stoped him befor I passed out. That is wat gave me the fear of being in a chokehold, and I got really scared when my bro and i were In a fight and he put me in a chokehold, the memories of everything blacking out hit me, but this time there was no one to stop him. I freaked out scared of passing out and dying, but cuz he's my bro, he realized what was going on and let go.

  • 1 year later...

Without a doubt my scarest moment would of been my first helicopter flight. I was doing hovering and was doing everything correctly and well...until the strongest cross wind flipped the helicopter to its side and we were hurtling towards the ground. I quickly gave the controls to the instructor and he leveled us out. It was extremely scary .-.

It is a bit of a toss up of when I was suspended and almost fired for some BS technicality and whenever I am called up to the checkstand (I was made a backup checker in addition to my duties as a dairy clerk against my wishes a few months ago). A reliable source that I trust has told me that they are trying to get rid of me and putting me in a place where I will likely screw up is a very good way to do this, luckily I am several steps ahead of those lying, backstabbing scumbags. I just need to get the doctors note which will hopefully get me out of this and work on my exit strategy, I hate to play the Autism card as it has never negatively affected my job before but I got to do what I got to do.

Probably when I was abseiling off a cliff (Obviously lol) and I slipped, was quite scary. But I enjoyed teh experience overall, Im not fond of heights but I faced my fears that day and lived through it ^^

So I suppose it was also a great moment ^^

When I first moved into my house, it was pretty creepy, but everynight I would hear the keyboard typing, and no one be in the coumpter room. One night I was standing in the hallway looking and hearing the typing (my bro would hear it too) when all of a sudden I heard a voice say somthing, and for an 11 year old, I was scared as anything. I must have been half asleep or was just hearing things, and that typing must have been pipes or the house creeking..... I hope.

When I was younger, my sister and I went swimming in the ocean and decided to go out further than normal. We got to a sandbar, then played in the waves for a bit. A few minutes later, my sister stopped, got my attention and said "don't get scared, but there's a shark right behind you". I tried to remain calm, but on the inside I was freaking out. That was the longest swim to shore of my life, I kept thinking the shark would get me at any moment. When I got back to shore I found out the shark may have been a dolphin, but I was still shaken up, and was afraid to get in the ocean for a while, or at least go out that far.

Another time I was doing a scavenger hunt with some friends on a hiking trail. I found some bench we needed a picture of, and my partner decided to go find the guy with the camera, leaving me waiting by the bench. There was a bear sighting earlier, but I felt safe because a ranger with an air horn was with me. However, the ranger eventually left me alone, and the bear showed up with its cubs. It was probably 50 feet away, and was blocking the way back to the parking lot. I even looked it in the eyes by accident and it stood up on its hind legs, which was kinda scary. The bear eventually left and I ran like hell back to the main entrance.

Tl; dr- I ran into a shark, which may have been a dolphin, and another time I ran into a bear. Both scared the shit out of me.

Hm.. This is gonna be a hard one considering how easily things can scare me. Plus I'm really a strong comfort zone person who doesn't like to venture far from it.

I think my going to Public school for the first time. Since I was homeschooled until I went to public school in 8th grade, I didn't know what to expect at all.

I guess my parents separation was scary at first to.

And this one time I had to give a speech back in a speech class I had in homeschooling. It didn't end very well either :/.

Also first time in band class as I couldn't remember anything about music since I hadn't played in a year. It worked out eventually, but it didn't go over very well at first.

I get alot of times where I end up scared don't I :P. I'm a very fearful person I guess.

Around the beginning of the year, I started having panic attacks.  I got up in the middle of the night a few times truly believing that I was about to die at any moment.  Fortunately, it is not something that happens to me anymore.

It was my sophomore year in college when I slept through my political science 102 midterm. When I woke up and saw the time I was beyond frantic. Think Lesson Zero Twilight frantic. I remember calling my mom, yelling, stuttering, and crying that my life was over, and if I couldn't make up the test then I'd have no future. I got on my pike and sped to the professor's office, pacing up and down the halls while I waited for her and couldn't get the panic out of my head. It was awful.

When I was 8 years old, I went to visit my grandparents and I got locked out of their apartment complex. It was one of those buildings where you either need a key to enter or have someone who lives there open the door for you. And it was late at night and I was locked out for what seemed like 30-45 minutes? It may not sound like much in writing but the experience terrified me.

When I was 7 years old, I was vacationing at the beach and I was stung repeatedly by a jellyfish (portugese man-o-war) leaving me in serious pain and causing awful red patterns all over my body that lasted weeks. I was rushed to the hospital and everything. One of my high school teachers who I related the story to claims I'm lucky to be alive. The hilarious thing is that the rest of the vacation turned out pretty great and I have fond memories of it.

here's a picture of what those bastards look like: portuguese-man-o-war.jpg

I also went through a period of separation anxiety about 10 years ago and there were some scary moments in there where I thought I would never see certain family members again after they left the house. Experiencing one of your parents moving out (divorce) will do that to you.

It was during my trip to France with my high school French club during my Junior year.

I was standing at a street corner with my teacher and the rest of my club, when I was distracted by something and looked away for a minute.  By the time I looked back?  The rest of the club was *gone*.  Keep in mind I had no idea how to get back to our hotel, didn't remember what the hotel's name was, and could barely speak French anyway.

The prospect of being a 16 year old kid, alone and lost in one of the biggest cities in the world, in a country thousands of miles from home, with only a rudimentary knowledge of the language, is an absolutely terrifying thought.

Luckily I had the sense to stay put and ignore my instinct to try and go out and find *them*.  They found me in 10 minutes.

I work as a seasonal lifeguard, and the first time I had to save a kid from drowning I was almost as scared as the kid! I was so sure I was going to flub up and let him die! Irrational? Sure, but it didn't feel that way at the time!

The scariest was when I woke up from a nightmare caused by my own rabbit (I don't have her anymore, I was tired of being woken in the middle of the night by her).  I was having a dream in the middle of the night when my rabbit decided to go crazy in her cage and be as noisy as possible.  In my dream I was talking with a clown.  When I heard the sound, my subconscious tried to integrate it to my dream to prevent me from waking up... BAD IDEA.  Everything turned grey and the clown started screaming at me (that was the noise the rabbit was making in real life).  I woke up sweating heavily and it took me at least 30 minutes to even try to sleep again.  Of course, I let the rabbit out of my room before trying again :\.

The scariest moment of my life was almost dying when I was riding Stealth at Thorpe Park. My heart stopped for a bit, so I had to get some CPR or whatever it's called.
