What Bothers Me About Pro-Twilicorns

And I'm not sure why it's the business of others to make sure Anti-Twilicorns "give it a chance". Let people have their own opinions, no matter how misguided you think they are.

Because "I hate this idea, it'll never work, it'll be the worst thing ever and they need to change Twilight back ASAP, no I'm NOT going to let the writers guide the show and I'm NOT going to see what they have in store for her, I've made up my mind based on three minutes of screen time" does seem awfully closed-minded to a lot of us.

We're trying to get you to see this with an open mind. The battle isn't about whether you like it or not. IMO, it's the closed-minded and frankly PREJUDICED ones that are forming a rift.

Fair enough.  In any event, fourth season is confirmed, we know the first two episodes will touch on the things set in motion in the S3 finale, and regardless of what we think, something will happen.

Why is it that I have to agree with what is going on? Because YOU are? No, I don't. If you're going to look down upon me for having an opinion differing yours, then I should look down upon you. Within a fanbase that prides itself on respect and tolerance, I expect more. If you're going to tell me that "everything's going to be okay" and that "it's no big deal" then I should be able to say that it really isn't. Why is it that pro-Twilicorns are able to express their opinions without judgement meanwhile anti-Twilicorns get ridiculed among other things? Is it because of the majority of bronies being pro-Twilicorns? I don't know. Am I just not allowed to have an opinion because it differs from the majority? That's what it feels like.

 

Few quick points.

 

You can express you distaste, one of the problems is that it has been done way too many times before the episode even aired and even more times after it aired. Good point or bad point, if you keep repeating it 50 times a hour, it gets annoying eventually.

 

If you are being told to calm down a lot, chances are you are being hysterical about something. Mind you, I don't know if you were. 

 

You don't have to respect the decisions of the writers at all. Not even a little bit. The problem here is tho, that you have to accept them, because you don't have a say in the matter. You can be the bitter drunk guy in the corner who keeps yelling about the unfairness of the world or you can just go on with your life, but you have to accept it either way.

 

Don't make a war out of this. "Oh, look at me I'm oppressed minority, but I'm making a stand here! Even tho I'm not really a minority or making a stand." does not help. Creating a problem and then dividing people over it never works. Well, unless flame - grief wars is your aim. You're angry about what happened? Write a letter to Hasbro instead of taking it out on others around the fandom just because they perhaps don't mind it that much.

 

Frankly tho, it's the first point. It's been said way too many times, agree or disagree with Twilly princess, it became annoying to almost everyone. Again, you can't do anything, so why not just wait and see what the'll do with this "situation" in S04?

As most of you are probably aware, I do not agree with the Twilicorn one bit. I've stated this several times before, and I am again now. I've tried to stop my "whining" but I've come across something that I've felt ever since it aired about those who support the idea.

Yes i agree with you, you should never have become a alicorn twilight sparkle

 

however it is possible to be a alicorn by the mother or father being a unicorn or pegasis which combined made that alicorn

 

MoonSparkle is a alicorn from her father being a unicorn and her mother being a pegasis but Twilight Sparkle was only a unicorn till she decided to be a alicorn when shes asleep? whats that about lmao, i decided i became the queen of everything but it didn't mean i did. Another problem is this most alicorns become princesses however Twilight Sparkle can never be a true princess because she isn't related to royalty 

 

the sad thing is if Twilight Sparkle becomes a princess she would be better then the other main characters which is besides the point, thats going to piss everyone off and twi will no longer have any friends. It will probably cause the death of mlp just like other tv shows where the producers ruined the originality, e.g. digemon and pokemon where its all full of pony poo now instead of being a good story line

of course Twilight Sparkle was originally meant to be a pegasis but then the producers decided they needed more unicorns

 

so her body shape will allow wings but not great big fat ones or shes going to look like a sheep

Proponents: Ardent supporters of the... Twilicorn. Generally, people who try to say it's all awesome and all that lame fluffy crap.

 

Opponents: People suffering from either chronic/acute butthurt or incredible concentrations of angst. They hate the... Twilicorn.

 

Peacemakers: People who want to be different, so they try agreeing with two totally contradictory sides in order to end up a winner.

 

And people like me who use analytics to try and get people to realize how stupid this fighting can be.

When they are upset right? When they are yelling or crying or are somehow noticeably operating outside of their normal personalities.

Running on full steam is NOT a way to avoid "calm down." In fact, it is more detrimental than you could possibly know.

 

NO ONE is "looking down on you". NO ONE here is insulting you or claiming that you are stupid or any other such nonsense.

 

And if someone has said such a thing, ignore it.

 

I use this as my "pirate code".

Seriously, people have been forcefeeding each other's opinion of Alicorn Twilight and I have to say I have somehow myself. However I don't think this is slowing down anytime soon, and even after S4 aired people will still be arguing whether turning Twilight into an Alicorn has made the show better or worse. First off, I've been on the internet for years and frequent 4chan and several other sites that I'd rather not name, thank you very much.

 

Second off, do I look like I'm freaking out? Do I act like I'm whining? "Yelling or crying?" No, I don't and no, I am not. There is a difference between "blowing a gasket" and complaining about something.

 

My only comment? This just furthers my point. I can't express my opinion without being told to calm down and shut up. Congrats, you've become an example of exactly of what I was trying to combat with this thread.

Quite honestly, I thought that, prior to Magical Mystery Cure, almost everypony was anti-Twilicorn. However, I noticed that afterwards, they all have converted to pro-Twilicorn for some reason. Personally, I'm neutral. I'll trust Hasbro and the writers this one time with such an extreme and how they'll handle it, but I do not like it.

Okay, I feel this has gone on long enough. This thread has produced some good and though-provoking posts, but now it's degenerating into a simple conflict. I don't think anything else good can come from it.
