I saw a five second clip from the "Epic AMV" on PurpleEyes abridged Code Geass series. Looked up the AMV, looked up the source material on TV Tropes, found out what "brony" meant, and a hop,skip, and a jump back to Youtube I was watching the pilot and didn't look back! It seemed like a cool thing like "It's cool to watch it, because it looks like it's for little girls, but it's actually cool, and people will be like whaaaaaaat and laugh and that's cool" And it is pretty cool to like ponies in our current society if you still act manly, believe it or not. I had a few friends on Facebook who kept mentioning MLP, and I saw several references to it on various sites, but for the most part I just ignored it. The one of the blogs I follow posted a link to a video called "My Little Serenity" ( ). Since Firefly was, up until that point, my favorite TV show ever, I clicked the link, totally not expecting ponies. After watching the video, I figured that MLP did look a bit more interesting than I originally thought, so I gave the series a shot. Two episodes later and I was hooked. At first, I thought it was just some thing people were doing, but it started spreading to more videos. Then I looked on Google for Derpy, and started learning more about the show. I had NO CLUE before looking at Google that this had anything to do with MLP, but once I found out, I thought it looked different than the commercials from way back when, so I took a peek on YouTube for some episodes, and yeah. Its ironic that Twilight Sparkle is my favorite pony, yet Derpy is the one that got me into FiM. Thanks Derpster! One day I accidentally clicked on a video, and instead of closing the tab, I kept it open and watched. I'm really glad that I did too. From then on curiosity got the best of me and here I am today.
