1 hour drawing of Lrya Heartstrings

ok fillies and colts, i have been drawing alot as of late and i noticed that all my work takes me between 3-4 hours to do so i desided to give myself a time limit and try and pull off a good drawing in 1 and 1/2 hours. i will admit to cheeting by drawing her with her eyes closed but shes just so damn pretty that way .

Pretty. Quite pretty.
I'm not quite sure what critique to add, seeing as it was a time-restrained drawing, but I have to say that the shading is rather nice.
In regards to the shading however, I would like to say that it feels a little jumpy at times. Jumpy as in; the shading angle is not consistent through the whole image, and it feels as though there is multiple light sources.

I would suggest that before drawing the shading and detail, determine the angle of your light source(s), and imagine the drawing when using that light source, to figure out the best areas to shade.
I usually just draw two lines to mark the edges of the light source (however, if parts of the drawing go beyond it, I usually act as though the light hits them as well).

God damn it, I really need to up my game when it comes to drawing then. I spent the best part of 5 hours drawing, and it didn't com anywhere near as good as this.

Drawing is really nice) it looks awesome, but i assume that most work you had was with shading and not the basic shape of the pony^^nice job either way

thanks all! the shading im not real proud of , i have a grand total of 10 mins on it. i will most likely go back and clean it up tonight while im at "work" (if i can even call it that, more like arts and crafts time). i really wanted to push myself and see if i could rock one out in under a hour, i made 1.5 hours instead but still im happy with it.

 

oh and thanks to the power of my 20.00 dollar pencils i bought, erasing the fopa's will be a easily done!

Okay, you never told me that you were THIS good of an artist. This is amazing work, especially given the time that it was done in. I actually haven't checked out your DA yet, something I just overlooked. Perhaps I need to do that now.

Looks damn impressive. Could never have cooked up something like that in only one hour! I spend perhaps 5 hours on a drawing that prob. could've been done in 20 mins or so   I'm slow with everything I do.
