So I just got my hands on the trial version of RPG maker. If you don't know what it is, the simplest explanation would be: read the title.

 

Not much to say about this except that you're not limited to what comes with it and that you can search online for more sprites, song or even other people's games.

If you don't know how to use it, it comes with practice. I don't know much about it but I have tried it a while ago (2000, 2003) and know a bit about it.

 

The version I got is VX Ace, BTW.

I used it a long while ago, a really long while ago. That version. There are things you have to think about. 1. The combat system has no animation and is very static, so if you want to make any sort of cool stuff in terms of battle system, you need lots of custom scripts and custom sprites to make something pretty looking.

 

It is worth learning and can be a lot of fun, but making stuff can take quite a while, but that is game development for you.
