my first Derpy and her muffin

this is my first attempt at drawing Derpy. i decided to take over my brothers computer for a few hours as i tried my hand at a little art. Derpy is one of my favorite background ponies ( after lyra of course ) and i figured what better pony to draw then her. so i decided i would throw a muffin her way and hope that she can catch it. so tell me what you think and maybe ill draw lyra next. if fanglore will let me at his computer again

WOWZERZ! That's really good for a first fan drawing!

 

What I love about it:

-The muffin looks literally exactly like it does in the show

-Derpy's silly face is hilarious and adorable

-Simplistic, yet awesome

-You nailed it as far as quality, especially for a first drawing

Dang Only your first drawing? I thought it was out of the show almost at first glance. Everything looks well done proportion wise. The muffin looks really great Expecially. Some of the lines are a bit woobly and such, but overall it looks pretty good!

thx for that. the wings were realy the hardest part for me. and figuring out how to a line them so they look good was a real challenge

thx for that. i have only done one pony drawing before this and it was more of a copy from the internet then a real drawing. also thanks for pointing out the muffin tho it did kinda surprise me. i put that in as a last minute thing and spent probably 5 min on it but i did like the way it turned out and the pic just didnt look done without it

i realy like Derpy also and i thought she would be a good starter one because she has a vary basic style to her and i have never been able to get eyes straight in my pics so here that would only make it better.

when i first saw it i thought that too, especially with that muffin, i won't lie, it looks perfect. i wish i could get my digital lines that clean!

honestly i think the lines look pretty wobbly . mostly around the belly and the front legs. tho i did try to make them as smooth as possible. i still don't have a smooth hand yet but that just comes with practice. thx for the complement tho. it helps

Your Derpy is adorable, I love the joyful "OMG MUFFIN!" expression on her face as she dives for it. Yeah, some of the lines aren't perfect, but all in all I think you did a pretty good job.

for me when i draw my characters i go off what i know about them- or my favorite thing about them- so what do you like about lyra- what is it she does that makes you adore her so so- then draw her like that or draw her in that particular mood or stance- and when you do it like that you can be either complacated or simple about the way you draw her. and if you need help obviously you can ask your brother -  maybe whatch the episodes you like best with her in in and draw that scene or just the way you see her is a good way to start. references are always good to use- it helps to see what your trying to draw when you have no idea what your doing! hope this helps :/

thanks for all the DAAAAWWWWWW'S i was running low after watching snowdrop.  also did you draw the pics in your profile and in your sig. because if you did they are awesome.

Very well done, I should mention one thing you should put a little more work on though.

 

 

The front left hoof, I see you tried to make us look from beneath/sideways from the left hoof but that line you made there to make it look that way seems to be very out of place,it doesn't fit with the posture the picture is in aka it is a "picture taken sideways".. but then her hoof suddenly goes a bit more to the left so we can see beneath it? That seems out of place.

 

Anyway, that is the only real critism I can give. Good drawing.
