Pilot 40 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 So, I noticed that many people that don't like twilicorn. Many say they dislike her because they think season four will have multiple problems due to her being a alicorn. So, I ask you all, would you accept twilicorn more openly if there wasn't a season 4, or would you still dislike the change (or maybe even dislike it more)? There wouldn't be a difference for me, as I like her now and would like her either way (though I would bad sad I couldn't see more about her being a princess). http://i.imgur.com/Y7DbzpO.png
Tank the tortoise 262 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 Personally I find that the whole debacle about her becoming an alicorn was based around the fear that she would outlive her friends. Given that this show is about friendship this left a great deal of fans hurt. Thing is we don't know that her becoming an alicorn does anything more than make her have wings and a title. For this reason, whether the show continued or not, I personally have grown to be fine with the decision. That being said I do agree it definitely seems like a series finale change rather than a seasonal change, but I digress. I believe that once Season 4 does come out people will start to see they were worried for nothing. Equestria.tv Administrator and all around fun guy. Naught Important 434 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 No way! I would die to find out how everything turns out. I would support her less if Season 4 didn't exist! I want to see what happens! I already support Twilicorn, and I can't support her much more. 1 The extent of my interest is in things that don't exist. Or, at least, things that aren't in the basic man's senses
Shanks 10,816 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 I would still be opposed to it but not nearly as vehemently as I have been though I would extremely pissed that they ended the series without giving even the slightest hint as to what her responsibilities would be, the nature of her new powers or any other info on alicorns in general. Dark Qiviut 22,431 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 (edited) No, I wouldn't support it. In fact, I'd slam it even worse. The Twilicorn was supposed to close the series, and given the bad execution of this rushed concept, it would've permanently soiled her reputation. Five minutes is more than enough time to impress your audience, and it didn't. But with season four on the table, it gives the writers another chance to make it work and result in Twilight being a better character. lincolnshirepony 527 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 Hm... I don't think I'd support her less or more, but I would feel differently about the subject. I'm excited to see what the writers will do with her in her new alicorn state. If season 3 was it, then that obviously wouldn't be the case. I don't think Magical Mystery Cure would have worked very well as series finale. It wouldn't give enough closure to the rest of the cast, but that doesn't have anything to do with her as alicorn... I'm glad that there is going to be another season, and I honestly think that alicorn Twilight is going to seem better once the concept is explored. DFTBA. Clover Heart 978 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 Well, that would depend on how season 3 were executed. I think they made season 3 with it in mind that they'd be making season 4. However, if there were no intent to make a 4th season, I think things may have played out a bit differently. I think that revealing Twilicorn could have been a good ending to the series, but they would have to actually wrap up the series. If you're talking about, however, if season 3 were as it was and then they just didn't make any more episodes, I'd be pissed. Not only was the most recent episode my least favorite, but it would make a terrible ending for the series. Moreover, whether the episode was good or not, it begs for more episodes to be made. 1 You're the most basic of jokes.
Lionheart27 33 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 Ending the series after season 3 would leave far more questions needing answers than season 4 with her as an alicorn would answer. For what it's worth, I like the idea, even though it throws off the balance the group had prior to the change. Still, that balance is still present in the Crusaders, and if Cadence and Shining Armor are grouped in with the Mane 6, the balance is restored at 2 apiece. If nothing else, this will lend a new set of adjustments for everyone in Season 4. Detroit Tigers- Back to Back AL Central Champs When in doubt, post ponies! Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,604 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 I already support Twilicorn to the highest levels that I can, so my opinion would not change. The funny thing is, there was originally going to be no season 4. I am so glad that there is though because I really want to see how the writers will handle this character advancement. If there wasn't going to be a season 4, I would be quite annoyed (As well as a angry, depressed, etc)
Nature's Spell 526 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 I totally accept her new role and can't wait for the new season. With that said, ending the series with MMC would not have been a good way to do it. Too many questions and a strong desire to see her in her new role. Awesomeface 8 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 If season 4 didn't exist, it would make Magical Mystery cure a horrible season finale. This is because that episode was somewhat rushed, because for about half to three quarters of the episode, they're fixing the cutie marks, then BAM! Twilight's got wings, BAM! Coronation, then song, then that's the end of the series. It would also be disappointing to cut off character development, like the CMCs
Just some guy 1,070 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 It wouldn't make a difference to me.Twilight is an alicorn now, there's no changing that now.If they were gonna end FiM at S3,then that would just make the Magical Mystery Cure one of the worst series finales I've ever seen because it was so bloody rushed for any sort of finale.Wouldn't change my opinion on Twilicorn to swing one way or the other.
Scootalove 10,689 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 I wouldn't really know since Season 4 didn't happen yet, announced but never occurred. I see no difference in my opinion on Twilicorn until I see more of her in Season 4, my opinion is still neutral and I guess we could say that I'm undecided. 1 Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
Sugar Cube 4,843 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 Yes, I would accept Twilicorn more than I do if there wasn't a Season 4. Turning Twilight into an alicorn was definitely something I could have seen happening as a series finale, not a season finale. Now that she has "fulfilled her destiny," I keep asking myself, where is she going to go from here? What is left for Twilight? The premise of the show was a group of friends learning life lessons about friendship. Now that Twilight has "mastered" friendship, it feels strange for things to keep going. I believe there was still much Twilight could have learned, and there was still much for her to do as a unicorn. This change came too soon, is all I'm saying.
Harmonic Revelations 8,835 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 I already support Twilicorn, and even if I didn't, this show is great. Even if I absolutely despised Twilicorn, not making a Season 4 definitely wouldn't make me feel any better. Might make me a bit upset, though.A blinding rage is a more accurate description of how I'd feel without a Season 4.
Zygen 6,066 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 Well I wouldn't really differ in my Twilicorn Opinions, I'm already indifferent mostly. Wouldn't change much. However I would be sad due to there being no more MLP so yeah.. . It is however a good note to have the series end on in a way, seeing as its the end of one of Twilights story arcs. However it'd leave alot of questions left up to debate for the fans, which would be kinda odd . Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! TailsIsNotAlone 3,695 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 If it were the same episode? I've thought about it, and I don't think so. Emerald Flame 381 March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 Oh hell no. After all the great things that this series has done, ending it on MMC would feel like a huge slap in the face. I would have been much angrier than I was when it happened.
Starflower 323 March 24, 2013 Share March 24, 2013 Regardless of the outcome, I'll still support Twilight as an Alicorn no matter what. The show is just too good for me to not like it, and I don't see myself not watching the show anymore because of this.
Ficta_Scriptor 165 March 24, 2013 Share March 24, 2013 Yes, I would accept Twilicorn more than I do if there wasn't a Season 4. Turning Twilight into an alicorn was definitely something I could have seen happening as a series finale, not a season finale. I believe there was still much Twilight could have learned, and there was still much for her to do as a unicorn. This change came too soon, is all I'm saying. I do have to agree. Twilight's coronation would've felt better as a series finale IMO. I know that the writers can do what they want and are free to change things, but I just feel like Twilight's ascension should mark the end of a journey, not the 'somewhere in the middle'. I can see the whole scene where Celestia is showing Twilight her past experiences, and that would've been perfect for the end of the series. Yes, I'm aware that this new change will bring about new possibilities and yadda yadda yadda... but I'd be lying if I said that this is how I'd have wanted things to go. I have no doubts that season 4 will be good and I'm expecting a lot of development because of this new change... but I really think this event should have marked the end of the series. I genuinely can't think of a scenario in which Alicorn Twi will improve the show in any way. I've had over a month to think about it, seen hundreds of arguments from both sides, episode ideas... and my opinion hasn't changed. Not because I'm adverse to change, but because I just don't happen to like this one. I think people are more than entitled to dislike things about the show. Hell, some people consider the quality to have dropped since season 2. It's not my personal opinion, but if they feel that way then it's perfectly OK to say so. And if people ever feel like not watching the show anymore, how does that make them in the wrong? Some people hate the fact that Discord is a good guy now. I'm fine with it, but people should be allowed to hate it, much like people should be allowed to hate the show in general. And why should they give a reason? It's a TV show. You're allowed to stop liking it. You're allowed to stop watching it. You're allowed to hate it.And you shouldn't be required to argue your case with reasons. End of. Still, I'm looking forward to future episodes and I won't be leaving the fandom any time soon. 2 Applejack and Luna are best ponies! Feel free to follow me on Fimfiction! Warkipax 3 March 24, 2013 Share March 24, 2013 (edited) I'm of the mind that Twilicorn is a neutral development. I'm not quite sure what's going to change, and if that will be good or bad. However, I'll admit that the basic idea really appeals to me. Twilight Sparkle is the only character I've found in any media that I can truly relate with, mostly because of the whole 'smart but socially awkward' thing. Seeing her grow and overcome her weaknesses was a delight and gave me hope that I could do the same. But now? She's finally being recognized for her talents and contributions after a long journey! This is a concept I can easily get attached to. The series continuing is something I can't really opine upon. Being too blinded by the 'you can do it!' message seemingly aimed directly at me, I couldn't possibly be objective about this. I hope that there's more detail concerning alicorn mythos and what a princess of friendship would do on a daily basis. Maybe the show will shift from slice of life comedy in a small town full of ponies to sitcom-like workplace antics alongside gods. "Fetch me some coffee, would you?" "That's your third cup this morning! Can't you levitate some over yourself?" "THE PRINCESS OF THE DAY DEMANDS YOUR COOPERATION, LEST YE BE BANISHED FOR ALL ETERNITY!" Now that would be a twist! Pony Of The Month 534 March 24, 2013 Share March 24, 2013 The way I see it, Magical Mystery Cure wouldn't have been a satisfying series finale. And this is coming from someone who loves the episode. The first reason is that I want to actually see Twilight as a princess. Magical Mystery Cure gave me a lot of questions and I'm glad they didn't just end it there. I've always been accepting of twilicorn, even when I thought it was just a rumor. And The Pony Of The Month Is: Princess Celestia!
duidamasterXD 9,627 September 15, 2013 Share September 15, 2013 Quite possibly, but that wouldn't change the fact that Magical Mystery Cure would still be a deeply unsatisfying ending to the show. I might just get frustrated at the process of her becoming one hogging the last episode of the series .
Jokuc 8,174 September 15, 2013 Share September 15, 2013 Well it would not make any difference for me. She would still become an Alicorn and it would still change many things within the community. I don't mind the idea with Twilight being an Alicorn though, but if they made her Alicorn just as toy and not making a new season I would be a bit sad because that would suggest that hasbro just wants to make more money with their toys and they do not care about us getting to know in the show why and how she has become an Alicorn.
