Tom The Diamond 1,830 February 2, 2012 Share February 2, 2012 So I was browsing the Everfree Forest forum, when I began to notice something. A good chunk of the threads there were related to some form of media, such as TV Shows, Movies, Video Games, etc. So I decided to try a little experiment of sorts, and I checked six pages in there, and sorted each thread I saw into a group. The four groups I sorted each thread into were; Media- A thread relating to some form of Media. Life/Problem- A thread relating to somepony's life or a problem they have. News- A thread regarding events that were happening at the time the thread was posted. Other- A thread that I could not fit into any of the other categories. Here is the list of all 174 threads I counted(Which isn't all of the Everfree Forest, but should give you a basic idea of what kind of threads there.) Media-79 Life/Problem-33 News-7 Other/Misc-55 So as you can see, 79 out of the 174 threads there were about some form of media, a rather large majority. Now, the Everfree forest has 749 threads in it, making it the second largest forum here, second to Octavia's Hall. So if we assume that there are 79 media threads out of every 174 threads, there are probably 338 threads in the Everfree Forest that relate to some form of Media, give or take a few. That's more threads then there are in Canterlot Castle, Minecraft Server, Show Discussion, and Cloudsdale Colosseum. So what I am proposing is a new forum that would cover any forms of media, such as TV Shows, Movies, Anime, Video Games, Manga, Cartoons, Books, Music and Comic Books(Which could be separated from each other with Prefixes). For right now, we'll refer to it as the 'Media Forum' until a more pony-related name is made. With a Media Forum, the Everfree Forest will be a smaller place and more easier to look through. It will also allow for other threads to be on the front page of the forum now, sparking more discussion in them. This will also make tracking threads you haven't followed easier, since they'll be in smaller places. Also, having a tread for types of Media will also not only encourage more media threads, but also the threads there will enjoy the same benefits the Everfree Forest threads would enjoy if they were separated. Tl;Dr: With the Media Forum, it would greatly reduce thread clutter in the Everfree Forest, and is broad enough to see plenty of use everyday. 9 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But if I was good, the name would be Trixie related, I can guarantee you that. ; ) Though I do like the Vinyl Scratch and Manehatten names! Once its created, if it is, I'll be all over it! sorry if this sounds alittle concieted but like when i start my Channel i want to become like the Oficial channel for MLP forums and become like regularly featured on Equestria Daily. its kinda a giant dream for one of the Youngest brony in these here forums but i think with like your guys support it might actually happen... idk i just wanted to tell you guys I'm the Son of Celestia And when i'm King who else did you think would be Queen? If such threads continue to explode in popularity we may revisit it in the future. As a side note, Tom's post up top illustrates the proper way to propose a new board to us - we're not quite going through with it at the moment, but we will be keeping an eye on things and giving it further thought later on down the line. 5 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

That's usually my favorite forum but recently it's just getting flooded with uninteresting topics that don't encourage much discussion while the more "discussable" threads seem to have gotten burried Just my opinion at least. 2 LRP's opinions are subject to change without notice.
