Eve smiled, and looked over the menu. She had to agree quietly with Stacy. The grilled sunflower did look quite good... 

 

She glanced around the restaurant, and to her surprise, noticed a number of happy couples sitting at tables. She hadn't noticed before, but all the tables seemed to be set only for two...

Stacy continued to look through the menu just to give her mind something to do while she waited for the waiter to come and take their order. She looked up momentarily to see Eve looking around the restaurant and did so herself and noticed the tables as well. "Huh, that's strange. It's like they set these up for... couples...." And then the awkwardness hit her.

Sky went to his room after he got out of the carriage. He wasn't exactly the most liked person at the moment. So he decided to hide up in his room. Though no pony would care he just holed up there watching a news show called "Equestria Daily". He thought about what he did at the Dam and he was trying to do was somepony's attention but it was only a negative response. He sighed to himself and stared at the television.

Stacy continued to look through the menu just to give her mind something to do while she waited for the waiter to come and take their order. She looked up momentarily to see Eve looking around the restaurant and did so herself and noticed the tables as well. "Huh, that's strange. It's like they set these up for... couples...." And then the awkwardness hit her.

The only reason Eve began to feel awkward was because awkwardness began radiating from Stacy, flowing over Eve like waves. She wouldn't have cared, even if... Well, anyway, her cheeks flushed slightly, but she held her gaze on Stacy, ignoring the other couples around the place. In a quivering voice, she said, "I guess I know why Cliff wanted to come here, now." The quavering of her voice might have been from merriment, fear, sadness, or anything, really. It was hard to tell.

"Yuo, I guess it is." He followed her to the carriage. "So, uh... when we get back to the city... what would you like to do?" She didn't look like one who liked to gamble, but, then again, neither was he. He just hoped that she would choose something less... risky, he supposed.

Stacy noticed the waver in Eve's voice and felt an uprising urge to comfort the mare like she would've back at the time of the cruise. but pushed away the feeling and settled for simple conversation. "Yeah, guess he's a bit of a player, huh?" Stacy replied. She looked in Eve's direction and noticed the crimson on her cheeks and felt more awkwardness wash over her.

Milly said not knowing what there was to do in this city "It seems all there is to do here is drink and gamble...and i don't like to do either" Milly said then walked over and sat down in the carriage "Maybe we can take a walk in the city, there are a bunch of different hotels, maybe there is something to do in one of them!" Milly said

"Yeah, I guess he must be," said Eve, chortling softly. She caught the look on the mare's face a moment later, and grew suddenly serious. "Hey, Stace... Are you alright? Something wrong?" Because something definitely seemed to be up with Stacy. Now, hopefully Eve wouldn't have to worm it out of her.

"Yeah, I'm fine..." Stacy replied while looking anywhere she could temporarily escape the awkward situation when she notice... "Excuse me while I use the little mares room..." With that Stacy dashed off in to the small room with only a single stall and a mirror that need a chemical bath. 'Alright Stace. Recollect yourself and go back out there and act like nothing happened. Ugh, I hope I can pull it off.' she though and waited for a few more minutes before returning to the table. "Much better." Stacy said, the awkwardness now gone.

"Sure, that sounds like a good idea." He looked at the carriage. "Not as big as the last one... hang on, I'll see if the driver can take us back..." Dox went up to the front to speak with the driver about getting back to the city, leaving Milly alone with her thoughts for the moment.

Cliff suddenly found himself alone in a hospital room with Scamps. He made a small noise of protest as one of the nurses shut the door in Ocean's face and drew the curtains around Scamps' bed, but there wasn't much he could do. She still didn't seem lucid yet, but she was conscious, which was a step up from what she had been previously. "Hey, Scamps," He said quietly, swishing his tail and stepping hesitantly closer to the bed. "Sweetheart, you hit your head pretty hard...Can you tell me what happened?"

 

He sound like a mother, which hadn't been his intention, but he couldn't decide whether or not to disillusion her. He wasn't Airy, whoever that pony was, but if Scamps was delusional, Cliff wasn't sure about what to do.

Eve wore a mildly disappointed expression as Stacy dashed desperately off to the restroom. She sighed. 

 

Eve, you're a fool, you know that? It's been too long. She's moved on. She doesn't care anymore.

 

No, you're wrong. She still cares. Maybe in a different way, I dunno, but she still cares. I hope.

 

Brushing off the voice, Eve attempted to plaster on a pleasant face when Stacy returned. "Welcome back."

Eve wore a mildly disappointed expression as Stacy dashed desperately off to the restroom. She sighed.

 

Eve, you're a fool, you know that? It's been too long. She's moved on. She doesn't care anymore.

 

No, you're wrong. She still cares. Maybe in a different way, I dunno, but she still cares. I hope.

AsOcean left and closed the door, Scamps looke up at Airy, regrabbing his hoof. "Oh Airy," she sighed. "I can't believe you cane back. I thought you were dead. I thought...I....I...oh well. It doesn't matter now. What matters is that you're safe and with me now." She was about to pull him into a hug, when her vision began to clear, and Airy's green fur looked light blue. She pulled away, seeing somepony else.

 

"YOU?!?" She cried as she saw Cliff Chaser. "But I thought you were Airy. But, if I've been seeing you as Airy this whole time, that means that you were the one who stayed with me in the carriage, and you were the one who rushed to my rescue. But that doesn't make any sense. I thought you hated me. And you didn't let anypony else touch me, I only felt you....and I know Eve would have tried to help....which means..." Her eyes widened and voice softened as she realized why. "You do care...."

''Did I just watch through ALL of that?'' Splinter asked himself as he got off the carriage. ''I had missed a bunch of pages roleplaying wise for the friggin' umpteenth time now.'' Splinter said as he face hoofed. ''And what the hell happened to everypony? Did I blink or something?'' Splinter said while wandering around the entrance of the hotel. ''Why can't I have a friend for one bucking time?!'' Splinter thought out loud. Realizing what he had said. ''Screw it. Screw everything. I'm going to the city to get some shots.'' Splinter muttered as he headed for the city bar.

Ocean sat just outside the door with her head in her hooves, wondering why Scamp's wanted to be alone with Cliff so badly.

Then it hit her...Airy...Cliff ? No...Scamp's wouldn't be that mean...she had been a little rude at times...but she wasn't mean.

While Sky was in his negative mood he thought he should go dose it in some good ol' liquor. He grabbed his wallet and went down to the First floor. He walked outside and flagged down a taxi. He said to the driver, "Where's the best place in town to get a drink?" The cab driver just nodded and he drove him toward one of the popular bars in the city.

When Stacy had returned she noticed something off about Eve. She seemed to have less of a 'glow' around her. "So, anything new happen since I've been gone? We need to catch up." Stacy suggested to try and bring in a brighter mood. "How are you and Spark doing?" She inquired.

Eve merely gave Stacy a blank stare, although the Star Rose seemed to close its petals sadly at the question. "I've already told you," she said, trying to keep her voice devoid of emotion. "He left, and I haven't seen him in months." 

 

She wasn't upset with the question, no. What bothered her is how little attention Stacy had paid, evidently, during their earlier conversation.

Stacy immediately felt terrible for forgetting their earlier conversation. "Oh... I'm sorry. I forgot." Stacy looked down at the table trying to avoid being seen by the mare in front of her out of shame. 'Why is this going so bad? *sigh* Maybe she... no, don't go back there. Hop said not to go back there. But... maybe.' "Eve? I um, I was wondering if you'd... *sigh* never mind."

Splinter had already entered the bar and had helped himself to several bottles of Applejack Daniels Cider. He had gotten himself wasted. Which, of course.. He was too drunk to realize it.. Apparently. ''Gimme another bottle.. Maybe three.'' Splinter said while handing the bartender a few more bits. And in trade, received three more bottles of cider. ''Whenever Splinter gets drunk, Splinter feels like he loses all sanity when he gets drunk. But he has Splinter's thoughts. Which seem to talk about him in the third-person.''

Sky noticed that another pony entered the bar and that he ordered some Daniels. Sky was already a bit tipsy but he always remembered the golden rule. Always have a drinking buddy. He walked over to him and said, "Hey man how's it going?"

Splinter noticed the colt who had interrupted him from his second bottle and sighed. ''Oi.. Not much. Getting wasted to wash away depression.'' Splinter said sluggishly before finishing his second bottle and popping the bottle cap off of the third. ''What's yer name?'' Splinter asked while cocking an eyebrow.

Sky replied "Sky, I go by Sky." He took a small swig of his drink. He finished off the rest and exasperated his delight in the taste. He knocked on the hard word of the bar counter to signal the bartender he want another round. "Make it two for my pal here...what is your name by the way?" Sky asked questioningly.

Eve seemed to perk slightly as Stacy began to ask her... something, but the hesitance implied... wait, no. She drooped quite as quickly as she had perked up. Why would Stacy want her again anyway? The cruel voice was right. Stacy wouldn't forgive her for what she did.

Eve raised her hooves, as if to hug herself, as the waiter approached.
