Ew, Acer Iconia W3 is overpriced. And from what you're saying it's not even worth to get.

I bought an ASUS MeMo Pad Smart 10 in pink, which is a 10.1 inch android 4.1.1 tablet for $300. So far it's been good for it's price, running apps at fairly fast speeds and all that good stuff. I also love the audio playback on it since the speakers both vibrate and push air out, but having your headphones plugged in didn't satisfy me very much.

A brohoof to you my good sir~

What does yours have inside it?

EDIT: Nevermind, I read it on your description :

3

Anyway, mine has an Nvidia Tegra 3 Quad core with an extra 5th core acting as RAM, clocked at 1.2 Ghz. It's GPU is integrated from the processor being based off the graphics company.

Android 4.1.1 ;P

10.1 LED Backlit (which I saw the LED's in the sun at a viewing angle, which looks cool) LCD screen at 1200x800 pixels.

1GB of DDR3 RAM, which is small but I don't keep tabs open.

16GB of storage, which is fine by me

32GB SD slot, micro USB charging slot, Mini HDMI slot which supports 1080p, and yeah. Those three :3

It's an Asus VivoTab Smart, running full Windows 8, powered by a 1.8GHz Intel Atom Z2760, has 2GB DDR2 RAM and has a 64GB eMMC as primary storage. Screen is a 10.1" multitouch 1366x768 IPS display and... it's not really that bad. In fact, 1366x768 and 1280x800 are probably ideal resolutions for a 10" tablet. Performance isn't that bad either, it's like Microsoft really worked on optimizing Windows 8 for the Intel Atom. Of course, it'll never perform as good as my full-sized MSI gaming laptop, but for what it is, it's not a bad device, especially for $400.

@, @,

I'm already the first in my family to ever have a walkman, a CD player, a laptop, a music player, a smart(er)phone, and a desktop computer that doesn't cry from running Minecraft, Runescape, and Simcity 4 at the same time.

I considered getting a tablet at one point but I put it in the back of my head right afterwards. What would you be your recommendations?

@@Ganaram Inukshuk, If you end up going for Windows, it's better to wait until Intel launches their Bay Trail Atom processors or AMD launches their Temash APUs. If you have a bit of money to spend, you can go for an Intel Core i5- or i7-powered tablet, such as a Microsoft Surface Pro, Samsung Ativ Tab 7 or Asus Transformer Book TX300, which are basically ultrabooks in tablet's clothing (and the Asus one has a 500GB hard drive in the keyboard dock as well as the 128GB built-in storage), but don't expect great battery life out of those until their manufacturers release Haswell-based hardware refreshes later (I know that Microsoft is going to be announcing the Surface Pro 2 later this month.) They also have fans due to the Core processors requiring active cooling, while Atom tablets do not require fans as they can be passively cooled. Do not bother with Windows RT yet, not until the Windows Store grows some more.

If you want an Android tablet, make sure to do plenty of research before you buy as many tablets feature similar specs, but have completely different ways of how it handles Android because of OEM customizations and some tend to perform better or worse than others. There also isn't as many tablet-oriented apps as Windows for Android, but 7" and 8" tablets, being closer in size to a smartphone, manage to offset this. Android tablets are also typically cheaper, such as the Google/Samsung Nexus 10, which has a quad-core Samsung Exynos 9 @ 1.9GHz, 2GB RAM, 16GB or 32GB storage, a 360° panoramic camera feature called "Photo Stitching" and a 10.1" 2560x1600 display (four times the pixels of most 10.1" Android devices, which usually have 1280x800 displays), is only $400. It can't really do coding or productivity as well as a Core i5 Windows tablet though, as it's mostly optimized for media consumption rather than coding or heavy productivity. It also has no MicroSD card slot, which means you're limited to just the internal storage for all your games, apps, music and other various files, as well as any cloud storage options you install.

With the iPad, well, it's Apple, so you should know what you're going to get: mid-ranged hardware with extremely optimized software to create the illusion of a higher-end device.

A brand to avoid for both Android and Windows is Acer. I have never seen one company make so many shitty products so consistently. Cases in point, the Acer Iconia Tab A500 (which I used to own), A700 and A1, Acer Iconia W3 and Acer Aspire R7 (the one with the weird hinge.) They also tend to fill their devices to the brim with bloatware, which is really bad on a tablet because of the limited internal storage, and this bloatware tends to take up massive amounts of storage space. Asus, Samsung, Google and Microsoft would be more desirable brands. Trust me, that W3 on display I played around with for a bit only had 3GB left on its 32GB eMMC. Of course, it was probably because people were installing random shit on the device because apparently the demo account has administrator privileges (WHY), but still.

Overall I'd just go for an Android or Windows tablet, iOS is boring junk and Apple likes to play Big Brother with what you can and can't do with your device. Oh, and the iPad is expensive as hell for what it does.

I have a windows tablet. It's what I am using to post this right now. xD It's what I use to do everything with.

The resolution is 1280 x 800 but I deal with it, but I use external monitors mainly.

But I like it, the tablet was like 900 dollars, and I use it for everything. xD

Windows...?

That's, like, the only post that didn't fry my brain.

I do the majority of my everything through the PSC (my Personal Supercomputer, which I call my main computer), and when I'm on the go, I use the DkC (the Dinkmachine), and yes, I took a picture of the two; see above.

Here's a question: If the human brain were a hard drive, what would its storage capacity be?

I'm very dissapointed in my computer right now.

How so? Is it a derp?

I heard it's a few terabytes, but I'm not sure. It might also be hard to gauge, since the brain stores information differently than computer drives.

It's graphics card isn't sending a signal to the monitor, forcing me to use the chipset GPU instead.

My "tablet" isn't really a genuine tablet, it's a tablet PC yes. It's one of those laptops with the screen that twists and turns into a tablet like thing. Has a pen and touch screen. Has a regular hard drive and has all the main connectors and stuff.

Only downside though is it lacks a DVD drive on it, so I have to use an external one. Maybe that could be an upside because I can buy a Blu-Ray reader and nothing is internal about it, I dunno, but since the computer only has 3 USB ports it can be a pain sometimes.
