Space controller Amalia rushed to Dave's workstation, clearly annoyed at the interruption. "Dave, this better not be another 'UFO' or I swear I'll-" Wordlessly, Dave activated his viewing crystal with a simple spell, and showed Amalia the message Dan sent. Amalia's face grew pale as she watched the message. "By Mrak..." Amalia rushed to her personal office, and quickly activated her own viewing crystal. As she cast the keying spell, a blurry shape appeared on the crystal's surface.

 

"This is Central Command. What is the trouble, Space Control?"

 

"Space pirates have threatened to attack innocent civilians, and they've taken at least two hostages. I repeat, they've taken hostages!" The crystal let out a strange hum, and the picture on the crystal changed. Instead on a blurry shape, a man's upper body was shown clearly. He wore magical power armor that covered everything but his head. He looked to be about 60 with a full head of very short grey hair. He had piercing blue eyes and a slight, wry smile.

 

"This is General Phantasmagoria speaking. We've located the pirates, and we've sent a MAT onboard their vessel to rescue the hostages. We need you to remain calm, and

keep talking to the pirates. We need to keep them busy while the MAT is doing its job."

 

"Yes sir." Amalia rushed back to Dave's workstation, and told him to contact the pirates again. Once Dan's face was on the monitor again she spoke quickly. "There's no need to attack. Just tell us your demands."

Just done some research into DDoS attacks and other types of it. All I can say is. Wow. Also I now know 2 open source programs that can perform them. They were initially made for testing network security and such. Not getting them though. I'm not an idiot.

from what I've seen, the sites that were ddos'd were able to put up cloudfare to stop the hackers.

well, as it is right now, its helping us be protected from asshats like the hackers.

I understand it might not have the best business practices, but I think that if the fbi wanted to look at that shiz, they could easily get to it.

Yep yep I don't blame ya. I live in a really small town so there's hardly anything to do. Hardly know anyone here either so I pretty much do the same day to day. Although I try to get out if it's nice outside.

CS:GO actually ended up being the first one I tried out since I wasn't a big PC gamer until 2012.  If you ever care to try out CS:GO yourself, be prepared for a very different best.

I wouldn't see you any differently --then again I hardly know you right now.  I never played any Counter-Strike until 2013.
