I agree. What moves do you recommend to replace the old ones?

I don't actually run one myself, but ive seen like, Flamethrower and Earth Power on them.

http://www.smogon.com/dex/xy/pokemon/hydreigon/vgc15/

Have that in case you want to do something they like.

Toxic is a lot better, now that I think about it. :dash: However, I am greatly amused by the idea of Pokemon hitting themselves in the face, so I think I'll keep confuse.

lol, I can't blame you.

I just don't like RNG and usually try to remove as much of it from my sets as much as possible.

Waterfall? I need surf to get around the map...

I suppose you say skull bash is bad because it's a two turn move, right? I've never heard of strong jaw, it must be one of the newer ones, so it doesn't exist yet for me... What would you have me replace it with?

Then you shall either keep Surf or you shall find an HM Slave to do it for you.

Skullbash - Two turn - 100 power - non stab - single target

Earthquake - one turn - 100 power - non stab - multitarget***

Crunch - one turn - 80 power* - stab** - single target

You get where I'm going with this now? There's just a lot more you can do that do not involve waiting a turn.

*Strong Jaw buffs biting move's power by 50%. That 80 power is now like, 120. This only applies to the mega form for Sharpedo.

**STAB = Same Type Attack Bonus. These moves get a 1.5x buff and are always favorable. So, for crunch, its now 120 base power and buffed by that.

***Multitarget moves do less damage when they actually hit multiple targets. Not always a bad thing, but yeah. Just something to note.

Hmm... I usually also give it a leftovers and then leach seed several other pokemon so it'll have ridiculous regen.

I never liked focus blast, it always seems to miss when I need it most.

That's not a bad thing, but you also have to survive for it to actually be of use. Not saying it can't do that, but yeah.

Yeah, Focus Miss will do that from time to time. It's why I don't use it as much unless I just need it (Curse my love of Gengar. >.>).

Solar beam has come in handy many a time. Still... what would you have me replace it with?

It's fine to have, but mostly only with a sun setter, which, it can do on its own if you want. If you really want it, then I'd take off another move and teach it Sunny Day.

Otherwise, I don't know what else to swap it with, as it doesn't get any other coverage for Water types other than Hidden Power (Grass).

If it comes down to not having anything, then you just have to swap out to like, Cacturne or something.

Actually, my Honchcrow seems to have a higher sp. att. then it does att.  :wau:

That could be because of the nature, IV's, EV's, or all of the above.

It's base attack, however, is always gonna be higher than the base Sp. Attack.

But, again, its only by 20 points. You can totally suffice with that.

Fairy resists dragon 100%!?  :o

Since I'm an all dark type kind of guy, it seems fairy types are going to be really problematic...

Eeyup. They are pure counters to it.

They surely will be. Better find some Poison or Steel types to use. Or at least someone who gets those kinds of moves.

I'll get those, then. Those people also talk highly of Draco meteor, but I'm not sure where I'll get that, there's not exactly TMs of it lying around....

I see. I'll have to find something else then... Maybe Ice fang?

Wow. :wau:  I did not know that.

I'll have to dust my Drapion out of storage, then.

Well, I can't go into much detail at all without anything else to go on.

Only thing I can say is you've two weaknesses to Psychic, three to Dark, Two to fire, which is a lot of doubles that technically should be fixed if looking at compet battling. You won't be able to get away from everything, but yeah, you don't have much to resist things where others are weak at.

Mawile and Gardevoir protect against Psychics for Gengar and Zubat.

Nothing saves from Dark types other than Mawile.

Nothing to save from the Fire types either.

I don't care for the stat drop it gives myself.

But I already have earthquake and crunch on that pokemon...

That was just an example of why its bad, specifically aimed for Sharpedo.

I see. I'll have to find something else then... Maybe Ice fang?

I would highly suggest it. Iirc, mine has Waterfall, Ice Fang, Crunch, and Protect (its mega based).

Wow. :wau:  I did not know that.

I don't know when it got put in, but yeah. I've surely noticed it myself for fact, but I can't find proper stating of it on Bulbapedia.

I'll have to dust my Drapion out of storage, then.

That should work pretty well.

They said it should be able to one hit pretty much anything that doesn't have resistance, so a hit and run approach should work.

Ah, I see. Ice fang it is, then.

I believe you.

Let's hope! It's got toxic spikes to, which is pretty awesome.

I used Red as the damage person, made tifa the main healer, and made cloud a jack of all trades master of all trades.
