Well, maybe nightmares isn't the right term. I'd enjoy having nightmares. No, I'm having... dark thoughts and emotions. For instance, where most people would see this:

Exhausted; I was out of town.

 

I think something about my monitor is broken; I mean, there's weird liney things going up and down.

 

And seriously, though, ponies with ponytails.

 

The cable I guess or your monitor is broken or something. Did you ever get it fixed? This place has been inactive.. I need to head to bed soon, got a long day at work tomorrow.. Hopefully I get holiday pay.. But I have no clue. Who is here right now? Who is lurking?

Get one with a huge resolution or something. xD Nah. Get one that you like. I think 4K resolution is like overkill but meh. Resolutions will get higher and higher until it will be 1 billion x 1 billion (approximate in 16:9 aspect ratio) and that resolution would be on the phone that's in your pocket. Just WAIT until that happens. xD

2560×1440's already big enough and any higher would probably choke my video card; the problem is finding something inexpensive, but I found two candidates: one $270 and another $320. (My video card was ~$320, without tax.)

 

1440p phones are already becoming a thing, and some of those things can already record at 2160p. And there are already 8K tablet-sized screens.

 

But I think the other interesting direction is going sideways: gone are the days of 4:3 monitors and 16:9 is now the standard, but there's another aspect ratio coming around: 64:27 (AKA 21:9), ultrawide.

 

Now the issue is finding a 1920×1080 monitor because that's where I'm starting at. I'm rebuilding my monitor setup since my 1366×768 are no longer suitable for convenient operation; they still work with the right converters but at what point is it no longer worth maintaining them?

Bah I gotta head to work here in like 10 minutes. I got 8 hour shift and it might take a while. At least tomorrow is another day off, and I need the car fixed but that won't be until Monday.....

Mine's 16:10 for anything with a width of 1920, 16:9 otherwise at a minimum resolution of 1366×768.
