Venting is good. :) It's never a good idea to hold feelings on your own UNLESS it's really necessary. But to the point in case.

To me, this fandom is AWESOME. Pure and simple. And I haven't had any bad experiences to actually say otherwise. That's not to say I'm ignoring that there are any. There probably ARE many of those bad experiences. But what I don't like is when the fandom gets generalized over them. I've got some details on what the YAC problem was, but not the entire issue. However, I can still say some things.. For first, YAC apologized for what he said, and that didn't mean any insult to any transgendered people, but he was severly pissed off with the girl he was singing about. And two, YAC tends to be quite direct in his speech, and never pulls any punches. But I don't think he wants to promote violence.

I'm not saying that I know a lot of the fandom. In fact, I probably know very little compared to others. But what I go is...this fandom is big. Really big. We all know this. Are we all sure that it is THAT bad?....Not to insult you or anything Kyronea.

And as for the other...well, I understand. It probably ISN'T easy hearing/seeing all those bad stuff about Transgender people and more. I consider myself a pretty tolerant person, and I consider "brony" as a gender-neutral word. And frankly, I admire you for giving a damn thing about what they say to you. Cultural clash will ALWAYS grow. It's a matter of humanity by now, sadly.

If...this comes as offensive, then sorry. Not really my intention over here. :(

Don't worry, don't worry, you haven't offended me. It's not easy to understand when you're not seeing it.

And I don't mean to say that the fandom is all bad. Quite the contrary. I wouldn't be an active part of it if I thought it was. I mean, I started Thirty Minute Pony Stories and help manage it's, ah...longer and more adult counterpart. I've participating in a number of fandom related things, including moderating this forum. So I definitely don't see it as all bad.

But I do feel as though there are some parts that could be improved. For instance, I don't buy for a second that YAC was sincere when he apologized. I saw the lyrics of that song he wrote where he encouraged violence--fairly graphic at that--towards Yamino, who is often considered responsible for the Derpy Debacle(even though she wasn't, but that's another thing entirely.) I haven't ever liked him, and I don't see any reason to excuse some of his more horrid behavior--and that one song is hardly the only instance of it. And whether or not he was angry at someone, to be a public figure and outright write a song like that which you then intend to perform at a convention like Everfree Northwest, in front of hundreds if not thousands of people, of all ages, including many who are trans? It's just unacceptable.

But as I said, the fandom is not all bad and has plenty of positives. Overall I like it far more than I dislike it. I just...I just really dislike certain things and wish they would improve more, but those things are usually things that are issues with society in general, not so much the fandom itself. And so, when I delve back into the majority of the fandom, I see those same things, and they sometimes upset me.

Aah, gotcha.

Never knew about those last two. You learn something new everyday.

Nother question, what is the difference between gay and queer? At least I'm assuming the G stands for gay.

Random fact: I never even knew anything other than straight and gay existed until I joined this fandom.

Queer has basically been taken as a catch-all term that can fit in all kinds of different sorts of things, encapsulate all of the different kinds of sexual orientations or gender identities or what have you that are different from heterosexual or cis-gendered(or, essentially, someone who was born X sex and identifies as X gender, the way the vast majority of people do.) It's also useful as a term for if you're not sure where else you might fit, hence why it's considered different. It's taking a long time to work its way into the mainstream, so it's going to be a while before you see many more people other than those within the queer community using it in that way.

Good to know asexuals aren't forgotten.

Agreed. Asexuals, sadly, often get shamed even by many in the queer community, because asexuality can be atrociously difficult to understand for people who are sexual. For instance, I freely admit that I find asexuality very confusing, because I am both pansexual and have a very high sex drive. But just because I don't understand something doesn't mean it's automatically wrong or horrible and shouldn't be accepted. If someone is asexual, that should not only be accepted, it should be celebrated. They are who they are, and they should be accepted as such.

I forgot to mention that it wasn't for Halloween, it was for a pep rally that we have every year where the seniors get to wear costumes.

You bastard.

And that's a terrible idea.

You bastard.

Do it bucking anyway, filly!

I've been wanting to say this for awhile.

Yea, it finally got to me.

Now to wait for her to do it with some random off topic video....

Aah. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

were should i upload the final version of Darkmere? on Zippyshare, then link it to the forums? or should i set up a Soundcloud for it?

I would set up a Soundcloud, but I have no idea how it compares to Zippyshare.

I say Soundcloud.

Don't worry, I understand every single bit of that. Even I admit YAC is not exactly easy to believe with how he is (and he could have been more decent when presenting himself). I don't know much about this, so I TRY not to be a prejudging, naive, hypocritical bastard and say something that doesn't belong or is hurtful. I can totally understand your feelings, trust me. :)

But I got confused. You like the fandom a lot, but you think that most of it is bad?...I'm slightly thrown off here (you are welcome to ignore me though).

What do you mean? I can't like cold pizza?

Of course, I'd probably prefer it hot, but still.

Oh, no. I just find it weird. :P I mean, cold pizza is all...hard and not crispy, starts getting bubblegum-y...I honestly can say I wouldn't like something like that.

I'll never half-ass a mau5head. It needs to be 100% legit before I wear it.

Well you should have done that for today/night.

Made a nice head, get some speakers either inside of them or carry it and blast his music all over the place.

I have neither the time nor money, sadly.

Maybe next Halloween.

as for sexual affinity in this thread, i really don't worry about what to call me as anymore. i used to before, when i realized i was gay, but not anymore. i just call myself as gay and not particularly caring whether i be called male or female, since both aspects fit in with me regardless.

Fuck that. As long as it's 31st on anywhere on Earth, it's still Halloween

And that Cthulhu meet Transformers, of course there would be tentacles :P
