caramba2654 602 April 19, 2013 Share April 19, 2013 Yes. A lot. First because it's pony music, and I'm very picky about my songs. So if a song is in my iPod, it means there's a reason and it deserved to be there. And most of the pony music that I have usually have some kind of story behind them, sometimes even a PMV. That's why I usually keep stuff like Beyond Her Garden, Awoken, Clouds VIP, One Trick Pony, etc... They all have something that pops up in my mind when I listen to them, while most the other non-pony songs don't bring anything at all. I won't be a complete brony until I get a Thunderlane plushie and go to a convention.
Dr. Love 88 April 19, 2013 Share April 19, 2013 Not at all, but does Weird Al, Voltaire, ERB, and Schmoyoho really count as "normal" music? Besides, pony music is normal music to me. I'll listen to any kind of music as long as it isn't crap. "Please, call me your little snow bunny" ~Mizore
rainbowninja 60 April 19, 2013 Share April 19, 2013 'normal' music?' excuse me, but will you please define this new term 'norma?'' and possibly put it in a sentence so I understand? thanks.
Dr. Nefarious 195 April 19, 2013 Share April 19, 2013 Are you guys seriously saying that any music that doesn't have anything to do with ponies is bad and not what you like? Seriously? Let me show you, let's use dubstep as an example, since about 70% of pony music is dubstep... *listen to normal dubstep song* ''This is some shit for douchebags'' *listen to same dubstep song with ONE short pony line somewhere in the middle of the song* ''This is a brilliant piece of music that deserves to be heard by many people!'' This seriously annoys me.. 2 CALL AN AMBERLAMPS! I NEED AN AMBERLAMPS!
rainbowninja 60 April 19, 2013 Share April 19, 2013 so, when exactly did I EVER say nonpony music is bad? If you read the other comments you would know that pmvs actually gave me nonpony music that I love, and is 60% I watch them in the first place. and 70% of pony music isn't dubstep. Lets go and meet the bronies. Rainbow Fun Factory Pony Waifu Skin and Bones Only a Muffin Pinkie's Brew. Ditsy Doo. Pinkie's Gypsy Song. Pinkie P Pie in the Sky must I continue? It'll Be Ok. Hazardus_Havard. 480 April 19, 2013 Share April 19, 2013 I do. It had been hours of listening to him play the same songs over and over and his friends and himself bitching at each other about him not doing well in LoL. I've given his music lots of chances and even downloaded some of it when I like it enough. It was more like I had had enough of his friends in the Skype call. I have 921 files in my music folder. Some of that is the .rars and album covers for the albums I've downloaded but most of it is music and it adds up to 5.92 gigs. I have trouble saying this, honestly but I think most of it's still pony music. I have fan-made songs and songs from the show but I also have lots of non-pony music. I can't name off the genres or artists since there's so many but some examples are Green Day, Simple Plan, Linkin Park, Eminem, Plain White T's, Ozzy, Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, Nightwish, Helloween and plenty more. I have 15,540 files in my own music folder, not including some of the ones I don't actually put in it. And yes, I've listened to a majority of the music I have. Including all the bands you have, I also have Blink-182, Sum 41, Avenged Sevenfold, Infected Mushroom, Pendulum, Crossfade, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Rob Zombie, Savage Garden, Everclear, System Of A Down, The Wallflowers, Black Sabbath, Trivium, Matchbox 20, and many more artists. I love listening to music. Branching out to other genres is a great thing you should consider. 1 Practice makes perfect; but if nobody's perfect, why practice? http://hazardus-havard.deviantart.com/ Art http://www.fimfiction.net/story/70801/an-alien-walks-amongst-us Story

Callisto 1,877 April 19, 2013 Share April 19, 2013 I actually don't listen to much pony music, believe it or not. Yeah, I like some of it, but most of it is just uninteresting to me. But, to me it isn't "not normal". If you like it, listen to it. Simple. 2 Y'know, I've been on this site for almost ten years and I've never had a proper signature. Ain't that something? Stormwind 53 April 20, 2013 Share April 20, 2013 While there are times i feel like playing winter wrap up, the gipsy bard song, swing tavi swing, etc. over my speakers i still prefer non pony music. I just dont think most fan made songs can compete with professionally written and recorded music.
Scootalove 10,689 April 20, 2013 Share April 20, 2013 I feel that it does it. I listen to pony music, since I'm usually alone in my own room while no one goes in there on weekends. So I get to listen to it, alone. 1 Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
ZomBrony 347 April 20, 2013 Author Share April 20, 2013 (edited) I have 15,540 files in my own music folder, not including some of the ones I don't actually put in it. I love listening to music. Branching out to other genres is a great thing you should consider. I'm trying to say that I have done that. I don't think I can really branch out any more than I have. Those bands I listed were just the ones off the top of my mind. I listen to so many different genres; the thing is, I don't know them very well. While there are times i feel like playing winter wrap up, the gipsy bard song, swing tavi swing, etc. over my speakers i still prefer non pony music. I just dont think most fan made songs can compete with professionally written and recorded music. I find it so hard to believe that some of you feel like this. I prefer pony music and have since I found it. And tell me; what makes Bronies unprofessional? Just because they're fans of something? I find some Brony songs that I've heard are actually better than non-pony music. Have you or anyone else that feels like that heard any songs from the following artists? Aviators, Acoustic Brony, Mandopony and Poni1Kenobi. Those four are my favourite artists period. Out of Pony and Non-Pony. I don't really know what's considered to be professional in the music industry but if my assumptions are anywhere near correct I think they're pretty professional. Xan 22 April 20, 2013 Share April 20, 2013 Yea kinda. I listen to other normal music but most of my music I listen to would be like woodentoaster or thelivingtombstone and DJAlexS ect. Especially woodentoaster he is my musical idol and I look up to him a lot and listen to him all the time and I constantly reblog his little pieces of work on tumblr. Back to the actual question though about 90% of the music I listen to has to be pony related.
--Eve-- 351 April 20, 2013 Share April 20, 2013 I love them both about equally, however, most of the 'normal' music I listen to is actually from games and shows/movies. I do get that craving for pony music though, just as I get a craving for a certain 'regular' song.
Just some guy 1,070 April 20, 2013 Share April 20, 2013 I actually don't like a lot of the pony-inspired songs.I like...maybe ten pony-inspired songs?Less than that?Anyways, most brony music I've heard has been kind of "meh" to my ears. The fact that most of the songs I seem to find made by bronies are also dubstep doesn't help that as well since they all begin to sound the same after some point. I might get an itch to play some of PinkiePieSwear's stuff to help zone out since his trance is actually good or maybe play 20 Percent Cooler by Ken Ashcorp if I want more club music, but other than that,I vastly prefer non-pony music.I don't think that will be changing anytime soon unless Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin come back from the dead and sing pony-related songs.
astalicia 4 April 21, 2013 Share April 21, 2013 When I listen to pony music, it is most of the time instrumental songs. Someone who isn't in the fandom wouldn't see the difference. I listen to pony music more often than regular music because I like it better and I think it does sound professional. I don't really like the idea to listen to something only because it's popular or because: oh, look, it's on the billboard now! I'd reather be myself and listen to stuff that I really like. If it dosen't make it... Well, I don't really think so, since most of the pony songs I have on my Ipod dosen't actually look like pony songs... I have found some many artists that I really liked in this fandom that I have difficulty keeping up with everything that come out.
ReGen 1,466 April 21, 2013 Share April 21, 2013 Absolutely not. "Regular" music is just the same as Brony music, just that it isn't related to ponies in a way. If anything, I find myself listening to less Brony music. Yeah, I said it. Not a lot of people have made music that I generally like. 1 "I keep the walking on the right side, but I won't judge the next who handles walking on the wrong. 'Cause that's how he wants to be. Dusty Soul 2,612 April 21, 2013 Share April 21, 2013 No, I can't just listen to just pony music as I have a lot of other great music on my Ipod. Pony music is just music about ponies, though I do think the pony electronic music is the best electronic music. rainbowninja 60 April 21, 2013 Share April 21, 2013 I am interested in both. there's not that big a difference to me. besides, with pony vids come pmvs, and with pmvs come songs I have never heard. 2/4 of the time I luv the song, so really without pony music I wouldn't half 2/4 of my other music. and I HATE watching pmvs I actually know
Zygen 6,066 April 21, 2013 Share April 21, 2013 Eh not exactly, but kinda. I mean sometimes I have the urge to listen to pony music if thats what your asking, and sometimes I want to listen to regular music, however I don't think my listening to pony music makes my other music feel inferior, I still like plenty of other types of music, but I do also like MLP music aswell. All depends on my mood, as with normally when I listen to music. Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! TheSupremeLeaderOfChaos 1,211 April 21, 2013 Share April 21, 2013 Most of the music I listen to is pony music. I listen to some non-pony music too, but I enjoy the pony music a lot more in most cases. I like older non-pony songs, but not many of these new songs that are on the radio nowadays. I'm not putting all of the new songs under this description, but it seems to me like most of the new songs these days have sexual innuendos woven into them. And it just gets really old and annoying. So I listen to pony music to get away from all of that. Not to mention pony music is generally happier in itself. Again, not all of it is happy, but a good amount of it is. So, a lot of the time, I feel like non-pony music doesn't cut it. Of course, there are a lot of non-pony that I love! But at the moment, I listen to a lot more pony music.
