Hey guys, I need some suggestions for some new music to put on my iPod to listen to while going on runs (Cardinal Sin of running, I know, but I really do run better listening to music! No, really!) Ideally some good old fashioned rock, with good guitar/drum action. Suggestions?

I feel like Blessed by a Boken Heart's Pedal to the Metal album is fantastic at keeping me on-pace whenever I run. It's also fantastic road trip music.

Well, what about this? I mean, since this is a pony forum, I can recommend something like this. Anyway, it is good and the album is really cheap.

As this thread seems to be about Music, I've moved it over to Media Discussion

Personally I have a lot of rap and rock music on my running playlist as it keeps you pumped up and moving. Currently these are my favourite songs to run to.

(yes they're both related to Bioshock Infinite in some way, but ignore that for now!)

I used to listen to dubstep when I went out on runs, it did t ally work though because every time the bass got dropped I would stop and just improv dance to it till the beat picked up again >< !

@,

Yeah, I know I'm shooting myself in the foot by listening to music while running, but since I don't run competitively that much, I usually run simply to train for soccer, I don't think it will be that damaging. Mainly I run to build up my endurance and stamina. I occasionally run races, but no more than a 5k at most. I'm not good at longer distances, and hit a wall at about 8 miles, which I discovered when I twice tried to run half-marathons. So I guess I'm a mid-distance runner, but I'm not partial to non-stop running, which is why I much prefer the stop-and-go style running of soccer.

How about you? Are you a distance runner?
