Yes, Chysalis, as well as any Changeling, can still shapeshift, although this abilty is limited to only shifting from human to human (They can't go back to their 'Pony' forms). and yes, the Queen should still have her crown...

 

Maybe she could even retain her distinctive eyes and fangs, to have David mistake them for contacts and vampire fangs!

There's also the Hive Mind, as in changelings can connect with any other changeling psychically. I think that would be useful in the changelings all finding each other, especially since they'd be harder to find than the pony humans. XD

Okay on the eyes, but I like the hive mind idea… both 00Pony and Pripyat had some excellent ideas on the Changeling physiology, and do long as they're only able to communicate wirh other Changelings, and not Ponies and humans, it should be fine!

Those are all excellent questions. To most of which I have no answers. But I can try to answer some:

 

As to where they come from: I saw on a Tumblr ask-blog that Changelings are both naturally born, though from something that seems sorta like a cocoon, and ponies are converted into Changelings as well.

 

As to what they feed on: I personally believe all emotions are a food source, though love is considered more of a delicacy, as it is the most wholesome, and sustains them the most. 

 

As to sexual attraction: Seeing as it is the greatest show of love, I'd believe so, yes.

 

As to how they feed on love: I'd say that they absorb the love felt for the pony they are impersonating, but if need be they can forcefully steal it from them.

 

As to the transformation abilities: From what I can glean from the show, they can transform practically instantaneously, and is some form of magic held only by Changelings. 

 

As to how they take the appearance of a pony: Again, from what I can glean from the show it seems all they have to do is see them, as with that fight between the Mane 6 and the Changelings guarding the Elements they never touched them before turning into them, so I believe all they'd have to do is see them. If they ever want to turn into them at another point in time, all they'll have to do is think about their appearance and assume it. Also I feel it would be necessary for them to kidnap a pony to take their place (as seen with Chrysalis and Cadence), and though Chrysalis didn't do so to her, their ability to forcefully siphon emotions from a pony would allow them to gain more food from the pony they kidnapped. To add on to that, I'd say they don't usually opt to force feed since they don't get as much sustenance out of it, and leaves a bad taste.

 

As to inventing their own transformations: I'd say after much studying of pony and other species' behavior, they would be able to imagine their own transformation to use when they want to walk through the civilization and possibly forge their own relationships to feed off of.

 

 

Back to the emotion as food: I'd say that positive emotions, like love, happiness, etc. are a better food source, as they get more out of them. Negative emotions, such as hate and anguish, still feed them, but not as well as positive emotions, and don't taste nearly as good.

 

But that's just my headcanon that I partially came up with on the spot.

 

 

I didn't see the Arabic Cutie Mark Challenge at first. So here goes

First off, I forgot to say that the cutie mark isn't needed if Changelings aren't supposed to have them, but now I want to try and figure out why.

 

My first idea would be that he is exceptionally good at force siphoning love, or perhaps he is very good at forging relationships to feed off of. As for a logical explanation to why it's Arabic, and to why his name is Latin, might be a bit tougher, seeing as neither of those languages technically exist in Equus, (well, maybe Arabic, since Saddle Arabia is a place). I want to say his Cutie Mark is Arabic just cause, but that doesn't seem like enough to me. Maybe the Saddle Arabians are his prime targets? Or he is just very well versed in their culture.

Jeez, that challenge is a toughy!

I also see them as being born, and of being a highly disciplined  trained species; as in, changeling foals being trained in army from the moment they can walk, which is why they are so single minded. Also, this is my head canon  they can eat regular food but get power and energy from emotions, especially love. As in basically they can sustain themselves on food but without emotions, they're weakened.

 

I'd be interested to see some of your head canon ideas. Maybe we can pool them together and come up with a universal one for the world of the RP?

Sure enough it would count as vehicular assault, and I'm sure can be viewed as assault on an officer. However, @Mister G, there is more problem with the EMP device: Real world EMP devices are fighting against a couple of basic principles of physics. The first is the inverse square law, which means the energy of the EMP drops off with the square of the distance. At 2 feet, it's got 1/4th the power it had at 1 foot. At 4 feet, it's 1/16th, etc. What this means is that for the EMP to be effective, you need an absolutely massive amount of energy. Nuclear explosions create big EMPs. Anything non-nuclear generates a much smaller EMP, and anything small and portable enough for handheld use is just too weak to be of much use at all.

Well here is my headcanon about how changelings are born. I believe their conception is natural much like the ponies, meaning that they have a father and a mother and that all changelings male AND female can give birth to another changeling. Honestly the Queen doesn't seem able to give birth to ALL the changelings. However due to the shapeshifting nature of their bodies they are unable to make a conventional delivery. Thus the fetus must be removed from the body. But in this case it requires a shield or something to cover while it grows. Thus it is entered into a pod. The places we call "hives", meaning the chambers with the pods, are just the incubation chambers. Much like a human baby nursery ward. There the caretakers togother with the parents grow up the baby changeling taking turns when doing so. (someone has to work afterall right?)

 

The races analogy.

 

I also believe there are three types of changelings much like there are three types of ponies. The changelings of agility/speed/subtuelty(aka transformations and infltrating). The changelings of Strength/Endurance/Stamina. Last but not least the changelings of Intelligence/Magic/Skills.

 

Now for the cutie mark analogy.

 

Now i believe each of these "classes" has a certain gene in their genetic code that has not fully developped. They may not have cutie marks but as they grow up these genes are tested, they evolve, the genetic code fills and they finally reach to an "evolution". Like lets say... agility has silent steps, elastic body/slippery scales e.t.c., magic/intellect changelings gain mastery in magic like illusionism, elemental magic, healing spells, and stuff like that. Strength changelings gain more muscle, hardy scales that persist on their transformations like armor, spikes on their scales e.t.c. 

 

Now for the feeding upon love and stuff.

 

I believe feelings are real magic. Meaning that they are tangible and visible (for those who can see them) upon the sky. They flow like rivers of magic. 

 

The positive emotions are like suns, they light up the place, give strength to others, enchance the aura of the other.

The negative emotions are like black holes, they dimmen the aura of the person BUT they draw strength from others or harm them.

 

This all however depends on how receptible to those emotions you are. If you dont really care... you wont be affected.

 

Now i believe the changelings have normal pony feeding needs. WAIT DONT JUDGE ME YET! I believe they can feed much like the ponies on normal food and that is required for sustenance. 

 

Now as far as it goes with the feeding. I believe they suffer from a hereditary disease i like to call "Lov-e-lipsis" (see what i did there). Now whether it is a curse, a disease, or whatever... who knows? I believe this "thing" eats their "love" or maybe their magic that is highly dependent upon invoking the emotion of "love". Now if they don't feed upon love... their magic dies, their skin withers, their holes grow. (I believe they arent born with the holes rather than they occur on the way due to this). In the end if they don't feed correctly they die due to multiple organ failure.

I belive this "hive mind" this bond that ties all the changelings togother is only possesed by the Queen and is highly bound to the crown she wears or in general her being appointed Queen. 

 

The fact that they are single minded kind of offends me so lets not incorporate this please. I believe them looking all the same is part of a changeling tactic as to making the enemy not be able to recognize them at once. Clever right?
