Soon I will be getting a 3DS and I was just wondering what games you guys play?

I would also like to know when/how long do you guys play your 3DS's for and what your favourite part about them is?

(+ Pokemon X + Y i will be getting asap! )

Pokemon is an excellent choice, and I commend you for that.

In addition, you could try out Luigi's Mansion for the 3DS, I enjoyed the first one although I haven't played this particular game.

I would also recommend Fire Emblem: Awakening, as I've heard great things about it. I'm a Fire Emblem fan, but I haven't played this one. My brother has, and he's having a blast with it.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the 3DS would also be a wise choice. That game is freaking awesome.

Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros. 2, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and Adventure Time: Hey Ice King Why'd You Steal Our Garbage are all amazing games.

I've also heard good things about Mario Kart 7, Luigi's Mansion 2, and Metal Gear Solid 3.
Pokemon X and Y look pretty good too :3

I don't really play on my 3DS often, I only really use it for Nintendo exclusives.

GET FIRE EMBLEM AWAKENING. It is the best game on the system and it will last you hours with multiple playthroughs and its extra maps.

I also recommend Super Mario 3D Land, Kid Icarus Uprising, Resident Evil Revelations(which is also coming to consoles/PC, but is worth it on 3DS to see its mind-blowing technical achievements for the system), and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate if you can't get it for Wii U. I've also played Tales of the Abyss which is okay but drags on and looks rather bad, Super Street Fighter IV which looks fantastic on 3DS but is probably better played on consoles, and Zero Escape Virtue's Last Reward which is a fantastic visual novel/puzzle game but it's a sequel to a DS game called 999 so I recommend you play that first(I did it in reverse though lol, I probably shouldn't have). I also have Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon but haven't played it because my 3DS isn't with me atm. All in all, the 3DS has a fantastic library and you should find some great games. I'd also recommend Zelda Link's Awakening DX and Cave Story from the eShop.

If You're Looking for Recommended Games, I would Say Pokemon Games such as Pokemon Rumble Blast, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, and Pokemon X & Y. For Pokemon Black & White 2 Matters, I would Recommend Pokemon Dream Radar, but the Pokemon's Level you get is based on your progress for Black & White 2. For Other Games, I Would Say Super Mario 3D Land, Kid Icarus Uprising, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

For 3DS Virtual Console Games, Well For some of us that have Ambassador Certificate and Members, We get the Free NES and GBA Virtual Console Games for the 3DS. Some of the NES Games Are Available for Download, but Some are in 3D Classics such as Excitebike, Kid Icarus, and Kirby's Adventure / Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland. What I recommend was Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX and then Later on, There Will be Oracles of Ages & Seasons available for Download.

These where the 3 games I was looking at the most, I'll probably start off with 1/2 of them to get me rolling :).

Thanks for everyone advice, I will definately look a t the super Mario and ocarina of time as well after your advice on them :D!

I would get all the 64 remakes, Ocarina of Time is amazing. In addition, I heard the new Pokemon: Mystery Dungeon game is really good.

Certainly go for the "Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D" title. On top of it being brilliant, just like the original, many of the touch ups done to the overall design(graphically and control-wise) are flawlessly presented.
I have yet to try the "Pokemon Mystery Dungeon" title, yet have heard it is a very good game. Also, save up for the new Pokemon X & Y. I may be subconsciously biased as I'm a huge Pokemon fan - but I have a very good feeling about this one.

I have to reiterate what @ said. If you like old school turn-based strategy games with awesome characters get Fire Emblem: Awakening. If you like amazing stories packed with twists and turns, that'll teach you new things, as well as great characters, and escape the room style puzzles, then get 999 (DS) and Zero's Escape:Virtue's Last Reward. I'd also like to add Mario & Luigi: Bowser' Inside Story. Its a turn based RPG and its hilarious.

Seconding Fire Emblem and Monster Hunter. Both are not only great games, but definitely in the top tier of their respective series'.

Also, Shin Megami Tensei: Soul Hacker is probably awesome. I don't have it yet, but it's SMT, and I have yet to play an SMT game that wasn't awesome.

Ocarina of Time 3d, Luigi's Mansion, and Fire Emblem are my favorites. They are full of teh winz. Ocarina of Time was a classic beforehand, and it's even better now. They smoothed out the rough edges and what was sheer brilliance they left well enough alone. Luigi's Mansion is pure light hearted fun, it's impossible to take seriously but impossible to put down. I had never played Fire Emblem before Awakening and I can say I have really missed out. This game has to be the best bang for the buck on the system.

Why, Tetris of course! You can never have a handheld console without a copy of Tetris to play on it!...

and other than that, I suppose here are some good games as well that I have played:

- Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon

- Super Mario 3D Land

- Starfox 64 3D

- The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D (SO much this)

- Kid Icarus: Uprising

I haven't played monster hunter on the 3DS, but I really enjoy the series as well. I am also eagerly awaiting the release of pokemon X and Y. Who knows, maybe I'll get my inspiration back this generation to start creating competitive teams again.

I would recommend Luigi's Mansion 2: Dark Moon. There's loads to do, an epic online mode, and it has Luigi in it! What more could you wish for?laugh.png Finally another Luigi's Mansion after a 10 YEAR WAIT!

Of course Pokemon, Pokemon is always awesome! If you have B2/W2, get Dream Radar from the eShop.

Game Freak also made HarmoKnight, which is pretty simple, but pretty complex in it's own right. Get the demo off eShop and see if you like it before getting it though, it costs $15.

If you really need it, or just want it for novelty purposes, PokeDex 3D Pro is pretty good too, again, it's $15.

I've played Kingdom Hearts [Dream Drop Distance], and really enjoyed it. If you've played any of the other KH games, I really recommend it, it's a huge step up from the 2 DS games.

Can't forget Ocarina of Time 3D. Even if you've played the N64 original, 3D is still very fun!

If you're really into platformers, or a hardcore Sonic fan, check out Sonic Generations. It is fun, but very short. Most of the extra missions will require you to spend 5 Play Coins a pop, which makes 100% completion a real pain, and the story is told through text dialouge, even though the 3DS is capable of so much more. Plus, the story is really dumbed down form the console versions.

And of course there's more that's already mentioned, like Fire Emblem Awakening, Kid Icarus Uprising and so on.

I highly reccomend you get The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

As an old fan of this game since it's first release on the N64 I think that this reboot is absolutely fantastic..And if you've never played Zelda before it's a great introduction to the series. The world & lore is fantastic and I don't think you'll be able to put it down..

Ocarina of Time has so many good traits that I'm not sure I know where to begin.

The dungeons are fantastic, the storyline is fantastic, the characters? Are fantastic! You will feel like you're trapped in the very world of the character you're controlling and if you don't you'll wish you were there. It's an absolute gem.
