What would the Mane 6 do in a war?

I still stand by Rarity being a perfect fit for an Intelligence role. She'd be a perfect female Con Mane, with her class and ability to read ponies/charm the pants off them.

 

However that's away from the battlefield. I do think that as far as actual combat goes she's best suited to be a strategist, particularly one who looks over the enemy stronghold and exploits weaknesses.

Intelligence in this context means *military* intelligence, i.e. spying.  With her ability to manipulate and charm the opposite sex, she'd be a perfect "honey pot".

To answer that question with another question:

 

Why would the Mane 6 be in a war?

 

there is a possibility of it happening in the MLP FIM world, and to prove my point here are some clues on the matter

(just to point it out a war doesn't have to be a grand scale like thousands vs thousands, note in ancient times even a conflict between groups of 20 people was considered war)

 

1st clue, war is obviously a common occurrence in equestria becoz there are equestrian soldiers 

2nd clue, ancient armor has been shown to have existed ergo battles have existed in the MLP universe

3rd clue, (this is from MLP EG though) cadence stated the need for weapons

They'd all work as part of a coalition to work towards a solution that would mean little casualties and both parties agreeing to compromise. If the enemy is a pure aggressor like Germany in WWII and won't listen to reason, they'd be part of a long-term strategy with an end goal in mind. Not just fight, fight, fight.

Logically speaking the mane six would be FORCED to be split appart due to the circumstances.

 

Twilight Sparkle - Incrediblly powerful magic BUT she is more of a leader then a fighter there is no doubt. She may want to be there with friends but because its "war" and they call cannot just charge the front line together due to their skills and circumstances.

 

Rainbow Dash would be in charge of Aerial assaults as the General and leader of the pegasi. Most likey there is a strong chance she might be with Twilight in the background of the war far from the front lines as a planner. Or be seeing action.

 

Fluttershy would have minimal to no involvment. She would merely get the animals out of harms way and problably assist nurses most likely.

 

Pinky Pie would have no involvement in a war except maybe to help keep ponies spirits up who lost their fathers and mothers or are worried about the war nearing them etc.

 

Princess Twilight Sparkle would be forced to stay behind the lines unless them and the elements are heavily needed. Since if they loose any of them, They loose.

 

Rarity would also have no involvement even more so then Pinkie Pie. Most likely Chill with Twilight as Emotional Support.

 

King Ramsey the Goat however! I have incredibally powerful physical hand to hand powers. I have musical based Healing magic and second to none in the bardic world! (Sitar is my instrument).

Plus I am physically powerful and can take any hit to the head regardless of what comes at me! After all I ram my head against the hardest things I can find as hard as I possibly can for several hours a day since I was a child and I did it all....do it all....for FUN!!!!!

 

I would be more then enough front line ground support!

I've been reading Fallout: Equestria and I think it effectively shows what the mane 6 would do in a war.

 

Twilight Sparkle becomes a magical researcher.  Trying to develop weapons that will give them an edge.

Rainbow Dash tries to increase the size of their fighting force.

Pinkie Pie tries to keep moral up and find enemies that are trying to destroy them within.

Applejack tries to find ways to improve defenses and protect others.

Fluttershy pushes for a peaceful solution.

Rarity strives to keep her friends' records clean.  Keeping their image positive in the public eye.

 

Rarity especially shines in this fic.  She worked as hard as she could to keep her friends' sanity intact; and when Zebras try to assassinate her, she wrecks them.

 

On a side note about that story: I want my life back!
