Some Random Artwork

Well, if you know good ol' Earl Hickey, you'll know I like to draw some pretty random crap that pops into my mind. Today, I have many new pieces of art to share with this here forum. Many of these are kinda dumb, but I think they are worth sharing.

First off, I'll say most of these I drew on my tablet PC in Microsoft Paint (I'm Lazy) and a few others are actually drawn in pencil on paper (In school, obviously). A couple of these pictures I may have posted before, but I think it was only one or two of them, so it's all groovy.

I'll list them here and list the names under the photo to reference as well.

First, we have the album cover from Toby Keith's "American Ride" single. (Original album cover posted next to the drawing).

Second, we have a random-ass Rainbow Dash drawing.

Third I drew what Earl Hickey (From the show "My Name is Earl") would look like as a pony.

Fourth, I drew Earl pony again in the opening shot from "My Name is Earl".

Fifth we got a drawing of my original character which I named "Brazen Orange Metallic" after the paint color on my 2006 Pontiac GTO 6.0 Liter LS2 with a six-speed manual transmission.

Sixth I done made this interesting picture of Hank Hill grilling Bubbles from the Power Puff Girls (I have nothing against the Power Puff Girls, it was just my buddy's idea)

Seventh is what I like to call "The Highway Ponies". It's just a drawing of some ponies from the show and a VW Bus.

Eighth is what Rainbow Dash would look like as a NASCAR driver, along with her car and her signature.

Ninth is a drawing of Applejack and Rainbow Dash in a bar scene just as it's beginning to close. I call it "Hope on the rocks" after a song by Toby Keith.

Tenth and finally is just a random drawing of Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie advertising for Budweiser.

Kinda a drawing to make fun of a lot of stuff, pretty damn random but funny.

Bar scene. I know Rainbow Dash is missing wings, but I like it still and am too lazy to fix it. I call it "Hope on the Rocks"

That's all for now, I'm sure I make some more soon and toss em' in another post. Enjoy.

Ha, thanks for the entertainment! Though you are needing to add Rarity to that checklist of yours, for what you did to her up there! You have a nice grasp of perspective, which is something I am still fighting for myself. Keep on keeping on.

You a very welcome, thank you kindly for the comment, It is much obliged buddy!

Yeah, even though i'm not a big Rarity fan, it's only fair to add her to my list... Those cacti could form a gang and possibly violently murder her out there on the side of the road.

Thanks for the compliment on the perspective, that is one thing I like about my drawings. The depth in the pictures is what I think makes a image create a feel and some curiosity on the side.

Keep on keeping on too buddy, eventually you'll grab the perspective concept just right. It just takes a little patience and practice!

These are really really good. I mean that.  Way better than what I can do. It's uncanny how well you can draw vehicles. I guess I'll repeat this but your take on perspective is really good, especially the bar scene. I also really appreciate your drawing with Hank in it, King of the Hill is one of my favorite cartoons. I am also a fan of My Name is Earl as well so I found Karma is Magic very nice.

Nice drawings? Ugh im jealous now :( Lol maybe you could give some lessons on how to draw? I can only draw cutie marks, but not their bodies like that.

Thank you! A big tip I can give you on drawing that I found to benefit myself the most would be this: Never try too hard, the more time you spend trying to get one thing right on a drawing, the less time you spend on the other parts of the drawing. To me, it's more important to come up with something out of the ordinary and draw it out roughly than draw something that has been done before really really well. It's great ideas that light up the dark road, not old re-made ideas.

If you are looking for more of a tip on the pony bodies, then I have this to say as well. Usually folks will say to try and block out the anatomy and draw circles n' crap, but personally, I never found that to work. Just put your pencil to the paper and keep on trying to freehand it out time after time. On ponies I like to start with either the nose or the eyes and build from there. Usually I found the best drawings I ever made were really late at night when I was tired out of my mind or when I was bored and tired sitting in school. Trying to quickly become great at something will always backfire like a old worn down engine in a 66' Ford Country Squire.

Just keep on keepin' on and you'll get it down.

Thank you! I appreciate your comment.

I always had a fascination of the automobiles and expressed it by drawing them out (Even if it did take a while to get it down) I'm pretty sure my perspective came from drawing so many vehicles because I never tried things like the bar scene until just recently.

King of the Hill is also one of my favorite shows, I have seen all of them via Netflix and wish they had continued it on longer, same with My Name is Earl, both of the shows were great and they definitely needed to stick around longer.

Thanks again for the comment, it is much obliged!
