What Jobs Will Twilight Have as Princess?

After having seen Equestria Girls, and afterwards reading the summary on mlp.wikia.com, I was just curious as to what royal duties Twilight Sparkle is supposed to have. Does this mean it will be like how the Beatles described what Beatlemania was like? They said that it was all a bunch of rooms and a bunch of cars, like they were prisoners of some sort. How am I supposed to buy that Twilight Sparkle is going to be wandering around Ponyville without any guards or someone trying to assassinate her? I mean, what's her duty right now. Be a prisoner to her own fame?

I'm not actually sure.  Cadence didn't really seem to have any royal duties before she became the ruler of the Crystal Empire.  Hell, she was a babysitter before that.  Come to think of it, why exactly was a princess babysitting for a non-royal pony anyway?

The only thing I came up with on that is that 'Princess' must mean something completely different there than here. Or maybe not. There's a good number of princesses and princes running around in RL that have no authority or royal duties, or money for that matter.  Europe and the Middle East are clogged with effectively meaningless royalty and nobility. Most of the big houses, castles, and whatnot, have been turned into bed-and-breakfasts and hotels run by people with a variety of titles. At least that's the impression the travel brochures my wife is always getting give.

Twilight's royal duty is to entertain Luna and be Luna's gamer companion while celestia is gone or busy.

seriously though, her only duty is probably just to keep doin what she's been doing. protect the elements and equestria, and continue existing so when celestia retires, twilight can take her place.

Twilight: Ok Celectia I'm a princess now! so what do I need to do!

Celectia: Absolutely noting. Sit in Canterlot look good, go see the ponies from time to time and yeah that's it.

Twilight: but I mean what? I.. come on you must do something?!

Celecita: Oh I do I bring the sun up! then back down so Luna may bring the moon up! other then that just sit here, Collect your paycheck and yeah.

Luna flys in.

Twilight: Luna! you must do something as a princess right?!

Luna: yeah bring the moon up, bring it down so my sister may bring the sun up and then collect my paycheck. oh that and go see the ponies from time to time.

 

That's kind of how I see it going down, I mean I LOVE Luna great deal same with celectia but they don't do much sure they have helped A LOT, when they need to but most of the time it's just the mare 6! that do all the work(which is not a bad thing...) But I'm sure some pony is going to chew my head off for just trying to be funny about this... But maybe Twilicorn can learn something from being a princess I don't really like her to be one, I don't hate her for it or anything it just makes me sad cause all I can think about is her living in canterlot and not being with her friends or doing anything anymore etc ahhh. For all I know things may be the same even if twilight is a alicorn now, and for all I know maybe she can learn some new things and maybe even teach us all a thing or two. ahh I just hope it all works out in the end cause if not I'm going to cry

As seen in EQG, she and her friends live in the crystal empire.

she might stay in ponyvill since all her friends are there and celestia is pretty understanding 

 

also since she is a princess she doesn't HAVE to move to Canterlot. Princess Cadence lives in the crystal empire.

So she doesn't live in Ponyville anymore, but then again she might get her own kingdom. TWILOPIA?!?

I think she will have new responsibilities and that might affect the direction of her but not all the other ponies. Twilight is obviously going to have more royal duties now, but the other ponies will still be in ponyville, maybe the series will be more focused on twilight now i dont know, its hard to say if its good or bad at this point it really is the only way anyone can know is time.
