What do you love about Pinkie Pie that makes her so hilaritastic?

Title says it all. If anyone sees what I did there, they get a cupcake. But seriously, what do you love about Pinkie?

For me, it has to be her love of having fun and partying. She reminds me of me, but not in the scale of how she has fun. At other times, she can be just plain crazy, to the point where she outright defies the laws of physics. Absolute LOLs by that time. Over to you then bronies! Say what you see

Well, my personal favorites are Princess Luna, Rainbow Dash, and Spike, but of course I LOVE Pinkie. She's hilarious and tries to bring happiness to everypony else, even if they're feeling down.

Her randomness :)!

Exactly like me in real life, I just love being random and find it very funny because it related to me :P.

I also imagine she would respond really badly to caffeine and I definitely go through some "pinkie esc" relationships of caffein (to the point where i avoid mountain dew unless i REALLY wanna go crazy haha

I love how she pulls random sh*t out of nowhere. But the one moment where she truly made me crack up sooo damn bad, was when she jumped into a lake, quietly. I had to replay that so many times to completely understand wtf she just did. Ohhhh godness. What else? I love it when she laughs, puts a smile on my face everytime.

I love her randomness, hilarity and utter defiance in the face of physics. Of course, I also love Pinkie because she can find genuine, untainted happiness in the delight of others and just loves to make people smile; I think the world needs more people like that, although maybe not quite so hyper and extreme all the time. XD

She also interests me because she had one of the first darker moments (in my own humble opinion at least) in the show, when she started hallucinating during Party of One. I had to remind myself I was watching a little girls show about pastel coloured ponies! Then there's the fact that in Party of One, Pinkie began to suspect that her friends were planning things behind her back, and excluding her. I've been in a similar situation (don't worry, it got better-ish XD) and let me tell you, it feels devastating to realise you're not just being paranoid. Even though it later turned out Pinkie was mistaken, I still really felt for her during that episode.

Compiling some of my Pinkie quotes from here and there, as the thing I've done most on this forum is bound around loving the hell out of Best Pony.

First of all, her ridiculously kind outlook:

I know I've already stated my love for Pinkie, but I'm back again. There must be, quite literally, over a thousand different reasons as to why Pinkie Pie is best pony.

For example, here are 40 seconds of Pinkie Pie.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4Z0x80c7Gg

In this scene you get:

- A ridiculously and wonderfully out-of-nowhere (and super catchy) song for her friends about a new party

- An enormous amount of enthusiasm representative of her energy and optimism

- An adorable backwards trot when singing to Twilight

- The cutest voice crack on the word "party"

- The combined classiness and innocence of her in a tuxedo

- The lovable attachment to her pet Gummy in the same tuxedo

- An even more adorable hoof-pedal when singing to Applejack after firing party cannons

- Her remarkable talent for quick-change

- Her desire to surprise and entertain her friends with her song goes as far as to taking the hot air balloon to Rainbow's cloud house

- When she tries to keep dancing at the end having sung the song and quick-changed five times... I mean, just look at her little hooves bumbling around, it's so sweet you'll get diabetes.

Yes, all that in a 40-second scene.

I could go on for the rest of the night if I wanted to, with all her other scenes. Pinkie Pie is, by a thousand miles, the happiest, jolliest, silliest, deepest, most entertaining, most enthusiastic, most adorable, most talented, most optimistic and, above all, the best pony. Find me a more delightful pony. I dare you.

You already know what I'm going to say. Pinkie Pie is the most delightful character in the show. Watching her and her simple adorable pleasures of making others happy, makes me equally happy. I love the boundless energy, the spontaneousness of her singing and thought processes, the "otherworldly" essence to her that you get with her random pockets of knowledge and defiance of physics; I love how applicable her motivations in life are. I also love how even when she provides all the comic relief for the show, she is still astonishingly complex as a character. That's symbolic of how successful the show has been with the part the writers play in circumventing all those things we dislike about cartoons. Pinkie Pie is a pony you can come to absolutely adore for those little things about her. I ceaselessly love her; she truly is best pony smile.png

It's from no more than observation to tell you that Pinkie Pie is the town's charmer. There is bordering on nothing that pleases her more than making sure there is a sparkling and thriving community in Ponyville. She's the one with all the entertainment and alleviation from stress for every pony living there. She knows everyone, and everyone knows her. When you're the biggest party animal in town, you're the most popular and the pony to turn to for a brightened day.

It was confirmed in the finale - she embodies optimism. Pinkie Pie is not a pony to give up, and she's always expressed it. When she's got her goal, be it guiding parasprites out of town or welcoming in a new member, she will go to extraordinary lengths to make sure it's completed, embracing lessons that may come out of it. It's only natural that the other ponies have a sense of inspiration when seeing Best Pony at her brightest. They want to be like that - they want to have not a worry in the world. That's the ultimate goal in the end - you're never going to do something unless there's satisfaction at the end of it. She knows it, and she grasps it by the scruff of the neck.

Her amazingly appealing character design and voice acting:

You are all extremely lucky that I'm on my netbook, otherwise you'd be drowning in the most adorable Pinkie Pie pictures by now. This vector straight off of Google Images, on the other hand, should just about prove my point:

img-1516303-1-Canterlot_Castle_Pinkie_Pi

Okay, let's start with the eyes. We all know that Pinkie Pie has nothing on her mind but wild happiness. She's clearly the youngest of the Mane 6, so we most associate her with pure innocence and a desire to do good. It's like the world's friendliest girl scout making you a cake. And those eyes reflect everything about that - they're circular, which shows purity, and the irises themselves you could just get lost in. Plus look how wide they are when she's happy - those are eyes of bliss img-1516303-2-wub.png

Now, look at that mane. Pinkie Pie loves to party and be bubbly, to the point that even her mane is puffy and bouncy. Her mane shape matches her character... can you really tell me that isn't one of the cutest things ever? <3

And then her voice. My gosh, Pinkie has a voice that anyone will love. It bubbles and jumps in every sentence because Pinkie can rarely contain her hyperactivity, and it's the youngest sounding - it matches her to a T, and when sets match, you get a cuter full package.

But how about cute moments? Okay, one of an absolute ton of examples is the Smile song. On top of an adorable singing voice, watching Pinkie Pie being able to please other ponies, singing about how nothing makes her happier, even with the flickers in her singing to express her joy - that is so admirable, and considering we already picture Pinkie to be young, it amplifies the cuteness only in so many means. img-1516303-3-smile.png

Another scene:

Y'know, before this scene Pinkie was actually trying to keep calm and composed, because she wanted to try and focus on finding her Mirror Pool. She starts reciting the Nana Pinkie story, but simply can't keep her impulsiveness under control and has to let off with a "What was that?! I heard a voice!" And then, satisfied, she giggles and continues. If you don't think that's adorable, you have apathy on a dangerous level! Also look at her eyes grow wide in sudden fear... I want to give her a hug right then and there <333

I haven't even scratched the surface, by the way. Sure, Fluttershy is cute, but she has nothing on Pink Perfect Pony.

Pinkie Pie has one of the most appealing singing voices out of, actually, any artist I've heard sing. Her voice has such a bubbly flair to it, as if she's full to brimming with joyon every syllable - I love the little giggle that slips its way into some of the words; Ilove everything about her singing. The Smile song is the most played song on my Winamp for a reason. img-1307307-1-wink.png

It is a real treat and joy to hear Pinkie break into song, in any situation. She has a wonderful singing voice, which bubbles of its own accord, shines its own musical happiness and really brings an episode to life img-1295020-1-smile.png Her Smile song is just blissful, it's the most played song on my Winamp. I have never yet disliked any songs she has given to us, and it's definitely going to stay that way.

Some stuff on how Best Pony has Best Pet:

Pinkie Pie and Gummy without a doubt. Pinkie Pie is the most hyperactive pony around, and her pet is the most stationary character around. It's the contrast that makes the pair so effective. Gummy, being the most chillax alligator ever, somehow makes Pinkie Pie seem even more energetic, and even more silly in the fact that she would bond so well with an alligator like that. Best pony's pet was always going to be best pet.

Don't even get me started on how cute they are together. You know how Pinkie Pie goes out of her way to do random good deeds to everyone? Well, when she does it for her own little Gummy, throwing a party, she's so proud and happy of the fact that she's celebrating an event which Gummy would take absolutely no interest in. Just watch Gummy throughout the Singing Telegram - he couldn't give two damns about whether he's getting a party, but Pinkie Pie thinks he does... and that's just astoundingly cute <33

To further prove my case about how cute they are together, here's just one of many pictures that show how freakin' adorable the two are smile.png

She enjoys her life, to the fullest...

That´s about it, she figured out what a lot of people haven´t found out about themselves, and that´s how she can be happy.

That includes being funny, random, creative, making people happy/ cheering them up when they are feeling down, and being (kinda) serious when she needs to be.

She more or less represents what I wanna be for my friends (except for being a pony and having a pink skin, maybe... xD).

I think 'A Friend in Deed' was the episode that really got me on board with Pinkie Pie. I always liked the character for being funny and full of amusing songs, but it wasn't until we saw how dearly she is loved and needed by the citizens of Ponyville that I saw how wonderful she is. She always goes out of her way to help lift up someone who is down in the dumps, and you can't ask for a better friend than someone as optimistic and eternally happy as Pinkie Pie. She is the essence of joy, and that makes her a very special character. I know whenever I feel depressed, I'll watch any episode of Pony and Pinkie will always do something that cheers me up. smile.png

And she's just playing hilarious besides. I actually think her humor has improved since season 1, and I rarely ever find her to be not funny.

Pinkie is best pony, partially because she is the most underrated element: laughter.

Laughter is thought by some to be something that can be done without. It is sometimes deemed frivolous and unnecessary to life. However, the truth is that it brings out the best in others, having them reach their full potential. I see Pinkie as somewhat of the medic of the six, in that if the other ponies feel insecure about a task or lose their purpose, Pinkie restores their spirits. True we see the other five do this for each other every now and then, yet Pinkie is this everlasting beacon of hope and optimism that can sometimes be hard to see directly since it is wrapped in a very random and colorful package.

Wow, that's pretty much Pinkie in a nutshell that isn't even fit to be a nutshell. While she's also good at being the medic, I'd rather call her the comic relief of the Six, again for the same purpose you mentioned. Tbh, what I love about her is that she's just so random, especially in "Swarm of the Century when she rambles on about missing instruments throughout the episode (best of the lot had to be the trombone. She brings it up just moments after devouring Celestia's cake and I was like "rofl")

I know I have said this before, but Pinkie Pie is not just my favorite pony - she is my favorite fictional character.  She seems to be happy most of the time.  Her biggest goal in life is to make others smile.  Her antics are hilarious.  And she is super adorable!

One thing that I absolutely love about Pinkie is actually something I strive for myself. She's nice to everyone she meets and just wants to be their friend to see them smile. I personally think that trait she has just makes her no only absolutely adorable, but just extremely kind and caring.

As for other aspects about her, I grew up with the old Loony Toons and Tom and Jerry cartoons, so her brand of slapstick humor, fourth wall breaking and just all-around randomness is something that hits me right in the childhood in a fantastic way.

The sheer randomosity for one. I've always been one to find random antics to be hilarious, and Pinkie always delivers in that department. Rainbow Dash said it best:

It also helps that I find the 4th wall to be one of the most potent tools in comedy, and Pinkie knows just how to break it.

However, she also has something that solidly places her among the best ponies in my mind: the fragility of her psyche. Her whole existence is making others happy. As we've seen through "Party of One", any threat to that results in a complete psychological one-eighty. In my mind, that makes her more of a unique character. Not really fitting in with the "hilaritastic" idea of the thread, but a reason I love her nonetheless.

It also helps that she taught Gummy some of the best moves in town. I mean, look at this!

I think Pinkie's randomness and hyperactivity kind of overshadows the best and most important part of her personality.

She is always happy (almost), she says that everyone is her friend and she means it sincerely. She cares for everyone in ponyville. Sometimes, that can be a great burden on someone. But Pinkie prevails, she has the inner strength to not only deal with her own inner demons (party of one being the exception), as well as everyone elses.

Being overly hyper can sometimes gain you the title of simpleton or idiot or jester, and honestly Pinkie is used the most out of the mane 6 for comic relief.... but sometimes I think Pinkie uses this as a ploy to defuse frustrating and sometimes very bad situations. What I get from Pinkie, is she has a sense for this kind of thing. And knows just how much randomness she needs to give somepony before they will catch on to what she's throwing out there.

We get to see Pinkie's fragility in party of one. This episode totally sold me on her as a character. It shows you that she has doubts about herself just like any other pony. The difference is she normally can defeat her inner demons because she knows that her efforts are valued by her closest friends. When she thought they no longer loved or appreciated her, she was completely destroyed. Even in her madness she initially attempts to defend them to Rocky who calls them a bunch of losers.

Another allusion to this part of her character, is in the Smile Song. During the bridge, there's a Pinkie in the shadows who is sad and upset. A happy Pinkie reaches down and pulls her up on top of a hill and in to the sunshine. An absolute perfect testament to her inner strength.

And finally, during the Magical Mystery Cure, in a true true friend, the entire town is in a terrible mood because Pinkie is not there to cheer everyone up. It's amazing how quickly the ponies of ponyville turn to bitterness without her. And, idk if anyone else feels this way, but as Applejack shoves her out infront of the crowd, and everyone screams "PINKIE!" It def puts a tear in my eye everytime because quite literally, the entire town NEEDS her.

Pinkie may not be my favorite, but she does have some pretty admirable (and adorable) qualities.

She's always looking on the bright side of everything, and she tries to share her optimistic and cheerful attitude to everyone she meets.

Also, every so often she has that wonderfully bizarre, but brilliant idea that at times could compete with a plan from the great mind of Twilight.

I love everything about Pinkie Pie. Everything about her makes me smile even when she goes crazy.

My favourite things about her are:

  • Her cheery voice.
  • Her randomness.
  • Gummy.
  • Her songs.
  • Chimmy Cherry Chonga (my new favourite phrase since I watched the last round up).

Pinkie is the essence of fun and a free spirit.  She knows just what to do to brighten everyone's day and is almost always happy.  Pinkie is a ray of sunshine that illuminates the dark corners of equestria and eliminates gloom.  You also can't forget her randomness and 4th wall breaking abilities!

Pinkie would be the first pony I'd call if I was feeling down.  She'd be fun to be around and it would be hard to stay sad around her.  It's always nice having friends like that, which is one reason why Pinkie has grown on me so much smile.png
