Relationships in season 4? [Equestria Girls spoilers]

Since the movie gave Twilight a cannon crush, could they be working on some relationship stuff for season 4?  Obviously it won't be anything lovy dovy.  That isn't what the show is about, but if the characters are going to grow...

 

It is confirmed that some stuff regarding Spike and Rarities relationship will be in season 4.  I'd say it is very likely that we'll se some FlashLight as well.  Twilight has reached the full understanding of friendship, why not a relationship?

 

The only other main character I think they can explore in a relationship is Rainbow Dash.  Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie are still to immature and AJ just seems like she wouldn't care about that stuff.  At least that's what I think.  What about everypony else?

I don't know how much time they'll spend on Twilight, since they already gave her a full-length movie. They might touch on it once or twice, however.

 

I think, as far as relationships go, they'll focus on Rarity and Spike. That has already long been established as at least a one-way crush, so it only makes sense to build on it.

 

Rainbow Dash doesn't seem the dating type. I could see Applejack being torn between staying on the farm or chasing after a love interest, to be honest.

it kind of seemed to me the Twilight relationship would be played out some more, I think it makes sense, she's a princess now and her brother is a royal guard, he married a princess, it would make sense for her to marry a royal guard, they have to do a balancing act with her though to stay on track with the main storyline with the rest of the mane 6

I am pretty sure that Flash won't be in S4, but then again, Tweets aren't law. I would LOVE to see Flashlight more, especially anfter all that lip biiting lol. I don't really think there will ever be a Spike and Rarity coupling because I mean, Rarity is a young woman(mare, lol) and Spike is described so many times as a BABY. So, it's just a crush and a humoring of that crush. Thats it. Thats like shipping Cream and Shadow....oh waaaaait.....yuck.

Well its been confirmed that Flash won't be appearing in S4, which is something alot are happy for, of course some are disappointed, but they did promise this wouldn't affect the cannon show and I guess they have to keep that.

 

I found the crush to be cute personally, seeing Twilight react to aspects of it, but it would take some development of Flash to make him interesting as a character.

 

I'm sure the relationship will live on through fan art and fanfics and such.

 

I think the only relationship that will be showing up is with Rarity and Spike, maybe Rarity will fall in love with some other Stallions, while Spike tries to get her to love him, however I don't think even they will actually get into a relationship really. They'll stay friends I think and thats about it I think.

 

Anyways, I'm drifting off topic, but Flash and Twilight isn't going to be in S4 apparently. I'm kinda neutral on it, so it doesn't totally affect me either way, I can see the reason for either side of the situation.

Pretty sure the official stance is that only side characters will get developed romances (Such as Shining/Cadance), to keep it from even the possibility of taking over a Mane's characterization. I actually would prefer it to stay that way; there are so many ways to explore the characters that are (IMHO) more interesting than a long-term romance. Now, a 1-episode thing (like Rarity/Blueblood ), that's perfectly fine.

THANK THE GODDESS BRAD IS NOT IN S4. Sorry, but while it was mildly cute (for five minutes), that whole romance was my idea of this kind of stuff done badly and shallowly. I'm actually all up for well done romances, but not that. That was cringe-inducing.

I already said this in another thread, but I pray to god that we never see Brad/Flash Sentry ever again. On the other hand, I'm always open to see some romance, hell seeing Rainbow Dash attempt to be in a relationship would be pretty damn entertaining if not potentially hilarious

It's been confirmed by Meghan McCarthy that Flash Sentry won't be a character in season 4, which I'm a little sad about. That relationship could have developed.

But I have a feeling that they might delve into the whole romance genre, cos pretty much every show has it at some point, and I'd also be really exciting to see our favourite characters getting crushes! 

I agree with you that Pinkie, Fluttershy and AJ probably won't be interested in that kind of thing, but I think there's potential for Rainbow Dash! If there is a romantic episode in season 4, I would love it, I'm sure I would! (unlike most bronies)

I don't think they are going to touch Twilight a lot, but may be touch sometime or another depending on how many episodes that Hasbro will have on Season 4. But having Flash removed from Season 4 may have a bad chance that this season will be good.

However, having crushes on season 4 may be a good idea, like an episode about Rarity and Spike as an example.

If a mane 6 pony is going to have a relationship, I want it to be a developed character, not just some random guy. Oh god no, just no. Leave the shipping to the fanfics authors. Canon relationships would take a lot of appeal out of the characters in my opinion and there is still Shining/Cadence left for romance moments

Flash Sentry...I think he worked, for what it was. Not a great character by any means, but he still worked. The reactions to him by Twilight were, in my opinion, incredibly cute. I honestly would love to see more of this. A relationship for Twilight or any of the mane 6 would be a great development idea. I know many do not like the idea, but I think it could work well as long as it is not emphasized too much. It might be when it is first done, but they can simmer it down and make other things take priorities later on. This is one of the many aspects of the movie that I do hope gets carried over into season 4 somehow.

Dafuq? Get Flash in Season 4? Do you guys have any idea how TV works? Season four is completed. It ceased being in production pretty much when they announced Equestria Girls. They had the recording done almost a year ago. Come on, guys, play smarter. I Don't know exactly how the animating thing works, but I do know that everything is already go for the premier. I don't think they can just be adding characters like that lol

Ehhhh, no... Meghan tweeted a few weeks back or so that she loved the words, "Locked Script". I'm pretty sure she's talking about writing for MLP, which would mean that, for at least one episode, the script was only just completely finished. Also, there's been a few VAs tweeting about going in for recording for MLP, which would also mean that the recording isn't done either.

 

On topic, though...

 

OH GOODNESS ME OH MY I HOPE NOT. I like MLP the way it is. Fun and adventurous, with some funny "romance" thrown in at times. I think having any real (sorry, Sparity fans... ) relationships would kinda ruin the whole feel of the show. The boys would always have to follow the Mane 6 on their adventures (I mean, otherwise they'd look like a bunch of wusses), which would kinda ruin it for me. I don't want MLP to turn into some lovey-dovey, barf-your-guts-out, cringe-worthy stereotypical highschool drama. EqG escaped that stereotype by not focusing much at all on Twilight and Flash's "relationship", and having it be more of a side-dish.

Flash was a great character in the movie, but I can understand why there won't be any TwiFlash in Season 4. Twi's gonna be too busy learning to be a princess, that she won't have time for romance. I still think Sparity (SpikexRarity) is ok, but it's more of a one-way crush thing. Rarity just thinks Spike is cute and adorable but nothing more, at least from what I've seen. After all he is a BABY dragon! I mean make the little guy grow a bit before you pair him up. Now with RD and AJ it's a challenge. I seriously can see AppleJack in a relationship more than Rainbow Dash. Although it would be kind of interesting to see some flirting going on between Rainbow and Soarin. Pinkie Pie is way too immature and is just FRIENDS with everypony, can't see her getting serious for a special somepony anytime soon. Flutters is too shy to approach any strangers voluntarily, and if somebody approachs her she just cowers, don't think a guy would be interested in that, unless he's persistent. But seeing Flutters with a special somepony would be VERY interesting, same goes for Pinks!

I'm sorry but I absolutely hate the idea of including Flash Sentry into season 4 for the sole purpose of being Twilight's love interest. It just throws everything off and it would be completely unnecessary.

 

I'm also one that hates canon shipping because the only thing it does is cause disorder within the fandom hopefully the writers veered off of shipping save for the episode with Spike and Rarity. That's the only exception between the main characters because they've established that in the pilot.

 

The reason I hate FlashLight pairing is because Twilight essentially gets a crush on a guy she's known for like a day or 2. It's out of character specifically for her because she just falls into it.

 

 

Needless to say I'm very happy Flash Sentry won't be in Season 4.

I agree with you on not having one of the Mane Six fall in love with some random new character, so I think it would be cool if they introduced a new character right at the start of the season, and then allow the relationship with whoever it is from the Mane Six to grow over the whole season, and then they could get together in the last episode or something! :3

Thank the Lord, Brad will not be in Season 4. It was cute for like half a second, then I was over it. By the way, I don't know about you guys, but I'm not calling him his real name. Brad fits so much better. I just couldn't stand it if this show turned into girls trying to figure out relationships. I have enough of that crap in my life, I don't need it in my favorite show. I wouldn't stop watching by any means, but I wouldn't like it very much. So YAY, NO BRAAAADDDD!!!!!!

 

Edit: I'm gonna rephrase a little. I might like a relationship if it was done really well, and was really drawn out over time, so we can get to know the crush. But please, no more random stallions.

As the entire show is built on relationships between characters, it would be nice to see some romantic interest touched upon, though. Sparity in particular could use more development.

She could have just said that because everybody was freaking out and saying they were leaving the fandom so that people might actually give the movie a try. Let's hope she just meant hes not a main character and that he will hopefully make a cameo in an episode
