What's your opinion on Sonic the Hedgehog

   In all seriousness, I have been a Sonic fan for several years now, and have loved almost every one of the Sonic the Hedgehog games. Despite my personal happiness, however, I have noticed the backlash Sonic games (from the 2004-2007 period) have gotten over the years, and I have to say, I'm glad that began to change with Unleashed, Colors, Episode 4 (Parts 1 and 2), and Generations.

Rainbow Dash IS actually faster than Sonic. Allow me to explain. In Sonic's plain form, he can go at mach 2 speeds. At Super Sonic (Or Hyper Sonic. Whichever you want to call it) he can go at mach 4 speeds. RD is faster either way.

I've played a few Sonic games, nothing really special to me. Their fanbase did seem to have a tendency to be pretty childish and shove things down others throats a few years back (much like the brony fandom today!), but that seems to have calmed down alot. Many of my good friends happen to be fans of Sonic, so I really can't see it as being too bad. It doesn't seem like something I'd ever really feel a need to get into.

 

Oh, and type in your name followed by "the hedgehog" on Google Images, hilarity ensues. Some bad, bad, bad OCs.

I was a Sonic fan for 3-4 years. I lost general interest in mid-2007. I still like Sonic as a character and I love the music from all the games, even the ones I never played. The fandom has a bad reputation, and I pity that.

The fanbase. Don't even get me started on the freaking fanbase. Most of it consists of childish fans who are NEVER satisfied until they get what they want. And, even then, they still aren't content. You can't have an opinion on anything either.

I typically keep away from Sonic forums. Because there's always that one person that is on that part of the fanbase that makes the franchise a terrible place to be a part of.

Because of that, I just stick to what I know best; the comics and the games.

Is it bad that I actually enjoyed Sonic '06? Well, I will admit that I cringed at the kissing scene, but pretty much everything else, I either didn't mind, or was completely fine with. I didn't mind the long loading times, and I don't actually recall encountering any glitches that directly interfered with the gameplay. In fact, I actually recall encountering more glitches in both Sonic Adventure games than in this game. It took very little time to know what to do when I was fighting Silver, (I actually found his constant ITSNOUSEITSNOUSEITSNOUSE to be more laughable than irritating) and I actually really like him as a character. Does anyone else feel this way, or is it just me?

 

But other than that, yes I am quite a big Sonic fan, even though I find the fanbase incredibly annoying.

Good ol' Sonic the Hedgehog. I haven't thought about that guy in a long while. I gotta say, I miss the old games. I was a huge Sonic fan when I was younger, but he has kinda slipped my mind as of late. I'm ashamed really. I love Sonic the Hedgehog with all my heart and I am really hoping that SEGA learns not to keep trying to milk things out of Sonic that just are not there. He is a speedy blue Hegehog, not a surfer or brawler.

I don't really like any of the games post-Shadow though, besides Chronicles.

I've been a hardcore Sonic fan since 2002. SA2 and S3&K are my favorite Sonic games.

I saw the movie twice in theaters - once by myself on the 13th, then again with some friends on the 22nd.

There was a change in Sonic Team's management at that time. Yuji Naka stepped down, and Takashi Iizuka took his place. It can be that simple, or maybe not!

Has a few great games, but it went downhill after Sonic 06. To the point that I don't even really regard Sonic as a really good franchise, let alone a great one.

 

As for the fanbase? Well, they're toxic, and I think they may even have a part to play in the decline of the franchise. I mean their reasons for saying Shadow the Hedgehog is bad are not only nonsense, they're really stupid and much better indicators of how toxic they are than of the game's real quality.
