So, I've been into Surf Rock as of late. Is anybody here fond of this genre?

Some examples include:

The Ventures - Pipeline

The Lively Ones - Surf Rider

I haven't heard any of the songs on your list except for Misirlou (I really like Pulp Fiction haha), but I am a big fan of the Dead Kennedys whose guitarist uses a lot of surf rock techniques.

It's definitley a genre I've been meaning to get in to, because I really like what I've heard from the genre. I'll keep those artists/bands in mind.

I have listened to a few songs from that genre. It actually seems that only a relative handful of surf rock artists had singles chart success back in the early-to-mid '60s, and a lot of those were one-hit wonders. Some of these artists that I've listened to are:

 

The Ventures - had a few Top 40 hits, including "Walk - Don't Run" which peaked at #2 in 1960; more popular as an album artist

The Surfaris - most famous for "Wipe Out" which peaked at #2 in 1963 and #16 in 1966

The Chantays - they had the hit single version of "Pipeline" which peaked at #4 in 1963

The Pyramids - hit #18 in 1964 with "Penetration"

Dick Dale and The Del-Tones - although a more famous group now, actually never had a Top 40 hit 

 

I like a lot of Beach Boys and Jan & Dean songs, but I guess they might be classified more as surf pop than surf rock per se.

I think I have heard some surf rock and it seems pretty cool actually, although I rarely listen to stuff from back then. But there is this one song I like and I don't know what it's called though :/

Surf rock is pretty awesome. Dick Dale and The Ventures are both pretty amazing. Might as well drop this link off to check out some classics. .
