Seriously?

...Seriously, guys? Am I gonna have to be the one who says it?

*Sigh* Fine...

You guys disappoint me...

Quite frankly, no death in any Shounen has ever made me too emotional or even cry for that matter.

Clannad:

When it comes down to being depressed and crying, I'd say Ushio's death in Clannad. I couldn't get over that. I actually still can't get over that.

Dammit Clannad.

Fullmetal Alchemist/Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood

Maes Hughes death in both were quite sad, but what makes his death even more sad in both versions is when they are at his funeral and daughter doesn't understand what is going on.

I find Nina's death to be more sad and tragic than Hughes though. What her father does to her is horrible, and when she speaks, it's like someone ripping out my heart. Then she is killed out of pity by Scar. It's just as sad in both versions of FMA. Even thinking about this scene, her speaking, then dying, it just breaks my heart every time.

Nina's tragedy will always be the saddest moment/death for me out of any anime right now.

Trigun

Nicholas D Wolfwood. I find his death to be sad, though not as sad as those in FMA. But given how Trigun is first portrayed, this death is kind of unexpected. Which helps set the tone for the rest of the Anime. A cheerful, silly, and fun anime that suddenly does a 180 and becomes something more dark.

Samurai X: Reflection (Rurouni Kenshin movie)

When Kenshin dies in Kaoru's arms, his wife. I found this to be fairly sad, yet beautiful at the same time.

Elfen Lied

The ending. I found it to be pretty sad. When Kurama takes is daughter Mariko in his arms and walks them to their death.

That's all I can think of right now. I like anime, but I don't watch it often.

Definitely Clannad for me. It's one of the saddest anime I have ever seen.

Then there's the ending to Cowboy Bebop.....I was depressed for several days after seeing it -_-

I regret clicking on the spoiler to find out what anime it was. I haven't seen the anime yet except a couple episodes and now that's spoiled for me. :'(

I don't think this manga ever turned into an anime but correct me if I'm wrong.

A Town Where You Live:

When the guy who the main character was fighting over a girl with who just happened to also be his best friend, forget everyone's names cuz it's been so long, died when we all really expected his surgery to go through. That one hit me pretty hard.

Hello, everyone. Some have complained about the unmarked spoilers in this thread. While spoilers in a topic titled "Saddest death in anime..." are a given, don't forget that not everyone has seen every anime, and that simply attempting to scroll past the spoilers may not be enough.

Label your spoilers, guys. That includes those under the spoiler tag. Thanks!

I guess some of mine would be:

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Kamina's death. He definitely went out on memorable note; a hero's death

Fullmetal Alchemist

Maes Hughes getting killed really hit me. Since you always see him bragging about his daughter, you get that feeling that he's a real family man. After they showed how the death affected Hughes' family as well as Edward and Al...

I think one of the saddest anime deaths (Although it isn't exactly a death) I think it still qualifies. Is..........

Yui's disappearance from Angel Beats... It's just so sad how the scene is executed and how everything happens the way it does.

Death Note

Lights death in Death Note was so sad. It nearly reduced me to tears. Just him running down the street and all his memories flashing through his mind. It's so sad. If you really want to watch here is a link.

That's a little different than how it happened in the manga.

In the manga Light died in the warehouse. He started out begging for his life cuz he didn't want to die and Ryuk was actually standing above him. He tried to order Ryuk to kill everyone in the room but Ryuk said no and wrote Light's name in the book explaining to him that there is nothing more to death than utter darkness. Light died rather pathetically saying "I don't wanna die" and whining and crying.

@@ReGen: I looked into it and it never explicitly says that he dies in the end. Just that

he kills the Big Bad and severely damages the Red Dragon Syndicate. There are actually fan theories that Spike survived and went on to lead the Syndicate.

Bleach

Ulquiorra's death was pretty depressing. Just as he was starting to see what a heart was. Just as he was starting to see what friendship means. But it was too late, unfortunately.

For me it would be Nina and her dog in Fullmetal Alchemist, what her dad does to such a cute, innocent girl and her faithfull canine companion,,,

L from Death Note. The poor guy just kind of falls over.

Itachi Uchiha. At least he dies with a smile on his face.

Envy from FMA. So sad!

Oh, I forgot. It's also sad when that one chick dies in Sword Art Online in one of the first episodes, and she leaves the voice message for Kirito! Sad! (this isn't a big spoiler so I figured it didn't need the spoiler tag)
