defaultremix 50 September 4, 2013 Share September 4, 2013 Hey yall so school started today for me and this year i am starting my GCSEs. If you don't know what that means, basically there will be a lot more work. So I want to know what yall do to help with school stress and if ponies help avoid it and why. Azaxx 111 September 4, 2013 Share September 4, 2013 I do nothing, I soak it in, get over it and move on with other shit that I've gotta do. Ponies in no way helps with stress, it's just a form of entertainment, they don't remove the stress, because it will remain alive until dealt with personally. Limey 524 September 4, 2013 Share September 4, 2013 (edited) No, they don't help at all. They're just a distraction, and in the long term they caused a lot of stress as I had to do all my work last minute as I'd wasted a lot of time I could have been revising, thanks to ponies or other things like video games. An Old Head 4,816 September 4, 2013 Share September 4, 2013 It's simply a cartoon show. It's up to the person who watches it to decide whether it helps reduce their stress or not. You want to be especially careful that ponies aren't going to distract you from your GCSEs, that mustn't happen if you hope to succeed. Although it doesn't seem like it, you're pretty well off with your GCSEs. Relish the easiness while you can; A-Levels are much, much tougher. ReGen 1,466 September 4, 2013 Share September 4, 2013 (edited) Um... not really? I mean, it depends. If ponies help with your stress in general, then yeah, they help with school-related stress. At least, that's what I think. Just be sure it doesn't distract you from your studies and whatnot. Fluttershyfan94 5,742 September 4, 2013 Share September 4, 2013 In my case it does, although for me school isn't really the hardest so it's not like I feel too much stress but when I do. MLP always helps me get rid of that stress although I usually just go for a drive to get rid of my stress. Mr F 1,522 September 4, 2013 Share September 4, 2013 It distracts me from thinking about it school. That is a good thing, it does not affect my grades. It does not help forever, but gives me some sort of entertainment. (and some cool people to talk with) (Really cool signature)
Scootalove 10,689 September 4, 2013 Share September 4, 2013 The show relieves stress in it's own way, and I get over school stress since I'm used to it 5 days a week. It depends on what relieves your stress. Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
defaultremix 50 September 4, 2013 Author Share September 4, 2013 Thx. I shall definatly take the advice about not letting ponies distract me. The internet is a huge place full of loads of distractions. Deviantart
Untitled Goose Q 5,137 September 4, 2013 Share September 4, 2013 Well, can't say for school stress personally, as I have finished, but stress in general? Yes, as it helps me relax/wind down. If I have had a bad day one episode is enough to make me feel happy again. It's one of the reasons I'm a fan. fimdash 1,196 September 4, 2013 Share September 4, 2013 Ponies definitely help reduce schoolwork stress, but they can easily become a distraction. I try my best not to have ponies become a form of procrastination, but inevitably it happens sometimes. (I can't help myself, the show is just so awesome!) School started for me not too long ago, and so far I've been able to keep MLP mostly as a stress reliever. I'll study for a good amount of time, then take a good hour or two to just sit back and browse MLP related stuff on my computer, then commence studying. Not sure if I'll be able to keep this up, but hopefully I will be able to do so. Besides ponies, there are also other things that help to alleviate the stress that school brings. Video games, card games, talking with friends, and music are all great ways, but just like ponies, they can become a distraction if you let them. Luckily I have a good amount of self-control, and these things help keep me from going insane when school gets tough.
Mutemutt 773 September 4, 2013 Share September 4, 2013 Ponies are but one among many of the things that help me relax. Just helps me relax a bit and everything works out as long the relaxing is in moderation. I just can't anything done when I'm stressed out and not being able to get anything done stresses me even more, it's a vicious cycle. It's better to just cool off a bit and then come back to work and ponies are one of the ways I can cool off.
~Silver Essence~ 2,625 September 4, 2013 Share September 4, 2013 Honestly? They are a distraction to be honest. But if you want to relax with some brony music and content once in a while, I guess you can vent that way.
FluttershyForever 15 September 4, 2013 Share September 4, 2013 MLP is a freaken lifesaver. I have something to look forward to after I do all my homework. squareyes 153 September 4, 2013 Share September 4, 2013 Well I've already gone through the first year of GCSEs and you probably don't need to worry as much as you think you do. The only really big scary thing is the word "exam" or "test." Once you get into a good routine with your exams and such, you can't go wrong. Here's a better way of putting what you need to worry about: 1. Revision. Revision helps with pretty much everything and at first, you're not really sure how to go about revising (for most people anyway.) For revision I'd recommend going though past papers. I know past papers are annoying but you can suprisingly learn quite a bit. 2. Pro-Activeness. It's a good idea to also get on top of homework as the last thing you need is a lot of it at once. Plan when you do homework if you don't already as the feeling of having to accept not being able to do homework to a strict teacher is quite the burden. 3. Spare time. When you are or are not working it's good to think of a hobby which would get you through the 2 years. Maybe going on an instrument, going on the trampoline, playing some football or going even on the forums. It's something to refresh the mind and this tip came from a person the year above me who got about 9 A*s. So yeah, this rule's pretty important and this is probably what you're looking for to relieve stress. Just remember, you're not the only one going though this. Good luck! Mightymags 1,053 September 4, 2013 Share September 4, 2013 Not really at all. I wouldn't say it adds to the stress either, it just makes it easier to procrastinate. Mostly just a distraction or something to do when I'm bored.
Jamesblorg39welsh 125 September 5, 2013 Share September 5, 2013 Definetly ill come home, sleep, do my homework, then log onto mlp forums talk to you guys watch ponies than go out and do stuff "If you feel the need to treat me like garbage, I'll feel the need to throw you into the back of a compressing garbage truck." "I'd rather "go to hell" for hugging a guy I like then makeout in heaven with a girl I don't." Smarts 1,622 September 5, 2013 Share September 5, 2013 Sometimes. I mean, I have many different methods of dealing with stress. Finding funny pony fan art, reading romance fanfics, listening to music, playing videogames, sleeping, walking, writing, and posting here. So, ponies are one way for me to deal with stress. IF is best girl.
Dusknight Haze 161 September 5, 2013 Share September 5, 2013 I watch MLP episodes and videos in between classes. It's a nice load off from taking a lot of classes at a high difficulty level, so yes, it does help with my stress a bit. It's like how it's not efficient to continuously work through something for long periods of time; taking a good, mediated break and then coming back will increase the rate of your work and the quality of it, too. Applejack > Fluttershy > Rarity > Pinkie Pie > Twilight Sparkle > Rainbow Dash "The fun has been doubled!" and "My sister is speakin' in Fancy!" f(x)= Cax where a=(y2/y1)1/(x2-x1) and also Vf2= Vi2 + 2a(Δs)
RrVPfX9cPtw59FpC 1,304 September 5, 2013 Share September 5, 2013 Yes, I've seen a bunch of school age bronies, and they all seem to enjoy MLP as a break from school. Although it might lower their grades (I am basing this on absolutely nothing), any obsession (Even an awesome one) helps take your mind off things. Nulln 755 September 5, 2013 Share September 5, 2013 It helps me a lot. I don't want to sound crazy or something but.... I like to pretend in my mind that I'm one of the mane six while in school. Twilight helps me get in the study mindset. Fluttershy is when people want to talk to me. Rarity is for when I'm feeling ugly. Rainbow Dash when I'm about to be late and need to run. Guest September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 Work before play, son. Get all your homework and malarky out of the way so you can spend the rest of your day having fun, and that way you won't be stressed out before you go to class cause you'll have finished all your assignments.
