Hay guys, I am gonna try to make this short and sweet…well maybe not…we’ll see where this goes.

 

 

To make things plain and simple, I am resigning from staff and taking my leave from MLP Forums. It’s something that I thought I would not do for a while, if at all, but these things happen, and it’s sad when it does.

 

 

For those that don’t know me, my name is Marco… duh, and I did a lot of staffing behind the scenes, in other words, most of what I have done is not really visible to the public eye other than my art. I used to partake very heavily in MLP Forums; however my activity as of late has since dissipated, then obviously leading to this.

 

 

I joined MLP Forums only 2 months after it opened, and it was only a few months after I even started watching the show, I was looking for a good MLP community to hang out it, and MLP Forums was that. I eventually found myself wanted to contribute to the community and make a difference, hence how I ended up becoming staff.

 

 

Sadly, that ends today. Unfortunately, me and the rest of the staff never really did see eye to eye, the only ones that I did, ended up leaving (so what does that tell you). I am not saying that Poniverse has become a bad thing; it’s just that it’s grown and expanded far quicker than I am comfortable with. Expansion is fine, but in my opinion, I believe it’s doing it very inefficiently, but then again, it’s only MY opinion.

 

 

Be that as it may, I quickly found myself being very unhappy where I was in Poniverse, because…in reality and all honesty, Poniverse never meant a whole lot to me, it was MLP Forums that truly meant the world to me. Yea, the idea of Poniverse sounds good on paper, but the reality is that this no longer even feels like a pony community…yea I know that’s weird, but that’s just how I feel. It feels like too many things are trying conquered at once and overall I just wanted a brony community to hang out and have fun in. Sadly, MLP Forums and transformed into something far beyond that, something unrecognizable from the original.

 

 

Keep in mind, this is not something I have decided to do on a whim…it’s honestly something that has plagued my mind for a few months now, and I have finally decided this is the path I wish to take. It was not easy for me, I felt very depressed watching myself leave. But I know that I would only be even more depressed down the road if I abused myself like this.

 

 

Will I still stay around the forums? I honestly don’t know yet, but for now I am definitely gonna be taking a leave, and I don’t know when or if I will be coming back. But that does not mean you still can’t get in touch with me. Also, I am still a huge fan of the show; as a matter of fact I am indeed working on some new projects, one of which is a fan game you can ask me about if you’d like. So yes, I will still remain very active in the brony community; this will include attending bronycon 2014 (I hope to see you guys there) and doing my best to participate in any projects that come my way. I am just simply letting go of Poniverse as one of my projects.

 

As you may or may not know I also have a deviant art that I will be kicking back into full swing (http://marco23p.deviantart.com/) so be sure to check on what’s going there.

Also, regarding my stream, I will still be doing it, I'll only advertise it a few more times here.

 

This is really something hard for me to do; I really am going to miss all of you crazy ponies. Honestly, I spent most of my time as a brony on MLP Forums, and I have a lot of fantastic memories of this place. Like said, it’s not easy for me to let go, but it’s gonna make my life a lot easier.

 

I just ask from you guys,  all I ask is that, even if you don’t know me very well, don’t know of my work. All I want from you is to always remember me, and know that I always did my best to help this community.

I will never forget what you guys have done for me, you really helped me when I needed it the most, and I just wanted to give back.

 

Thank you for reading, I wish you all the best, and I really hope brighter things are ahead for me.

Breaks are something everyone needs, but I'd encourage you to not try and pursue complete severment of ties unless you were someone who got a toxic taste in their mouth from simply being on the site; something you, one of the most passionate and friendly people I've ever seen, clearly do not get. Transformation and change are not something everyone will always agree with or like. I don't care for large changes most of the time, myself. Regardless what may have happened, I hope to keep in contact with you, just as I assume most people will

You can now spread your wings and be free of the shackles this place, this staff and everyone around has wrought to you. You can go wherever and do whatever you please. You answer to no one and no one should be your master.

 

This was only a volunteer position, and even if you poured your heart and soul into it. The act is not enough, we must all be selfish sometimes, especially to please ourselves.

 

Poniverse will have lost another valuable member of staff due to it's own bureaucracy. But it's their loss not yours.

I just wanna say. It's been amazing, and I'm glad you have come to be one of my best friends via the forums. We've had great times together, namely you harassing me in calls (), seeing you at IRL at BronyCon (especially the memorable dinner, and you making that awesome banner... ), numerous Skype shenanigans, all those streams of yours, ah, it's unforgettable. Marco, you're definitely one of the best friends I ever had, on and offline. I'm really thankful for being your friend, and I hope you don't forget that, as you take your leave. You've done a lot for me, as well as the forums.

There are times when I feel overwhelmed by some of what I have to put up with around here, and when I have things in my personal life weighing me down too, it makes me not want to bother logging in. At those times I may decide to kick it for a while, although occasionally I've found myself unable to resist getting something done and thereby ruining my plans for relaxation (speaking of which, I'm looking at 7... complicated... PMs at the moment x_x).

 

But when I finally do chill and begin strolling about the forum like a regular Joe, it feels like old times to me, for the most part. The forum is still the forum. There are a lot of newer guys, but my old friends are still around, and we still talk with each other like we always have. Your resignation can be a fresh start for you here. Your only concern will be living it up. So being on the staff isn't what it used to be, but your personal relationships don't have to be affected. You know people love you. Leaving the entire forum is overkill, in my opinion. Hang out for a few weeks and take it easy. Give your stress sufficient time to melt away.

 

 

Remember me giving you a few creepy hugs at BronyCon this year? Expect more of the same next year. And I'll be stalking you at random times. I'll still be dropping into your Saturday night streams as well.

I'm glad to see you finally ut your hoof down Marco and decided enough was enough. Having been in contact with you on a regular basis following this... it was clear that it was causing you more grief then enjoyment which is not how it's supposed to be.
 
The time has come to finally move onto other pursuits where you will hopefully draw happiness and enjoyment from whatever they may be. I wish you the best of luck with whatever future endeavors you make encounter, and continue to look forward to seeing you being the same old Attorney as always.

You have friends here, Marco. Despite that you believe your work goes unnoticed (for reasons...) you have actually been a vibrant part of my own involvement with Poniverse. I recognize and appreciate this.

 

At the end of the day, you must do what makes you happy. Nothing should come between yourself and your personal goals - and when a situation becomes impossible to work with, it is your responsibility to make the decisions you need to make.

Marco marco marco.. You are one of the most known users on the forums, even though you have not been very active lately. You have made many many people here happy because of everything you have done for the community. I'm sure all the 100+ users you have made signatures for back in the days would be sad to see you leave. During the second half of the forums' life-time, you have mostly been known for your livestreams, which is something that has made you an appreciated user. Your streams has been quite cool, even though I have just been in them a couple of times as some sort of stalker.

When you say this, I for some reason agree a bit. It may be because it's growing so fast and everyone doesn't know everyone anymore. We are not as exaggerated as we once were when the brony community was younger. Calling everyone everypony and talking pony 24/7 is something I still miss.

 

I hope to see you coming back sometime, however I agree that you should take the time you need, even if that time is forever.

I am assuming that he is comparing what the whole community with poniverse and all are now with how it used to be long ago, when everything was very different. A brony community was something you knew were a place where everypony loved everypony. There were pony discussions all over the place and you could not have a single conversation without something pony. There was a whole different atmosphere and people actually cared about the "Love and Tolerate" motto. Well, most people.

 

I'm not saying that you're new to the community or anything but if you would have been a part of a community for as long as some users here, you would know what I mean.

Well man, I don't know what to say. You did a lot around here long before I even joined this place, and it'll feel weird not having you around like that any longer. Feeling unappreciated is a fast track to unhappiness and frustration, and I'm very sorry that was happening to you.
