I am honestly not sure what defines Emo as a genre anymore, but I know that I do like Emo, Screamo, Post-Hardcore and any Pop Punk and Pop Rock bands that are mislabeled as Emo for the most part =P

Emo is short for Emotional Hardcore, it is a sub-genre of Hardcore msuic (duh). Just because Emo kids like to listen to it or it's something that sounds all suicidal and angsty doesn't mean that it qualifies.

I love these guys.

People used to make fun of me for what I listen to and how I dress (usually a lot of black xD) But just because I like this stuff doesn't really make me 'emo' because I'm really not xD

Well the people around you are very wrong. I'm not trying to sound like an elitist, it's just that labels like "emo" and "screamo" get thrown around by people that know next to nothing about them.
