The End Of The Great Pony Drought of 2013

Well guys, the end is just about upon us.

 

I gotta say, this one has been ESPECIALLY hard for us.  With the reduction of episodes of S3, Alicorn Twilight, and Equestria Girls, this period of non-pony has been hard to sit through.  So, how have you guys been passing the time and how will you pass the remaining time?

Pretty much doing what I always did before becoming involved in the MLP fandom, but with the added benefit of doing things involved with the MLP fandom.

This drought has been brutal and it is apparent that it has affected the forums and the fandom in different ways, but the excitement is really starting increase, at least for me. It has been over a year since I have joined the fandom and now that feeling of excitement is starting to come back and even doubly so thanks to Twilicorn. (HUGE fan of it)

 

Mainly, I have just been practicing in different stuff like vectors and banners and I have been finding new MLP obsessions, like Button Mash. Thanks to the fandom he is now my favorite non-canon pony. It is little things like that, that make the wait so much easier. I will pretty much be doing the same thing until then, only with increased excitement. That is why I hope Button's Adventures episode 2 comes out eventually.

The sudden drought in some of the fandom's activities, will definitely come to an end when Season 4 does start up in November. I'm just working on my latest fan fiction, to try to get my creative juices flowing!

You know when you say pony drought i'm picturing discord snapping his fingers and making it rain ponies.

 

I didn't really get into the show till past season 3.  I think i'm missing 2-3 episodes still not sure which.  (Closer to 6-7).

 

It would be weird watching mlp on tv LOL as apposed to my driod or lab top.

The same thing that I have done since I've being I've joined the fandom. Watching FiM, EqG, practicing my drawing, working on my fanfic, etc. You know the normal stuff...I'll still kind of be out of the loop anyway. I don't get the Hub Network..so unless I look for them online..I'll be out of it until it is available on Netflix.

I've been rationing my ponies, I keep my rations small but healthy so my supply of ponies will last me the season, the drought has had its toll on many of us, I have kept a journal keeping record of the things that happened during the drought.

Day 1: there is a slight slowdown in the fandom's productivity, I let it pass by.

Day 2: we are running low on ponies... the supplies have been drained, luckily I have all 3 seasons downloaded.

day 3: It's only been 3 days since the drought started and I have already finished one episode of mlp, I must ration my pony supplies or else I will die from the drought.

Day 4: I already finished half of season one and the drought is far from over... I wont make it, I'll finish all 3 seasons then die from thirst.

The rest of the diaries are just the ramblings of a mad brony.

I've been passing the time by watching Doctor Who. And then that ended until November, as well.

And then I cried because of lack of just about every good show in my life. And that's when I found the forums.

Maybe its because I haven't been a fan for super long, or because I'm not super invested in the show (I mean, I like it, but its not even in my top 3 cartoons I like) that I'm not really suffering from this 'drought' you're talking about. And its not like there's any shortage of Brony videos and songs coming out on Youtube still to tide us over.

I have been passing the time by posting in the forums, reading fanfics, playing some video games, and doing life stuff. I will pass the remaining time by continuing to do life stuff. The drought is nearly over with the arrival of season 4 on the way. Hooray!

I just did simple things both inside the fandom like watching fan content and outside like playing video games I missed. And honestly I found most of the pony drama this year to be really entertaining to watch

In all honesty I can't see why it would be hard on us at all. Yes it requires greater patience than years' past but that is no ardour unless you're not used to being patient (in which case that's rather pitiful). If something is to be chosen between doing fast and doing right, I will wait as long as necessary to see something that will stand longer and weller than my expectations will. I see no reason why it's hard on anyone except those who are actually working to produce the work.

LOL, The Great Pony Drought of 2013, love that name!

 

But to answer the question, I'm gonna continue to do what I've been doing before, conducting large scale battles between Allied and Axis forces (not the WWII version) on Gmod, completing the Men of War Ultimate Collection, replaying Bioshock Infinite, and all that. And by Celestia, you weren't kidding. Equestria Girls, Twilicorn, and a reduction of episodes from the norm in Season 3.....could this have been our toughest trial yet, or is this only the beginning? Luna preserve us all.....

Here's a list of what I've been doing the past several months while waiting for season 4:

 

- Posting on my favorite forum right here. I've been having fun making some new friends and enjoying different discussions.

- Browsing Equestria Daily. They get interesting news almost daily, and I have been enjoying a lot of the fan content lately. Though I don't care for certain staff members.

- Reading IDW's MLP comics. I'm a little bit behind, but the comics that I have read are pretty solid, especially the micro series.

- Re-watching episodes of the show. This is the best way to get my "pony fix" and maintain my excitement and enthusiasm for season 4.

 

And that's about it. I'll continue to do all of this until season 4 starts. We have just under two months to go everypony. Hang in there, for the drought will be over soon.

Enjoying all the fanmade stuff...from music to episodes, fan fics and comics.

 

as a matter of fact, I've been listening to my Pony exclusive playlist on my iTunes for the past few months. Which consists of 214 songs. which includes all the songs from Seasons 1-3 as well as theEquestria Girls Sound track.  The other 190 or so songs are all fan made...ranging from rock and metal to classical and electro. A lot of it even has lyrics to the songs.

 

I'm a sucker for fan made music if you couldn't tell...I've also donated to the Seeds Of Kindess 2.and I plan on donating to Seeds of Kindness 3 in the near future. It's for a good cause and you get some awesome music out of it.

 

I've also found brony made music on youtube and Sound Cloud...a lot of it having download links.

 

 

I've also been browsing other sites and adding to my ever growing library of pony art.Whichcurrently sits at just over 5gb...with 3,500 pieces of pony art

I've had it easy, as I only joined the fandom in late September. But then I got sick and finished all of MLP and Equestria Girls. I have watched loads of fanimations, but I don't really read fanfics that much, as I do enough reading for school.

 

Aside from that, I have the Mine Little Pony mod downloaded for Minecraft, so I essentially bum around at minigames and hope to bump into other pony-crafters, while listening to my MLP music playlist. I've also made one ponies in minecraft video thus far. Then school, youtube, and anime have been taking up the rest of my time.

I've been focusing on other things, like wrestling and the Daria fandom to pass the time. I've also bought Season 2 on DVD, as well as the official MLP Guidebook and the first two volumes of comics. I wrote a ponyfic I'm kind of proud of, but I don't follow fanfiction or music like I used to and I passed on Equestria Girls.

 

I'm not as pony crazy as I once was, but Season 4 may change that. I'm looking forward to it. In fact, I think it's high time I changed my avatar back to something pony. (Nothing personal, Quinn. )
