Oh I think I'll say my favorite is Mudkip, because Mudkip is awesome. I think I chose Torchic on Emerald but if I could choose again (if I had a GBA again) I'd choose Mudkip for sure!

My brother just bought Pokemon X and he picked Froakie, did he make a good decision?

Froakie's an ok decision. I trained a froakie along side my partner fennekin and he is awesome! Although the final evolution is a little weird because the pink scarf is actually his tongue.... But a good choice overall!

I love the fire starters and it's a close call between the first 3 gen of them. But if they had an order, it would probably go Blaziken, Typhlosion, then Charizard. I like all the other starters from the first 3 gen pretty equally, but nothing past that has really caught my attention except for Torterra.

I would have chosen charmander as well. This fire lizard eventually turns into a bad butt charizard, and it can fly! Blastoise and venusaur will have to go extinct on volcano day.

My favorite starter is... totodile. Totally! It's the only starter other than charmander that I actually liked in it's basic form. However if evolutions are allowed than torchic because blaziken is my favorite pokemon.
