Need some help designing a Cutie Mark.

So I'm thinking of getting a OC commisioned soon. I'm trying to base my pony off my real life talents, I am a gamer currently but have a massive interest in programming and computing (I'm that kid at school who fixes everyones PCs). What are some good Cutie Marks in these areas I can consider before I get my OC commissioned? I've already got an idea for a computer mouse cuite mark, but that seems a bit over used...

 

Anypony help me?

This may seem strange, but I would suggest a chess piece. Video games lack presence in canon Equestria, so board games and the like would be the dominant form of gaming. Chess is also a game of thought and strategy, which is applicable in games, but can also represent an ability to think carefully. I would go so far to suggest that the steps one takes in fixing computers could be represented by the precise order of moves in a game of chess.

 

The King may seem important, but has little ability, and needs to be protected. The Queen represents flexibility, the Rook represents a straightforward personality. The bishop could be a symbol of rigidity and stubbornness,  whereas the Knight (which would be appropriate for a pony) is symbolic of finding a way around obstacles and bypassing conflict. The pawn lies in wait, but if used well, can turn the game.

 

Seeing as you could potentially combine up to three, you have quite a few options to represent what makes you unique.

Idk, maybe some computer code? Or um, an 8 bit pony? Some binary numbers? Maybe A controller with binary numbers all over it, idk?

 

i'm not that great at this, just try and think of some stuff, and maybe throw something to be a twist. Just don't make it to cluttered or to big.

Well, if you like I could come up with a few concepts, I'll draw them out and put them next week, (probably just one or two ideas) any color schemes you had in mind or images, styles, anything? cause I will need a little information, and these will be rough sketches, not the complete thing, I don't want to do it for you, that should be your job, because it's special

I really like the idea of a floppy disk!!! Thanks a heap man, I'll send the guy making my OC a message and ask him to make one with a floppy disk so I can compare the two.

I agree with Frith is Magik about using board games to show your gaming side.

 

for fixing things you could have a book with something on it or to either side to symbolize repairing.
