science experiment: is vegetarianism truely the healthiest life style?

Hello, I am Dr. Mr. Critical. I am here today to ask you something that I have been pondering for a while. In my health class a while back we discussed vegetarianism. From the discussion and knowledge I've accumulated over the past, these concepts started to conflict with each other. For example. In my life I have heard people say it is the healthiest life style there is. However, I have found somethings that puncture some holes in this. Without the concumption of red meats, our bodies do not gain the proper nutrients our bodies need to function at full capacity. So I ask you all. Is vegetarianism all that, or is it made into look like something its not? I await your responce. And maybe a new experiment to come.

I have an Uncle who is a vegetarian and he is constantly sick. His skin is very pale despite him being an avid surfer. The family knows that there are no other outside conditions that might be causing this besides him not eating meat. I was taught in school, by a nutritionist,  that you need meat to support your blood cells and various other organs and that only eating Vegetables wouldnt cut it. Then again he was the cliched meat eater.

You eat other things that contains the stuff red meat have, meat substitutes made out of soy beans, vitamin pills, etc. to get the nutrients you otherwise miss out on. Even if I rarely exercise I don't seem to gain any weight on top of what I have, so it must be doing something for me.

I think that has nothing to do with the meat, because you are mainly getting your protein from meat, but there are alternatives to meat to get high protein. I know quite a few people who are vegetarians and they are healthy as can be. It all depends on how you balance what vegetables you eat
