Spike's Role in Season 4

This topic has probably been turned into a thread several times but I'm new here so I must ask.

 

Spike is my favorite character in MLP. Whenever I see his antics they remind me a lot of myself at his age. Not to mention I have a soft spot in my heart for characters who are sarcastic all the time. Not only that, but his relationship with Twilight is my favorite in the entire show. No I don't ship them. Instead I look at them as if they were brother and sister. They come off each other like siblings to me.

 

Twilight becoming an alicorn princess has led me to wonder what's next for Spike now? I mean, since Twilight's destiny has been achieved will she need her #1 assistant anymore? Will Spike leave Twilight's side to find what he's destined to do? Will nothing change at all? I'm mainly afraid that Twilight will feel like she has to hire a more qualified assistant since she's a princess now and will have more important duties. Duties that are probably too important for Spike to handle.

 

What do you guys think will happen with Spike?

Anyways yeah. There are a lot of times where I think Twilight takes Spike for granted. That she's forgotten that Spike has been by her side since the day she was born. Working hard for her everyday with not a whole lot to show for it.

I think Spike's role in Season 4 will still be the same, maybe he will be more supportive of Twilight and always be by her side. Only time will tell right now.

Yeah, he's sort of useless. I don't think he did anything to affect anything that she's done or anything, in my personal opinion.

Spike doesn't exist, though. They made Meg the Meg of Family Guy but, that doesn't mean they were trolling.

Left to twilight's own devices she's clever enough on her own to eventually figure out damn near anything.  the point was spike cut back on the uncomfortable amount of time to figure that out.

IF a friend can stop you from being stupid even by a few minutes (or unless you wanted twilight padding around on all fours for 5 of those in equestrian girls just so you could say we didn't need spike) i rest my case.  that's one example. 

 

There is also the fact spike bails twilight out in lesson 0.  The town was in a state of complete chaos.

Even from a practical stand point spike is the only one who can send letters to princess celestial.

Spike got Celestial of her ample royal behind.  (No small task pun intended).

Hell spike does more than princess trollesia.

Well I wouldn't imagine Spike would actually be his imagination self on steroid. I would think he would get slightly bigger and be much stronger and have a bit more tenacity. He can still have that and have his usual sarcastic, supportive personality.

I'm honestly not too sure I'd want him to have a song tbh. He just doesn't seem like a character that would sing. But if he were to sing, I'm all for it.

Well I hope they address the issue of Spike's family in the series (Season 4 or later), and I hope he gets more respect (hated the dog Spike atrocity they did to Spike)... cause I see Spike as Twilight's son (since she did hatch him and raise him... with help of course).

How about this?

 

With Twilight becoming a princess, Spike secretly visits Pr. Celestia and asks her what he's really destined to be. He tells her about his time being around the manes and how Twilight's lessons of friendship have rubbed off of him as well. He fears that once he becomes too big he'll be forced to leave Equestria and live alone in a cave since he's not like other dragons.

 

What if Pr. Celestia tells Spike that he may be the key to bringing dragons and ponies together?

Hopefully something important cause I think he needs more attention. Maybe a finale dedicated to him or the middle episode of the season

Do you think Spike would feel happier if he hung out with the CMCs more? I can see them letting Spike feel more welcome and he can relate to them since he's closer to their age. Not only that, maybe Spike could start going to school. Maybe by doing that he can start learning more about who he's meant to be.

I can see Twilight needing more specialist help, but I also can't see Spike going anywhere. He and Twilight are such close friends, they will always be together. I think he will give her help in the basic assistant duties he always has, and I'm sure she will seek his advice like she always has.

Honestly, he is the only character I'm rooting for in season 4.
 
All I want to see in future Spike episodes is giving him an awesome dragon role model and for once having Spike giving Twilight a piece of his mind.

there's some series shite hitting the fan at the start of season 4.
 
I like spike in concept.  but i mean... he got two lead roles in season 3 and one straight up sucked,
and one was so, so.
 
So I understand the spike hatred.
we need less of spike at your service.
We don't need slice of life spike.
 
we need epic spike (I think, I could be wrong, tell me if i am).

I'm looking over the blueprints to my new "Spike episode" bunker since he's rumored to get roles in episodes close to the end of the season. Anybody want to be safe from the usual lazy writing of his character this time around?
