writing The Golden Heart

There was no smugness

There was no hate

Or even love

It was his fate.

Like all the others

Who were like him
They grew cold
Their eyes were dim
His heart was gold...
his smile was great
but like the others
It was his fate.

We don't know why
But we do know how
It was his turn
To take a bow
With tears in our eyes
We did wait
But unfortunately
It was his fate

I wrote this poem a while ago for LA. We were writing lyrics and I wanted mine to be on my Papa (grandfather) who passed away in 2005.

Forever I will miss you.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather.

...but I've gotta admit, this piece sounds like some professional Dr. Seuss material!

Good job, man!

Good job, person! :-bd

Thank you, and I don't mind being called man, dude, and all that. I actually say it quite a bit myself.
