(Damn, that's still a lot of players... let me know if i missed any.)

Mentioning everyone since this post should clarify a lot of positioning at Half-Moon pass.

---------------

Kingfisher rounded a corner at speed. The familiarly ominous blue glow seemed to be seeping through the cracks in and around a solid, yet aged wooden door. Moving to fast to slow down, she twisted her head away and allowed her body to collide with it.

The wood was still solid after whatever absurd amounts if time had passed since its construction - perhaps it was enchanted - but the hinges weren't as lucky. The sound of breaking metal was brief - quickly obscured by the echoing thud of the great slab of wood slamming into the ground. Kingfisher rolled forward on her side with the momentum - coming to a halt in the centre of the room. Miraculously, she was unharmed. From her prone position on the ground, she looked around.

The room was a crossroads of some kind - one door remained closed. They had entered from one side - the door now beneath her on the ground. At the opposite side of the room was confirmation of her suspicions in the form on two of Orion's lackeys she recognised, in addition to a third that she did not. What concerned her most however, was the minefield of lightning above her. Somehow, she had fallen in such a way as to avoid them - but she couldn't hope to be as lucky a second time.

A third door to their left was broken into splinters and trailed the electrical stars through it towards what appeared to be a staircase. She assumed that this was where Orion had gone, but why were his crew trapped back here? Surely if he wanted to ensure that they weren't followed he would have allowed them passage before lacing the path with magical traps?

"Buck!" Swore the mare as she twisted to try and find a safe place to move - concerned for her own safety as well as that of her friends. "Be careful, its trapped!"

---------------

Amethyst drifted along with the air of mere curiosity - eager to see what kind of triviality had gotten the ponies so worked up this time.

It should be entertaining.

She occasionally threw mistrustful glances towards the other Ethereal ahead of her - debating whether it was safer to try and take him out while his back was turned. Two of the higher creatures together alone was bad news - if he was hurt, she knew exactly what he would turn to to heal himself and as well as she had managed to survive thus far, she didn't much fancy having to defend herself in this foreign world... and she doubted that the ponies would be any help, even if they brought themselves to interfere in something that didn't concern them.

She didn't take any action though: it was safer not to. The ponies might not trust her, but they trusted him even less. Let them be her eyes - she would keep her eyes open and her magic prepared.

"Huh, look at that..." She smirked coldly as the suspended stars came into view. "Looks a little bit like home.... go on then ponies - what's your master plan?"

Behind the snarky comments though, was great interest. This magic was different - like that if the tainted unicorn it had a trace of Arcana about it... something unusual for a pony certainly - so far they hadn't displayed anything that would suggest that they were capable of learning to do so without outside help.

Even a hint maybe?" He asked amethyst, as he looked at the otherworldly magic with anoyance

(@Whoever is Here)

Mirror stared at the mare. She looked familiar. Mirror leaned in as close to the sparks as she could, peering at the mare. It couldn't be....she looked like one of the bandits from the Temple. But why would they be here? How could they be here? No, it had to be a coincidence...or was it? How would they know Orion was here? It didn't matter. If she was one of the bandits she would make a good hostage, hopefully they would care about their friend and stay back. If they weren't bandits then Mirror could say she was rescuing the mare from the trap.

Mirror reached into her saddlebags for her other bag of bits and poured them onto the floor. Redoubling her earlier efforts Mirror lifted every coin she could see and began clearing a small path through the sparks to the mare. Every time a coin was knocked away it was replaced by another one. In a matter of seconds she had cleared most if not all of the sparks in the way. As long as the mare didn't struggle, she shouldn't be hit by any of the sparks. Just to be sure that the path was clear, she formed the bits into another wall and pulled them back to her dropping them into the bags. A few bits had been lost but that hardly mattered. She grasped the mare with her magic. "Don't struggle, those sparks are dangerous." Mirror said to the mare before she began to pull her through to their side.

Pavisa

"Fisher!"  Unsure of what to do as her friend was separated from the rest of them by the sparks, and as the mare that she recognized as one of Orion's party went to go after her, Pavisa starts looking for a way through the magical minefield.  Something about the sparks seemed vaguely familiar to her...  Other than they seemed like what Orion had liked casting when he was infused with the Litany, she almost felt like they were more familiar than that.  But, it wasn't a good time to think about that now.

She noticed the changeling was also on the other side of the room - proof enough for her that Orion was here, even if she didn't see him just yet.  Concern for Kingfisher overwhelming her sense of caution, Pavisa says back to the others "Be careful, don't touch the sparks, and let me go first."  She would have said 'stay here', but she knew by now that nopony in the group would have listened if she'd said as much.

Carefully trying to watch how the magical sparks drifted, Pavisa slowly steps forward into the trapped room and starts trying to make her way to the other side.

Zintiik

"Oh sweet Queen Chrysalis, this is JUST what we needed..."  The changeling's wings buzz unhappily at the sight of the others, trying to think of anything he could do.  Changing into Tactic Wind to try and hide would likely only make matters worse - that group knew Tactic as a coward who had abandoned them after they'd lost Captain Redwave on the way to the falls.  That same captain who had proceeded to beat up Zintiik inside the Litany chamber...

The changeling glances towards the staircase, half wishing Orion would come back down and tell him what to do.  When that didn't seem like a likely plan, he instead flies up as close to the ceiling as he can get without touching any of the sparks.  The ponies in that group didn't exactly like him, and he planned to be far out of the reach of their hooves before they got across the room...  Mirror and Denarius would be fine.  Right?

Amethyst Void

@,

Amethyst pulled an annoyed face at the pony's assessment if her and flitted towards the edge of the field if stars with a curious expression. Reaching out a hoof, she prodded one experimentally.

"Ouch!"

Energy shot through her system - both magic and electricity conflicting with her physical and Ethereal parts as she shuddered and recoiled - flitting through the air once again just before her head collided with the wall behind her. Appearing beside the idiot pony again, she gave him the very best advice that she could.

"Throw yourself into them! That's what you ponies are into isn't it? Heroic sacrifice?" She rolled her eyes - the light around her body dim after the reaction but slowly recovering, "They hurt. Don't touch them."

---------------

Kingfisher.

@@SilverHeart,

Naturally as she was pulled towards the wrong group on ponies, Kingfisher did exactly as they asked. Or rather, the exact opposite. Kicking out, she snatched for her cutlass with her mouth and attempted to use it to anchor herself down.

Unfortunately, this proved ineffective on the stone brick floor. More unfortunately, her erratic movements only let to one of the sparks firmly making contact with her flank.

"Aaah, Buckin' sisters of mercy!" Yelped the mare as her coat stood on end - electricity burning at her for the briefest moment as her muscles numbed and convulsed. "Let go o' me 'for I make ya, Witch!"

ronin looked at her with worry "that zap looked pretty nasty. are you injured?" He asked with concern in his voice. He'd only just met her and yet he was already this 'attached' to her. He didn't want to become some kind of lovesick stallion, but he did want to help her. He hated seeing any friend of his injured in such a way. Edited by ~chaotic biscuit~

Crimson cursed and watched helplessly as Kingfisher was separated from the group by the strange sparks, only to be dragged off by one of Orion's little friends. "Hey! Put her down! Where are you taking her?!" he asked, trotting forward, but stopping just before touching the electricity. His eyes widened. "This...isn't electricity? Damn! It's some kind of strange magical electricity...I can't touch it!" he thought, scanning the room for some way around the mess of magic.

Pavisa

@

Upon hearing Kingfisher cry out, Pavisa let her worry overcome her sense of caution and she leapt forward into the room.  "Fisher!"  Practically crashing into one of the sparks, the mare cries out and recoils away from it.  Some part of her remembered a time when Orion had struck her with a similar spell - what was it with her and electricity on this adventure?

Now surrounded by the sparks herself, Pavisa groans and shuts her eyes.  Come on...  You've got to do SOMETHING!  If you can't protect your best friend, why the hell are you here!?  Pavisa's horn starts to glow, again in response to her emotions rather than as an actual spell, attempting to move the sparks out of her way.  These sparks were from the power of the Litany - how would they react to the power from the Litany pedestal?

Midnight Sky

Midnight looked out into the room in interest. The lightning magic seemed very similar to the lightning that Blizzard had told him that Orion used, but this was set up like a trap rather than an attack. And when the pony from Orion's group began dragging Fisher away, Midnight was very tempted to go out and try and save her, but his magic was still to low for comfort. "This isn't good, my magic hasn't recovered from our fight with the Litany entity! All I can do is teleport to Fisher's side once she's not in the middle of that magical mess." Midnight said in frustration. If only he could get a full meal and a good night's rest, then he would be able to deal with this trap and they could be on their way. After all, if it came down to it he was sure they could beat the pony and the changeling in a fight, though the third pony was a mystery Midnight was fairly certain one pony wouldn't be able to beat them very easily.

Frost fell back as the monster, or whatever the hell it was, grabbed onto Kingfisher. He quickly rose to his hooves and hesitated a moment, trying to think what to do. Buck..buck buck buck, what do I do? he thought as his eyes drifted back to his quiver of arrows, each was infused with magic that he powered with his horn, but he wasn't sure if it would do anything to the creature before him, and there was a risk that the arrow could hit Kingfisher if he was reckless. He pulled out an arrow and drew it back in his bow, aiming at the monster, his horn and the arrow starting to glow. I hope this works... he thought, waiting to release his grasp on the arrow.

Mirror Image

@, (@And then Everyone Else)

It seems that she had her answer, these were definitely the same ponies from before. Sunshine's brother, Midnight Sky, was with them. Not to mention a few other familiar faces. This was bad, it looked like there were even more of them than before. With Zintiik as weak and injured as he was and without Orion or Scribbler the chances of winning any real confrontation against them were slim. Unless Denarius could truly hold his own here.

Swearing under her breath Mirror put more effort into dragging the mare, as she did so she cast another spell on her to keep her from fighting back. "Please stop struggling, you're only going to hurt yourself." Mirror said as her spell began to take affect.

"STOP!" Mirror yelled, her voice sounded callous. She lifted Kingfisher up into the air so everypony could watch the spell at work, "Just stop....I don't want to hurt her...but I will hurt her if you don't back off. Do not cast magic, do not teleport, don't do anything for right now."

Mirror lowered Kingfisher down to eye level. "Please don't fight with us....just ask your friends to back off...."

Ronin watched helplessly as his new friend was taken hostage "dammit! How could I have let her get captured when she was so close to us!" He cursed, not daring to move for fear the pony would hurt her if they did. He was considering surprising him by charging through the lightning, but that'd only result in him likely dying and risking kingfisher's life too. Ronin looked at amethyst "I know we've asked for a lot already, but is there nothing you can do to help her?" He asked quietly, so mirror wouldn't overhear.

@,

It wasn't magic as such. No spell - more like an aura. That would have been what Amethyst would have called it anyway. The mares coat sparkled slightly where the dust from the Litany's pedestal had mingled into it.

The sparks closest to her crackled menacingly. Some seemed repelled, others drawn to her. Regardless of exactly what it was doing, it seemed to disrupt the sparks in some way - if only slightly. It was causing a reaction of some kind...

---------------

Amethyst Void

@,

Amethyst shook her head. as she watched the mare in the shiny suit and the strangely powerful aura. It was unusual for a pony - a lot of this was. It was all still very primitive - but unusually potent forces by their standards.

"Hey, I'm good but I cant get through that without time and energy I don't have to spare." She said - a slight shrug accompanying hers explanation as her arrogant, entertained voice almost sounded a apologetic.

"I could cast a detonation at them, but they would hit your friend too. Or I could dispel all of this, but... some of your other friends might suffer from that. This magic has a trace of my world inside it - just a little bit. I think thats why its reacting to your friend and... whatever it is she's doing."

---------------

Kingfisher.

@@SilverHeart,
(And everyone else.)

Kingfisher wasn't having any of it - she kicked and she writhed, even as she was pulled from the field of lightning and suspended in midair. Sweeping her sword about, she aimed for the horn as she had learned to a good while back - the best way to disable a unicorn - when she jerked erratically and felt the blade slip from her grip. She felt like screaming in frustration as it clattered harmlessly to the ground.

"How 'bout you go an' jump off a cliff, witch!" Snarled the furious mare as the spell began to take hold. "Ya couldn't best the cap'n and ya wont best me! I'll... "

Her anger turned to fear as she glanced down - seeing stone in the place where her legs should have been. Seeing the gray stillness creeping up her body. It wasn't like what had happened to Redwave - but it wasn't far off. Her cries turned distinctly more panicked at this realization... after all, she didn't tempt fate like he did - she survived by specifically not doing so.

"What?! No! You can't do that! A pony cant do that! It's not possible, he's the one that read the book - not you! What are you... How are you...? Stop!"

Pavisa

@,

Pavisa's eyes go wide as some of the sparks are drawn towards her - not at all what she had been trying to achieve.  Her coat glows and sparks in retaliation as the magical sparks touch her, but the ones that touched her body wasn't the largest concern.  The strange magic around her managed to offer her a measure of protection against the sparks themselves, the worse pain came when the sparks were pulled into her armour.

She had once managed to deflect one of Orion's bolts with the thick armour around her forelegs - afterwards she had explained to Kingfisher how the armour had thicker layers of a leather undercoating which had protected her from the blast.  The rest of her armour didn't offer such protection, and as such it began to conduct electricity readily as the sparks made contact.  "AHHHHH!"

Her armour lighting up like a candle, Pavisa lunges forward in a panic.  Somewhere between writhing in pain and managing to control her actions thanks to the protection of the strange magic around her, the ex-guard frantically tries to undo the straps holding her armour on as she scrambles forward.  Part of her was still trying to get to Kingfisher even with what she was going through, though she wasn't exactly able to focus on anything currently.  "G-GET IT OFF!  Ahhhh!"

Chaos unfolded before his eyes. Everything was going horribly wrong, and for the first time, Aegis didn’t know what to do. He couldn’t feel his will at all, and he panicked. Aegis was visibly afraid. Especially when one of Orion’s group held Kingfisher up and threatened to kill her.

(OOC: probably my last post for tonight.)

Mirror did her best to ignore the near-death experience of both the arrow and the sword. It took some extraordinary luck on her part for the two to have saved her from the other. She glanced at Denarius, maybe he was being useful after all. "Denarius, would you be a dear and help clear a path through all of this." She asked, hoping he would listen to her. "You too, Zintiik. I doubt I'll be able to hold this out for forever...."

She turned her attention back to the captive mare and her friends. Which should be dealt with first? The hysterical captive or the mare that was pushing her way through the sparks? Probably the latter. She was the biggest threat. But what could she do? If she didn't start managing her magic she'd run out sooner rather than later.

Instead, Mirror turned to her hostage, looking her in the eyes "I...you're going to be fine. Look the spell has stopped." Mirrors horn began to glow brighter as she spoke. Her voice sounded calm and gentle. "You're going to be fine. But your friend isn't. You should tell her to stop and wait."

Denarius

@@@SilverHeart, @, @ Everyone Else

Denarius stared, his dagger held tight, as ponies bounded around the corner. Finally, a distraction from his own thoughts. The odd-mare moved forward protecting herself from the sparks as Zintiik merely cowered by the ceiling. "Oh, there always something new with you two. I would likely presume are relationship with these fine ponies is simply sterling", he chuckled slightly. Watching as the mare took one of the ponies as a hostage, he simply grinned with a smile of approval. Her methods seemed caustic in comparison to the others, what a fun one she would be.

The Odd-mare dragged the hostage along, the captive writhed trying to escape. She barked orders at Denarius and Zintiik to clear a path. Complying readily, he levitated a small amount of the scattered coins, tucking a few into the folds of his cloak they could prove useful later, trying to aim each one at different spark. He began launching them, hoping to begin clearing a tight narrow path of retreat leading straight to Orion.

Kingfisher.

Kingfisher felt the fight leave her body and shift instead to her mind - mental turmoil over what she had caused, over the pain that she had forced Pavisa into. Over the words uttered into her ear - she tried to kick out again but couldn't - her heart wasn't really into it anyway.

"You're right..." She murmured softly before raising her tone to address her friends.

"I can take care of myself, just... don't worry about me!" Grunted the stubborn mare with great reluctance. "Stay there... or find a way 'round or something. Get outta here - I'll find you when I can!"

Surrendering wasn't something that she was accustomed to - but if she wasn't the voice of reason here, then who would be? Seeing Pav' hurt herself trying to help her... they were all too stubborn for their own good! It wasn't so different to travelling with Red after all...

Amethyst Void.

Amethyst looked at the pony being carried away and shrugged.

"That would be the most intelligent option - you're only going to get yourself killed otherwise. And that's just stupid." She commented approvingly as she inspected the surprisingly uncomfortable burn and the blackened patch it had left on her coat. Unusual - it wasn't actually hair, merely a magical form... how could it singe like that?

"Let her fend for herself - don't you have to fix the problems from your last stupid escapade? End of both out worlds... remember? Ringing any bells?"

He said to amethyst, before suddenly charging forward and into the lightning. But he wasn't trying to go for the captors, he ran to help pavisa. Just don't let them kill you until then, got it?!" He yelled through his pain to kingfisher, before throwing pavisa out of the path of the magic and in front of the others. Soon after the pain almost made him collapse, but using his final remaining strength he stumbled out and collapsed. "Maybe... That wasn't such a smart idea..." He mumbled, as his vision got blurry and his entire body flared in pain from the unearthly magic.

Pavisa and Zintiik

Managing to get her armour off as Rhonin grabbed her, Pavisa tosses the electrified plate aside (incidently into more of the sparks).  She still had the thick shields on her forelegs, but she was even starting to take one of those off that was hurting because the leather was wearing thin.  As the others talk, Pavisa glares at Amethyst for a moment before looking back to the room of sparks separating them from Kingfisher.

"I don't care about the damn world..."  She mutters that under her breath before raising her voice, calling out across the room.  "Kingfisher!  I promised you back at the Falls I wasn't about to abandon you - I'm keeping that promise, damn it!  Just...  Don't give up, I'll be right behind you as soon as I figure out how to get across these sparks!"  She points her hoof towards Mirror before continuing.  "If anything happens to her, I'm coming for all of you!  Got it!?"

As the ex-guard rants, Zintiik casually drifts down from near the ceiling, his forelegs crossed in front of him with his chin resting on them as though he were just lounging and not in danger of getting killed by bandits.  He wasn't exactly helping their situation - but at least he wasn't getting in the way.  Right?  He hovers above Mirror, close to the floating Kingfisher but cautiously out of reach of the mare's hooves.  Tilting his head as he listens to Pavisa shout at them, he looks at Kingfisher with a bored expression.

"Man, she really loves you, doesn't she?"  Pavisa's words caught in her throat as the changeling spoke up - had Zintiik hit a nerve?  The changeling chuckles quietly, he fed off of the emotion, it was obvious to him.  And he had no issues bluntly bringing it out in the open with no tact whatsoever.  "Oops, was that supposed to be a secret?  My bad."  Not seeming all that concerned, the changeling decides to hover over towards Denarius to see about helping out the way he had been supposed to be doing anyways.

(OOC: Hey guys, I'm back for one post, I'll be back in action by tomorrow. Hope this is enough to keep going. I just got caught up now.)

Midnight Scribbler

@,

Scribbler had no more words for her, he couldn't explain why Orion's mind was going awry the way it was. After all, he'd only glimpsed the power he had manifested within himself. There was no way he could fully understand what was going on in Orion's mind, he merely knew it wasn't good, and that there was little hope for saving him unless they destroyed the source of the power which had been imbued upon him. Scribbler reached out a hoof, running it down Willow's mane, and attempted to comfort her. "I will find him, and do everything we can to help him, just as I have done. Try to rest now, we have much to do, we need our strength." Scribbler, not having a view of Willow's face, missed her expression. He saw her grip her head, but mistook it for emotional response, not physical pain. He could do little more, and was beginning to drift off. Soon he found himself lost in his thoughts, which faded into his subconscious mind as he slowly passed into the realm of sleep. His exhaustion was beyond anything he'd ever endured, and it didn't take long for him to be cast into a deep sleep. Here, he traded his defenses for a state of healing. If any threat were to crop up, he would be completely unaware, although his energy was now beginning to build again. Given time, he would be back to his full strength, and would be able to truly have an effect on the outcome of this mishap of an adventure.

Clockwork had remained silent, watching as the madness before him took place. He grinned. "How amusing, things are just flying apart at the seams, and this group is so hostile towards everypony they meet. It's a wonder they didn't try to attack me back in Canterlot." He thought, moving up beside Frosty. He placed a hoof on the arm holding the bow, and pressed downward gently. "Don't be foolish, you could hit our own group. Besides, the others have not posed any threat.. yet. I do not say trust them, but outward hostility is never a good way to begin." He leaned in, speaking softly so that the ones in the tunnel ahead could not hear. "Always keep your enemies closer." He said, holding his cloak in a way that the hilt of his dagger could be glimpsed by Frosty, then closing it once again. He glanced down the tunnel, watching to see what would happen next. There was no way Clockwork was going into the magical minefield, not with his metallic wings.

Aegis Dare

Aegis snapped himself out of his panic as Pavisa spoke, and Zintiik made his comment. He walked over to her and put a hoof on her shoulder. “Easy, Pavi. We’ll get her back. You’ve got my word on it.”

He looked over at the other group with an expression of rage, one that looked out of place on Aegis’ face. “Listen up... if you hurt Fisher, then I promise you with every fibre of my being… I’LL KILL YOU!”

@, @@Midnight Scribbler

Frost hadn't realized his bow was still aimed at the events in front of him, his eyes wide, a trail of sweat running down the side of his head. It wasn't until he felt the hoof of somepony causing him to allow. Violently jolt out of his little trance with a deep gasp. His gaze met Clockwork's as he found himself panting heavily. Frost stared down at the hilt of the dagger, then back up to the stallion. He lowered his bow slowly, sweat glistening on his forehead. "...I...I don't know what to do...I feel helpless, there has to he something we can do..." He said slowly between deep breaths. He had never felt this way, he had only met the ponies a few days before and yet now he felt like he had known them his entire life.
