As the first Quarterfinal game comes to a close, we have witnessed what is indeed quite the upset as the first Mane 6 character gets knocked out by a non-Mane 6 character. There were multiple lead changes throughout this game, but it was apparent that once Fluttershy began to sputter, Luna took hold and controlled the game, as evidenced by the close 114-108 victory. Congratulations to Princess Luna for becoming the first non-Mane 6 character to reach the semifinals of any competition, and a special congratulations for her for making it this far at the 2014 MLPF World Cup. As for Fluttershy, I'm not sure whether to call her World Cup campaign a disappointment, since she should be given credit for defeating Scootaloo after people were touting a fairy tale run for her. Well, in any case, she's received the less than ceremonious label of being the first Mane 6 out of the competition. 

 

Now... tonight... We have the first Mane 6 matchup here. Time to feature the Element of Honesty and the Element of Laughter. The two characters last faced each other at the Unofficial March Madness Final, where Applejack bucked her way to first place. Will this story be repeated, or will the party cannons arise and blow Applejack away? Will Applejack's coach @The JLmle have his say since it's his birthday today, or will have another tale to tell...?
