The thing is, Power Up Punch only has 40 base power, but the STAB and it being fighting-type, it may as well be a 100 power move against a type-neutral opponent.

Actually Power Up Punch with STAB is only 60 BP, but each boost powers it up anyway.

Yes, just with STAB, but with the super-effective typing, it doubles it's power, so it's either a base 100 or base 120 power equivalent, depending on which bonus you apply first. Remember, Nik is normal type.

Wow. Zach's Razor Shell does about 20% to Nik, even with the reflect and the +6/x4 defense. Holy crap 

I just did a calculation right now, and the Close Combat from Rune as well as the Razor Shell from Zach only did about 65% or less, with buffs and STAB and Rain included (if they both hit of course)

Aaaaand Close Combat. With STAB and super effectiveness, that raises it to 300 base power, then with the attack stat raised from 125 with power up punch, his attack is now 187.5. If Nik's defense has been raised to 6 stages, then his defense stat is now 140. With Reflect in effect, and using the pokemon showdown calculator, that'd be taking his health down %73-%86. That ain't looking good, especially after he's taken damage from Power Up Punch (which would be a 5HKO) and a Psyshock.

Ugh, Power-up-Punch seems OP, no wonder I didn't get Gen 5 or 6. 

 

 

If you think Power-up Punch sounds OP by itself, you don't want to go against a Mega Kangaskhan that knows it.  Kangaskhan attacks - power gets boosted 1 stage - Parental bond triggers a second, half power attack (which includes the boost from the first one) - power goes up a second stage.

 

Mega Kanga basically turns it into a swords dance that hurts like hell!

It's also similar to what Rock Lee did against Gaara.  It's a pretty common move in anime I'm fairly certain XD  

 

As for my vote I'd say Speed.  I don't really see how any other stat would get boosted by removing weights (If anything as far as other stats go I could see defense dropping...  If the weights are that heavy they'd be kinda like a layer of armour)

I don't watch a lot of DBZ. I was always a fan of Naruto, which begs the question why I didn't think of Rock Lee until Lhee mentioned it. Oh well, whatever. But the physical strength boost, not really, because of the fact that there's less mass behind his movements now, and thus less energy.

If physical strength were boosted that way I still think it would technically be because of a speed boost.  It wouldn't be that he got stronger by removing the weights, but he can put more momentum behind a swing from a shorter distance.

Nik just found a way to circumvent the inaccuracy of Hyper Beam, use Teleport to fire it right in an opponent's grill.

I'm actually really surprised that a +6 Hyper Beam doesn't OHKO a Samurott with only base Special Defense

Basic physics: more weight hits harder.

 

I don't think taking weight off would raise your physical attack.

Exactly. A truck full of cinderblocks is more likely to kill you than an empty soda can, if they are both traveling at the same speed.
