I never bashed it, I'm just saying I heard a rant on it and the machine guy sounds cool. And also, love and tolerance started dying off when season 2 began.

I've played it a few times since 2006. It's fun for the first few weeks, but it gets boring and repetitive fast.

 

My main problem is that mages are generally underpowered. The wizard variants have a limited range of elements (Either ice/lighting or fire/poison), leaving them at a disadvantage against a number of monsters. Plus the wizard attacks are rather weak when you're first starting. Clerics aren't any better - they have a very limited range of attack spells (just the two "general" spells and the arrow spell), which makes it difficult to solo. Every time I played a mage, I kept getting my kills stolen from me by other classes.

What's this about making many different characters though? I like focusing on one more than multiples.

Aureity, I'd advise against it for now... Server instability issues causing troubles -_- Right now, my character is stuck dead due to laggy issues with the servers... I'd wait until the issues get fixed before joining...

MapleStory is a 2D MMORPGin which every detail, including gnats and characters, is vividly drawn by hand. The game world is like a dreamland full of wonders.

Do you think running form a NPC to another is a difficult thing in an RPG? Join Wings of Destiny on facebook, and you will click the underlined contents to finish all the quests. It is wonderful, isn't it?

Maplestory is great when you're starting out. However, once you start getting to much higher levels, it becomes less of a game which you train and watch your characters grow, to a merchanting game.

 

But it was fun while it lasted. The fun started being ruined when Nexon's silly event schedule keep making me stay on Maple longer than I needed to. I just quit the game so I no longer have to deal with a hobby that puts so many constraints on my time.

I play Maple Story so If you guys are looking for me, I play in Broa and my Main Character is a Level 200 Evan, DRGKaabii, and I'm in the Outkast Guild. Our guild is nice, but We Stay Strong though. I have other Characters as Well so I have level 120 Wind Archer, Level 186 Ultimate Adventurer Bishop, Level 156 Mercedes, Level 132 Jett and Phantom, and Level 142 Mihile.

 

There are 2 Reasons Why I moved to Broa. The 1st Reason is that I like to start things fresh from the Start as a Evan, but After I accumulated enough NX Cash via Maple Trading System to Get Magic Guard Package since I couldn't Survive well, and the 2nd Reason was To be My Friend who happened to be her mentor, but We reversed our Roles so I started to take her advice.

 

For now, I'm Leveling my bishop next to level 200. My Friend told me not to Max Big Bang Skill so I'm just maxing all skills on Bishop except Big Bang.

 

Well The Higher level you go, the slower the Training will get without Guld Exp Buff, and bonus Exp from equipment such as Necklace of Spirit and Crusader's Zeal Ring, and Elven Blessing Skill from a Mercedes.

Ah MapleStory. My cousin got me into it for a while. I enjoyed it quite a bit! I got to level 17 on one file but after that it started to get a bit repetitive for my tastes. ""

 

I think they've done a great job of creating the world though! It's very vast and is mapped quite well. Too bad it doesn't have that much of an exploration option though, due to level limits and such.

Maplestory is not a game I would recommend to people. There are better ways to spend your spare time... Maplestory eats up too much time. There are other games that won't make you want to keep playing the game at inconvenient times, and other games that won't try so hard to make you spend money on it.

Ah memeorys. I used to play this game ALOT. Last time a played it was... over a year ago? The game was changing drastically. My friends lost interest as a million classes were being added and once that happened i lost interest too. Unbelievably my highest was level 130 something Hero.

I wonder how its been... i bet Nexon added 10 more classes and 3 more crafting systems and 5 more worlds and 5 more areas.

What computer do I have to have? All I have is macs (I love macs) but I can never seam to be able to use it. I know that you can not use it on a mac and I have one windos but it is really old. What do you suggest.(I dont want to spend a lot of money on it.)

By the way I love Maplestory and have only played it once on some one else's computer.

Just To give you guys some Beginner's Guide, All Credits and Advice goes to my Friend in Broa

 

If you like Warriors, you can choose over explorer, but once you make a 2nd job advancement, you can choose either Fighter, Page, and Spearman. Fighters are more Offensive in battles, Pages are more Defensive in Battles, and Spearman are More support in battles. A Cygnus Knight Class, Dawn Warrior are like Fighters with Different Skills and they can go all the way to Level 120 after that you can't level any Further also a Mihile Class is another Cygnus Knight Class, but It's a advanced version of Dawn Warriors so They Get Soul Blade as a 1st Job Skill and Soul Driver as a 2nd Job Skill so their Skills are Different than Dawn Warriors. A Legend Class, Aran is a powerful Class, but Specialize in Polearms only. A Resistance Class, Demon Slayer has High HP, but doesn't require MP instead They Use souls to use skills with and the weapons they use are 1-handed maces and axes also they hardly use any HP potions and food because of the skills that heals them. The Stat build for Warriors is STR and DEX.

 

If you like Mages, you can choose explorer, but As you make 2nd job advancement, you can choose Fire/Poison, Ice/Lightning, and Healer. Fire/Poison isn't that good as I Know and/or doesn't have good mobbing skills. Ice/Lightning has good mobbing skills such as Thunderbolt, Ice Strike, and Chain Lightning, Healers are more support also they level faster and get party invites easily, but With Phantoms released, It would be tough to get the party invites also They Specializes in Holy Elemental. A Cygnus Knight Class, Blaze Wizard Specialize in Fire Elemental Skills only. A Legend Class, Evan are powerful, but they specialize in Fire Elemental Skills Such as Flame Wheel and Blaze. Flame Wheel has long Range Mobbing Skill and Blaze has the same effect as Chain Lightning, but has Fire Element, Ignore def, and Stun effects. Later on in the update which is Tempest, There Will be Luminous Class which it specialize light and dark skills and how you play the job is that you can either choose light or dark paths and the path you choose will affect the 1st job skills including all other skills that are affected by the path including the Storyline of that path. If you like both Warrior & Mage Class, A resistance class, Battle Mage can do Close Combat and they can only fight with Staves. The good part about battles mages is that they can use auras which is Stackable for now as well as Blood Drain Skill. The Stat build for mage jobs is INT and LUK.

 

If you like Archers, You can choose either Hunter or Marksman. Hunters specialize in Bows, but they have good mobbing skill and not that powerful. Marksman specializes in Crossbows, but they don't have a good mobbing skill. Both Hunter and Marksman have a spirit link skill so according to the adjustment, You don't need to use Phoenix or Frostprey for a Spirit Link Skill. A Cygnus Knight, Wind Archer is the same as Hunters, but they specialize in Wind Skills such as Storm Spike and Wind Piercing. A Legend Class, Mercedes can use dual bowguns and Magic Arrows. They have good mobbing skills, and mobility. A Resistant Class, Wild Hunter are like Marksman, but they have their own mount skill also they attack faster while mounted. The Stat build for Archers is DEX and STR Please Note That when using Regular Bows and Crossbows on Mercedes, you can't use Certain Skills however they can attack without using the arrows for bows and crossbows.

 

If you like Thieves, you can choose either Bandit, Night Lord, or Dual blade. Bandits specialize in Daggers, but they can also use a sub-equipment such as Shields and Khanjars. Night Lord Specialize in Claws, but they use throwing stars as a weapon. Dual Blades are like bandits, but they use kataras as a sub-equipment to be more powerful enough and use skills in battles. A Cygnus Knight, Shadow Walker are the same as Night Lords. A Legend Class, Phantom can use canes as a Main Weapon and Cards as a sub-weapon also they steal skills, but some skills can't be stolen. To use the stolen skills, Just use the loadout skill and then apply the skill you stole and of course you need to have impeccable memory skills in order to use the stolen skills.The Stat Build for these classes DEX and LUK. For Bandits, some of the weapons require STR.

 

If you Like Pirates, you can choose either Brawler, Gunslinger, and Cannoneer. Brawlers specialize in knuckles, but they're close combat. Gunslingers specialize in guns, but they have a good mobbing skill later on. Cannoneers specialize in Hand Cannons and they have good mobbing skill as well. A Cygnus Knight Class, Thunder breaker are the same as Brawlers. A GMS (Global Maple Story) exclusive Class, Jett are like Gunslingers, but they have good mobility and mobbing skill such as Solar Array. A Resistance Class, Mechanic are like Wild Hunters, but they use guns and doesn't require ammo to Fight so they use a mount skill to fight in battles. The Stat Build for this Class are STR and DEX for Brawler, Thunder Breaker, and Cannoneer, and DEX and STR for Mechanic, Gunslinger, and Jett.

 

Just to Give you guys on the Note Side, Demon Slayer and Mihiles have their own Exclusive Shields, Jetts has their Own Exclusive Sub-Weapon which is the Core, and Luminous has their own exclusive Sub-Weapon which is the Orb.

 

My advice for people that are new to the Game should play as Cygnus Knight before they start the real training and adventures. Mihile is an exception so that's fine. Why cygnus knight you ask? you can make a ultimate adventurer character once you finish the quest for it. Once you make that ultimate adventurer, it can't be made again if deleted and you need to have 1 character slot to make a ultimate adventurer.

 

Just on the Note Side for Cannoneer, Demon Slayer, Mercedes, Phantom, Jett, and Mihile, they have all have link skills. In Order to link the skill to another Character, they have to be at least level 70 or higher to link the skill to another character. Jett's Core aura will Change through time so check oftenly.

I don't know what level you guys are in Maple Story, but I might be the First Person in this topic that I'm a level 200. All the support came from my friends, guild (including the past guilds I've joined), and of course my Mentor ever since I started playing in Broa from a Fresh Start, but it's mostly that the credit goes to my friends including my mentor. Yeah I have a mentor in this game and I was a Mentor to her back then, but We Switched roles ever since I made a comeback and started in Broa from a Fresh Start.

 

I couldn't delete my normal Ice/Lightning Mage for my mentor's reason because I have that Mark of the Beta and I may be the only person that has it. It's too bad that it's not movement within account because if it was, I would've deleted my old Ice/Lightning Mage, Take my Old Name Back and, made one as a Ultimate Adventurer Ice/Lightning Mage in Broa. Mark of the Beta shows proof that I was a Beta Player, but Most people in the game don't have the Mark of the Beta. When I saw a certain someone's shop, He was buying Mark of the Beta and then I would laugh at him because There's no one in Broa Server that has it except me although It's on my Old Ice/Lightning Mage in Scania.

 

I might Be Able to help you guys on What Equipment is recommended to Use, What Stat and Skill Build you guys should take, and Where The Training Areas are. I normally Take the Popular Training Areas, but Whenever Nexon releases a New Class, it makes them impossible to get to the Alien Corridor so the one and only option to get in to the Alien Corridor is to have someone use a Mystic Door Skill.

It's free unless you wanna buy nexon cash for items you see in the cash shop on the game.

Other then that the game is free to play.

I played a bit of Maplestory around that time. It was alright but I really didn't care for the huge amounts of grinding just to level up. I think I stopped playing around level 21. I was a "thief" as they called it but in reality you just threw ninja stars at blobs, pigs and mushrooms. Got old quick.

Those are called Throwing Stars. Attack is varies by what throwing stars you use. Most people use Ilbis, Hwabis, Balanced Furies, and Crystal Ilbis. Balanced Furies were removed from making because of the required Enemies were removed by accident. As far as I know, Black Crystals aren't popular no more because of that reason.

 

The Thief Class you picked when you started the game was none other than a Night Lord path. If you didn't read my class guide before, you should read that. If the Class was Made as a Ultimate Adventurer from a Cygnus Knight Class including Mihile, Your Character would start at level 50, containing the Empress' Fine and Brilliant Set, and 3 skills which are Empress' Might which it allows you to equip your gear at 10 levels higher than your current level, and 2 Cygnus Knight Skills containing Eckhart's Vampire and Darkness.
