I'm confused by rarity's motivation and goal.

Okay bear with me.

Rarity wants to get famous for her fashion.

 

She had that in sweet and elite but than abandoned it because she wanted to go back and be with her friends.

 

Okay.

rarity wanted to become famous for her fashion again in rarity takes main hattaen and she abandons it because she wants to be with her friends.

 

 

..........  So what the hell is she doing?  Okay rarity ends up coming to the conclusion the most important thing in her life is her friend ship (just like AJ did with flutter shy back in bats ^^ just felt like bringing that up for no reason).

 

But if rarity is successfully isn't that ultiamtely going to lead her away from her friends?
I mean pony ville isn't a fashion mecha.

 

take a look at magical mystery cure, when she lost her talent the town didn't suffer because of it.  (Digi and or tommy olivers words not mine).

 

Isn't her ambition defeated by her true desire of friend ship?

 

Is it impossible for rarity to be successful because of well, the show?

Lets pretend the show was in it's last season and we didn't have to worry about keeping her around.

would you want rarityy to leave her friends behind?

would all the main six go their seperate ways?

God...that's really depressing actaully to know what's how the show might end.

I reckon that while Rarity's career provides a skeleton for the episodes concerning friendship, I don't think it's explicitly stating "Friendship before career choices". It's more like "Friendship before anything else at all". And she's not abandoning her fame, as you put it; she's holding it off for another time. There's no reason why she can't go back to Manehattan at some point in the future and give it another go - circumstances simply prevented her from doing it the first time around. In fact, with the new friendship with Coco, you can almost guarantee Rarity'll be taking another trip back there. Plenty of opportunity to intertwine it with her friendships

She's networking. While she may not be getting big and famous at once, she is still impressing very important ponies. So she may not be moving into those cities or rising to fame as fast as she wants but she is very well known to those ponies who are very important in her industry.

I don't think Rarity would mind if the fashion ponies come to her and she stays in Ponyville. Plus if Twilight does come to live in the castle that would raise the profile of Ponyville.

Indeed, this is supported by the newest episode and her costume designer friend, as well as Coco Pommel. She's advancing in her career a little more slowly, but she's definitely a long ways off from Season 1.

the point i'm making is Rarity's boutique able to reach the level of noterity? (that the right word? Fame?)

while being with in ponyville?

 

hm or it could be come a chain, that might open the door for the writing staff to bring co co back.

Well she's a big enough name to capture Sapphire Shores attention, who considers her one of the up and coming designers in Equestria.
