Being a Brony IRL

I've been wondering about how many of you guys have been openly a brony like in school and things. I'm interested in hearing about stories or even experiences you guys have had as a result of as some would say "coming out of the brony closet"

I'll start

I was introduced to MLP by a friend (my best friend actually) and fell in love from the start. At first it wasn't a big deal with me but after time things got so much more interesting with these forums and the pony server (lol still can't get on) and TF2 servers and i realized that this is awesome. thing is it's still largely a secret. I've told people who ask but not like my friends, who wear like shirts and things. The way people react is weird. Its not that i want to wear an MLP shirt tomorrow its that i don't want to be afraid to express myself.

Well... I haven't told my family (will happen soon) and not my classm8s, but some of my closest friends know it and are ok with it. I want to get a MLP shirt and wear it on school, I hope it happens sooner or later :D

I'm probably the most open brony at my school. I wear my Rainbow Dash shirt almost every week and a half, I'm rockin' four pony pins on my bag, and I watch the episodes right in the middle of class if I wanted (much to my friends' laughter and people giggling). I'm about to start a club for it (more for charity, but still ponies nonetheless). It's fun spreading the magic around school; I've gotten so many friends into it now ;)

Too bad gangs have kept us from sharing our bronyhood because of a dumb dress code, but I will tell people I trust.

I live in a country where the majority of people are really intolerant and that is why only my family knows that I'm a brony.

Not currently IN school, but it's hardly a secret at this junction.

I have my Bronies, but most of the people in my life either directly dislike the fact that I like the show, or just do their best to ignore my talking about it and hope it goes away.

Yeah. Not even bothered to be fair. My parent's know, don't really care. My sister's always liked MLP, so she doesn't mind.

I have an Applejack sat on my PC desk in my room, and tbf, I'll wear pony stuff wherever. Once I make this necklace I'm planning on doing, I'll wear that about.

I have had mixed reactoins from the people I have told (my bro hated me for a while but now is ok with it, my cousins thought it was cool, my mom didn't really care, and my dad is still in the dark). I recently told my friends about it and started posting pony stuff on google+, they have been pretty tolerant, although one of them thinks I am 100% insanse. No one else really knows yet, although after I get off of Spring break I will turn this article in to my school newspaper and I shall see what happens! (I still have to add in the interview I got as well)

I wear pony stuff usually twice a week. My whole family honestly doesn't care at all, not even my dad's side who usually gives me problems with my hobbies and such, and most of my friends don't care/are bronies themselves, and only get negative responses from one person. Heck, I don't even get any bad responses from the ,popular' crowd, who usually make fun of my friend's and I opinions o__o

I'm pretty dang lucky

My family knows and 3 of my friends know.

Just today I openly asked the cashier at McDonalds if their new MLP shipment has arrived yet. She said no wait 'till Friday. :(

I don't run 'round telling people, if they ask I'll tell 'em though.

Well listen to the expert: Today I had my first class day since I became a brony, and it went swell. I spend it showing my drawings to people and talking bout ponies. Although I didn't announce it to the whole class or anything I didn't hide it either, and I did tell it to many people. Twas cool. I will keep doing, and making works about ponies and the such. I waiting for english class to come as we always get the chance to write silly little stories

EDIT: By the way, when I posted this there were much less people claiming to have positive reactions

I don't own any brony clothing (yet), but at work, the picture on my ID badge is actually the same picture as my avatar. I've had a few people stop and ask me about it.

Also, the wallpaper on my computers/phone are various pony pictures, so anyone watching me using an electronic device can usually tell as well.

I don't go around proclaiming it everywhere. A few of my friends know and everyone in my house knows, but i don't think anyone else does. If asked i'll tell, but i'm very quiet irl and don't have any pony clothing (sadly) so it's not openly obvious.

Well I only go to school part time so I don't really talk to anyone there. I'm open about it to my friends and family though. My family think its weird and don't understand why I like it and all my friends (except the one I converted ^^) hate it and always joke about me having a horse fetish. I don't really mind it, its all in good fun and its awesome to have even one person to talk ponies with in real life.

I can't make signatures.

Got into MLP by finally investigating the whole phenomena, and glad I gave the show a chance :P I sort of have two sides, one with my non-brony friends and family, then the brony community. I've been to a couple brony meetups and wear a couple shirts IRL, but outside of that I don't show it too much.

My mom and brother know, and I'm sure a few random strangers at Wal-Mart saw me carrying around and buying the Friendship Express DVD(used a self check), so they probably know too, whoever they are. :P

I talk about watching it once in a while if my friends ask me about what I did over the weekend, but other than that I only really talk about MLP with my brony friends. BowlArt64 here on the forum is an irl friend of mine (if you didn't already know this), and he's the most open brony at my school. He wears a MLP t-shirt every Friday. I saw someone else at my school wearing a similar shirt, but I've never seen her again.

Everyone who knows me knows. At first it was embaressing letting people know about it, but now it feels good to say. I dunno why, I am just really into it, and proud of it. I haven't really gotten any real negative feedback for it so I haven't had any reason NOT to be open about it. Honestly, nobody who knows me is really surprised, I have always been considered weird.

Basicly, I am extremely open about it now, as hesitant as I was at first.

Finally committed my first name change.
