It's a tie between all the Flying Fortress fights in Ace Combat (especially the Aigaion fight with the four Kottos and Gyges fortresses defending the Aigaion, now THAT was epic), and the final Solo Wing Pixy fight in Ace Combat Zero. Something about Pixy really just hit home with me on a personal level, and no other video game character really connected that well with me. Like if I knew him in real life, him and I would probably be real close to each other.

Gotta learn stuff through denial and error.

Definitely Persona 3's final boss. The whole atmosphere build up, the absolute best boss battle theme you'll ever hear and his arcana quotes truly make the fight. The actual fight itself isn't too, too special, but all those extra story telling elements made this my most memorable boss fight.

I never get tired of fighting the End, from Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater. The Metal Gear series is famous for its creativity, and it really shows in this boss fight. The fact that the entire battle is based on survival instead of fighting is an interesting premise on its own, but with so many different ways to tackle this battle, you can fight the End over and over, and literally have a different boss battle every time.

The battle against Baladium in Klonoa: Door to Phantomile.

... Okay, this isn't a great battle on its own, per se, but it's more what it is and what it does for the game.

It's been a difficult adventure for Klonoa throughout his adventure, but by this point, he's tired, and just wanted to get back to Grandpa and check on the Moon Pendant. And then the asshole known as Joka comes in and blows the house... home and Grandpa alike - to smithereens, right in front of the poor child. He goes a bit further to watch Joka flying off, just for Joka to brag about his victory just outside of his reach. He then proceeds to send out another boss to fight as he gets away, the coward he is.

The battles up until this point have been "epic" and more focused on killing the baddie and advancing the plot. The music and setting alike always gave off a vibe of being ready to kick ass and win the day. But this time, the music holds an epic tone, but focuses more on being mellow and emptier, reminiscent of that this is probably the worst time for Klonoa TO fight. The boss battle is incredibly easy, but I feel like that's intentional, clarifying that Klonoa doesn't really WANT to fight, and wants to finish things as soon as possible.

... Not to say it's a badly-designed boss, though. If anything, it's one of the more unique. The boss puts you on a bridge sent flying back and forward. At the peak of the side of the bridge nearest the screen, you get your chance to grab enemies. On your way back, you avoid Baladium's attacks, and throw the enemies at specific spots on his body. Once he's beaten, the bridge stops going, you run off the bridge, and you head toward Grandpa and his somehow not-yet-dead corpse in one of the saddest scenes ever conceived.

... Yeah, can't find a good video of the original scene. Sorry.

3.  Dark Armor Ventus from Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance

Actually, the story behind that battle pisses me off: Ven's "protection" only helps the Nightmare possessing Sora, and thus, destroys the former's credibility as the latter's "guardian angel." In fact, the whole game is one big "Kick Them While They Are Down" to Terra, Aqua, and Ven.

Did you play video games as a child? Probably! Do you still play video games? I know I don't!

Well, I remembered how good it was to be a kid the other day, and the best part was Play Station!

My favorite series was the Sly Cooper games, and no matter which one I play, my favorite boss fight will always be Clockwerk from Sly Cooper & The Thevius Racoonus. Damn did I suck at the game, but it sure was fun.

So, what's your favorite boss fight?

Jesus christ, I search the forums for a boss fight topic to post that fight for, and you post it yourself, OP.

Oh well. You didn't post a video, so I shall!

Kingdom Hearts 358/2

Xion, it was a nice fight, the atmosphere was great, and it was a really emotional period from the game

Pokemon HeartGold

Red, it was simply amazing with the setting, the intense music, and just a great challenge. It's also nice how he is quiet through the whole battle

Can't think of anymore, I should play more video games

These are my favorite boss fights as well. :)

My all time favorite boss battle is Red. It was also one of my first boss fights ever as a kid.

Well, i've got quite a few, but if there's one Boss fight I liked, it was back in Megaman X.  The Storm Eagle was the best one I enjoyed, and not to mention...........the music, :)

Hmmm, curious that I've not posted here yet. I guess I just find it hard to single it down to any single or even ten favorite boss fights usually.

I'll post as I think of them, I suppose.

For now, I will simply go with the Maiden Astraea fight in Demon's Souls:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9wJVpldUPU

The music, the atmosphere, the fact that it is the end of such a level as the Valley of Defilement, where all the dregs and trash of the world end up, and the fact that if you kill either Garl or Astraea the other will kill themselves. Garl is the only one you have to fight though so if you can manage to kill Astraea you don't have to fight Garl.

So much
