Why are you a brony?

As I look back on the last few years and see just how large this show has gotten, and the fanbase that follows it,I wonder: "What is it about the show that people like?". The easier question is "What do I like about it?" I enjoy it for the fun, likable characters.

Rainbow Dash for her "Slack off,but jump to it for a friend" personality, which I can relate to. Twilight for her fun, knowledgeable, and slightly naive character. Pinkie Pie,though I find she can be annoying,is fun due to her willingness and devotion to cheer people up and make everyone ( or everypony) happy. Rarity, though the whole "diva" thing wasn't a good start, can be very nice and giving, and I honestly feel she learns a lesson in her episodes. Fluttershy for, well,it's Fluttersy! How can you not love her?! She's just so cute! /)^3^(\ ....sorry,got off topic. And Applejack, who I wish I could like, but with only "apples" to go on for her character,it's really hard to be invested in her episodes.

All in all,it's a cast of fun, likable, and three dimensional characters, and Hasbro actually makes me feel for them. I've watched almost every episode. I've been buying toys. Hell,I put up with Equestria Girls! What is it about the show that you like?

Several reasons. Why would I like FIM?

1. The most recent generation isn't torture to the soul.

2. Relatable characters (I might as well BE Twilight Sparkle, except somewhat unorganized...)

3. It has saved my life. I'm serious.

4. Great music.

5. It has a cheerful atmosphere.

6. Finally, female protagonists! (Well, except for... No, not even those Disney sitcoms...)

Really, it's just such a great show. I could probably put so many more reasons.

Well I really like the show, to the point of buying merch, but it hasn't done anything to really change my life. I love the community a lot more.  Us together are the stars of this whole thing, it's something incredibly special, you guys kick serious ass!

I am a fan of flash animation and Lauren Faust. watched powerpuff girls and Foster's home for imaginary friends growing up. Watched the show with my cousins initially and enjoyed it so I started watching it independently. I find RD relatable because in the military a type A personality, athleticism and loyalty are important. The rest of the characters are diverse and three dimensional which is unexpected but welcome in a show for the demographic it was made for.

I enjoy the show and it reinforces good values. All of the references to star wars, top gun, lord of the rings and Indiana Jones etc. Also make me really happy.

I became a brony mostly because I was interested in the history of Equestria and learning about pony folklore. I also liked how the overalll feel of the cartoon wasn't aimed for toddler-aged girls, it's a show for everyone! Any person who watches it will enjoy the female empowered leads, relatable character development, and plotlines that won't make you want to barf like the previous generations.

This show also has a fantastic fanbase who are interconnected as one family all across the globe. Everyone follows the lessons that the show teaches, which is friendship. This greatly emphasizes how popular the show is, because it's viewers actually take the time to incorporate its lessons into their lives and that it's overall a really fun show. I have never seen a fandom where people are actually kind to one another.

These characteristics make me proud to a brony! So.. BRONY FOR LIFE!

I have fun with it.

Pinkie Pie is always good fun, Fluttershy is so adorable, Twilight is so adorkable, I've had a bit of an emotional joyride with Rainbow Dash, ranging from pure hatred to growing to love, Applejack is a total badass (and a bit sexy, I gotta add) And Rarity... Rarity is the best part of the show; she can be funny with her over the top antics, adorable and sexy at the same time, and throw that in with her growth as a pony, genuinely good nature she strives to maintain due to her flaws and extreme passion for what she does, and you've got my waifu ;)

The characters make the show for me, and the friends I've made in this community make being part of this fandom 1000% better :D

I became a fan out of pure annoyed curiosity.

Why? It's the first piece of media that I can not only get behind as a fan, but critique, buy merch, and overall incorporate what this show offers into my everyday life.  Unlike anime (coughStudioGhiblifilmstoocough), there isn't much available to really grasp onto.  Once the show runs its course, it's done, old news, and it's on to something new.  FIM just keeps going, and growing, and getting deeper not only with a fanbase, but in writing and storytelling in general. Just saying "because I love the show" just seems a bit too shallow on my behalf because there is so much more, and not much of it really incorporates the Brony fandom as a whole because other than my internet going-ons, I have no "same-age" friends who are bronies nor have I ever met another brony IRL (well, I'm going to MLP-MSP so that will change this summer but that's 3 years after the fact anyways). So yeah, that's why.

Think i answered a similar question along the lines of "how you became a brony" but why am I a brony?

I love ponies, but most of all, I love how with this new generation, not only uses these brilliantly designed characters to tell a story and share morals, but oh wait... thats just it! The stories are compelling and the lovely story telling, and brilliant animation bringing out great dedication! *Giggles*

But why am I a brony? Because its a representation of how I wish the world could be, a person just trying to make it out in the world and to be the best that i can be, through kidness, generosity, loyalty, honesty, optomisim, and hope (magic). I'm a brony because...I feel like its right for me in what kind of person I want to be, to be the best i can be.

I'm just a silly little alicorn, trying to get by in the fandom ^^

I'm a Brony for a number of reasons:

1. I love the show! Great characters, great animation, great design...MLP is just an awesome show!

2. I love the fandom. So many creative people!

3. It makes me feel like I'm part of something important--something bigger and better than myself.

4. It gives me an opportunity to flex my creative muscles. I can write fan fiction, make fan art, write fan music (or try to, anyway. LOL)...

MLP: FIM is something really special. I hope that, when the show finally ends (WAAAH! :(), the fandom will last for years and years!

The Brony Code:

Humans are a lie, there are only ponies. Through ponies, I gain friendship.

Through friendship, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory.

Through victory, my chains are broken. Ponies shall set me free.
