Rainbow Dash WIP

Here is my latest project (first time doing this so I will work out the kinks later on) of a 3D Rainbow Dash. I had done a couple of etchings and wanted to try to acually (somewhat) make a 3D model as best as I could with what few tools I have available. So here is a pic of this wonderful characters progress. I am hoping to start the painting some time this week. Let me know what you guys think about her so far. She stands about 16" tall and is roughly 20" long.

 

 

I tried to insert a pic of all the pieces but my computer didn't want to upload the image so, sorry for that. But this is what it looks like so far. It is made from a 2x12 and 1x10's (I just cut the tail and legs from this board).

Thanks, neither can I. ended up working overnights again this week so I won't be able to get it painted until this weekend.

Lol, i thought the same thing after cutting the piece out. I thought "Huh, that might work".   LOL.

 

It was tough doing the small part of the wing. My fingers have to be pretty close to the saw blade.

Oh dang O: I've never once did anything with wood that was outside of whittling XD;;; so I don't know how to use a saw table... however, doesn't mean I don't understand how freaky that must have been O___O

Who else uses wood? I've been trying to find others but am having great difficulty.

I'm just learning with wood. I have been wood burning wands and pictures and such. It's the most I can do now since I can only use a handsaw to cut any wood I have. Also use a pocket knife to help shape things.

Once I get used to etching/engraving I want to learn wood burning and implement the two elements.

That would be great. I'm dealing with having only one tip for my wood burner and figuring out different ways to use it, it can get complicated.

yeah, I decided to make a model like because you don't see them anywhere. and I wanted to see how fun it would be to make one and so far it's a lot of fun.
