So I Just Ponified An Entire Musical

Figured this title was snappier than that, though.

The plot? Pinkie (and yes, that IS Neil Patrick Harris) takes us on a tour of all the ponies who've tried to kill the leader of Equestria. Fun times.

This is by far my most ambitious project to date and I am ecstatic about turning my favorite musical into a PMV. I worked on this for weeks and it's 52 minutes of my best work, so any commentary or responses to this are very much appreciated.  ;)

And because I'm curious and because I cared a lot about this, dammit; whose your favorite assassin?

I don't have the time right now to watch it, but from skipping around a bit, it definitely looks and sounds great. When I have time, I'll be sure to check it out, Stellafera... Such good work deserves the attention :P

I have a strange attachment to Byck for obvious reasons, but I also really like Czolgosz and Booth. I found myself singing The Gun Song on the way home from class today, and probably louder than I should have . Not quite sure if I can articulate what I like about Booth. Maybe just how convincing he can be while still saying some very bucked up things.

I don't know what I could say about this that I haven't said already, so I'll just repeat that it's been a real pleasure to watch this all come together :)

Just finished the entire thing and....

Great effects, excellent transitions, near perfect lip synching, and just an incredibly ambitious PMV that I highly enjoyed. Stella, you are the PMV master of the forums alright. I don't know how you do it but keep it up! :)

And obviously Applejack Wilkes Booth is best assassin. ;)

I hate how I find awesome stuff like this right around midnight when I can't take the time to enjoy it.

You may be asking why I'm posting this without having watched the video or read any of the comments. The answer, so I can find it easily in the morning when I CAN watch it.

This musical,,, I'm in love with it,,,

I believe that was my response when I discovered it as well.

Czolgosz's my favorite. He really surprised me with how tragic and understandable his story was. He just chose a terrible solution to his problems.

...This musical makes it very easy to make inadvertently morbid comments.

My apologies but it was tl;dw. :comeatus:

Just kidding! :D My overall favorite assassin was John Wilkes Booth due to a recent trip to Washington, Ford's theater, and all that entailed. The second favorite was Lee Harvey Oswald. That only seems natural as they are the most infamous killers. And of course the climax wraps everything up. But there's a lot more to this PMV than that. I really enjoyed the duet with Scootaloo and Sweetie playing the lesser known would be assassins of Ford and Reagan. Have it your way sounds like (and was probably meant to be) a Burger King parody. Good Nixon impression too. The casting choices were well made and your edits were superb as usual.

And until now I thought your favorite musical was Wicked. What makes Assassins even better then?

1. I've actually seen a recording of Assassins rather than merely having enjoyed the songs

2. I like the music and story better

I would've thought that your favorite would be Flutteranarchist.  ;)

Eh, OK.  I don't know if Assassins qualifies as a tragedy but tragedies generally depress me.  I always hated Dr. Strangelove too because, great writing and acting aside, it concludes with the end of the world.  -_-

Meh, Fluttershy's assassin didn't stand out as much as the others.  I'd probably remember it more if you gave her the low res TV screen effect instead of Rainbow Dash.

I watched the whole thing through, and I was just curious. Who made the original musical? Is it a movie, play or just audio?

It's a stage play by Sondheim, and I used the 2004 cast recording of it. So there's some in-between scenes that aren't recorded here; the real musical is a bit longer. Not too much longer, though. It's still only one act.
