Well, in the case here in the UK, yes I do have a problem with it. It's illegal (I think) to kill horses as food in this country and they lied to us. Would I eat horse meat knowing it's horse meat? No, I don't think so. I don't see horses as livestock, I see them as companions because that's how I was raised. I don't really mind what other people to though, it's up to them. But like i said, the food companies lied to us, that's what was the issue.

It's my third favorite meat by now. So yes, I not just would, I do in fact eat it. Unfortunately, it's rather difficult to get these days.

But I'd never eat the ponies from the show. Eating sapient beings... would be close to some kind of "cannibalism", right? That'd just be wrong.

That is exactly how I feel.

I've never been presented horse meat as a food option before, but if I had the opportunity, I would want to try it.  I would like to try eating all of my favourite animals (excluding the endangered species, for obvious reasons), actually, even though they aren't considered normal food animals.

animals I love to eat: deer, cow, shrimp, most fish, squid,

animals I eat indifferently: chicken, turkey

animals I want to eat: fox, hyena, horse, shark, sheep, possum, alligator,

animals I do not like to eat: pigs (except for in bacon form), catfish/ other bottom-feeding fish (because they taste slimy)

@, Well, some decades ago, it was not that uncommon to eat horse meat; at least where I live. That's simply change.

Oh, I knew that.  It's just that so many people today have this weird horror-feeling about eating any animal that isn't pig, cow, chicken, or turkey.  I just don't get it.

I mean, I understand people being against animal cruelty.  I myself care very passionately for the well-being of animals.  (I consider them my equals and my brethren.)  However, most people have this really dumb idea that death = cruelty, and that just isn't true.  Carnivorous animals kill and eat one another in the wild every day, and we don't consider them the villains.  They also don't discriminate between the ugly/food animals and the cute/friend animals, so why should we?

That's just how I see the world, though.  I guess there are always going to be people who don't agree.

If I was at a restaurant or someplace that had horse meat on the menu, then I would probably order something else, but if I saw some at the store for cheap, or some guy I knew was like, "Hey, want some" then yeah I would try it just so I could say I've eaten horse meat before.

If it is acceptable Would depend on the area and how people feel about the animal.   I would not go out of my way to eat it.  I like plenty of meats.  Cow, Lamb, Chicken, Turkey, Pig, Deer, I have never tried Bison but I have seen in sold in my grocery store.  Of those I like Lamb the best.

I think people have a bit closer relationship to horses and that makes eating one feel wrong.   I guess its just how we classify animals,  Food or companion.    Deer seem a bit odd to me,  Hunters can kill them and eat them but we cannot sell the meat.  (commercially I believe)

I'd rather eat what I wanted to eat, but it didn't bother me when I found out I may have eaten some as part of otehr products.

Also, I'd happily try it in countries that sell it in restaurants.

I'm open to new meats...I had kangaroo, and that was absolutely delicious!

Well who knows what's going in our hot dogs these days... :P

Intentionally, no. I don't think I would ever intentionally eat horse meat, it's not really much of a common delicacy... I wouldn't object to trying it, I'm a bit of a carnivore. Couldn't tell you if I'd like it or not, but after some research, I've found that horse meat is low in fat and tender.

Intentionally, no. I may have eaten by accident before, as it could have possibly been in a hot dog or something I've eaten before.

Though, if asked if I wanted to try some horse/pony meat this would be my reaction.

*sighs in relief as it fully refers only to real equines*

I don't see a problem with it at all. We kill cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, etc... if horse takes good, why not?

I'd never kill an animal myself, but I don't see a problem with eating them. Horse is hardly special compared to any other meat.

Would I eat horse meat? Never, I hear it gives you the trots *badum tss*

In truth I would be willing to try horse, I don't see it as being significantly different from anything else. I wouldn't want to eat it as a result of trickery or mislabeling (as was the case in the U.K.), but I would try it.

Ever ate at mcdonalds? guess what.. chances are you've had horse meat!

Especially during the mad cow disease problems that were being had back in the 90's. A lot of the beef was being supplanted with horse meat at the time.
