Erm, no... Derpy is female as the show doesn't revolve around her, her silliness and gender alone angered many mothers of very young children that still sees the show as something for little girls. Uncle Grandpa is centered around such character with dumb tendencies to catch the attention of a slightly older audience in humorous ways. There so many characters like this; for example, Ed Edd Eddy (Ed), Spongebob (Patrick), Chowder (himself), Camp Lazlo, (Clam, the most stereotypical one of them all), etc.

 

Also, if you ever watched the show, you would know Uncle Grandpa is complete with his own physics that surpasses Pinkie Physics by miles, there were times he escaped/conquered dangerous situations with ease. Actually its safe to assume that he has nigh-omnipotent capabilities and can surely kick Pinkamena's ass any morning.

I doubt that VERY much as the show is made up of mostly female characters. Heck, as we know, all of the mane 6 are female. In a show that is centred around females and aimed at females, why would Derpy's gender bother anyone?

Her clutzy behavior appeared offensive to mothers as they thought it insulted females.

 

EDIT: I can't seem to find a legitimate source as to why she has been censored.
