BayoUni2847 528 March 14, 2014 Share March 14, 2014 Work on our family farm with my father and I really enjoy it. It marvels me sometimes to think that my grandparents moved here back in the 50's, my grandfather took the old barn down and built the one that's here now, then they had 11 kids (my dad being one), then my dad took over the farm. My brother moved away once he graduated but I'm still here since I don't want my dad to have to do all this work himself since my mom doesn't do anything with the farm. I would love to be a full fledged animator and game reviewer one day but gotta take one day at a time.
Redneck 64 March 14, 2014 Share March 14, 2014 I am a welder/machinist in a small town in NC, which means we get called to do anything from welding to installing drywall (that actually happened). I am also going for my BA's in engineering, and i can honestly say 16-18 credit hours + full time job is the hardest thing i have ever done. 1 Those who dare, achieve. Doc. Volt 2,561 March 14, 2014 Share March 14, 2014 (edited) @@copper_coat_poni, i am an electronic engineer student on summer to get money i work 2/3 months in this factory as wielder, and mantenaince/repair crew http://imgur.com/a/k49Tw i fucking LOVE TO WORK HERE, especially on night turns, but i simply can't basically because this factory has 15 employee during the year and 250 on summer (wine factory) during the year i mod car's ECU for garages and fix stuff for a repairsman, i also build guitar vacuum tube amplifier and pedals using vintage parts and schematics (for blues and jazz enthusiasts mainly), not much, just 45% of what the repairsmen take and for pedals and stuff basically i do it for friends and enthsiast, so maybe 100/200 euros a project (i used to street racing too a bit time ago but nowaday it is hard and i dropped it after a big incident doing an amatorial (legal) rally, broke 3 ribs, 2 vertebers and almost got a pneumotorax) Edited March 14, 2014 by Doc. Twilight Circuits 603 March 14, 2014 Share March 14, 2014 I'm a contruction site foreman so I am the boss most of the time. My boss and I get along great. Managing employees... that's been all new to me this round, but I've learned a lot to say the least. I'm not happy, i'm not unhappy as some days it's okay some days an employee has you by the collar ready to punch your lights out. Then there's getting paid by customers... the amount of things to keep track of staggeringly high and keeping peace between employee's has been a challenge. It's given me a new perspective I never had before. A lot of people generally want to know, what IS IT like to be the boss? Cause that's actually what I am now, IS the boss. Although I have to be honest say that I feel I deserve the position and just so we all know, I'm not actually boasting about it or anything. It really is a new thing for me. I generally don't let it go to my head, but when I look at my crew, I see where I once used to be. I actually had been where they are. So I guess when it comes to making it, I guess you could say I made it. How does it feel. You'd never know by looking. But it feels like king of the world. lol 1 For I have saved your soul in the heavens, and now save it on the ground. - TwilighCelunaCircuits

Duster Dawnhorse 248 March 14, 2014 Share March 14, 2014 I'm a dog handler at a doggy daycare. I play with the dogs, clean up after them, give them cuddles, etc. It's entirely kennel-free and interactive so all dogs left with me get to run around or snuggle. It's the best job in the world, I can run Netflix on my 3DS and have a mound of dogs on my lap sleeping. I'm aiming to get my certification in dog training followed by certification in training therapy dogs. My current job inspired me to go further with my dog work. 1 Pacific Ponycon 17 || BABSCon 17 || Anime Expo 17 Panelist/Vendor || Panelist/Vendor/Media || Attendee Tumblr || DeviantART || Twitter
Virgil 685 March 14, 2014 Share March 14, 2014 I've been working as an Usher at a movie theater for almost 2 years now. Started mid April, one week before the Avengers movie, so as you can imagine it was a trial by fire those first few weeks . I work part-time as I'm still a student (and will be for quite some time it seems ). Don't really like my job, it's fine and all that I suppose (decent pay, flexible hours, and etc.) but it's just disheartening doing something I don't feel like I'm really being of benefit to society. Probably why I've been so eager to do more small bits of narration ( I guess I'm partly hoping I might could narrate for audiobooks part-time) and finally wrote a short (emphasis on short) story . I know there's a place you walkedWhere love falls from the treesMy heart is like a broken cupI only feel right on my knees.I spit out like a sewer holeYet still receive your kissHow can I measure up to anyone nowAfter such a love as this? Gyruss 125 March 14, 2014 Share March 14, 2014 I currently work in a prep kitchen. It's not the most glamorous or highest paying job, but it's nice to have income.
Midnight_Magic 72 March 14, 2014 Share March 14, 2014 well sadly I am working at Sams Club as a deli stocker right now, its not really a hard job but it can get a tad stressful, and around the holidays is just downright crazy! banner by Kyoshi
Winterbass 763 March 14, 2014 Share March 14, 2014 I worked at a cinema, I was the person who put the film on, checked the sound quality and made sure everything rolled well. I loved my job, but working hours increased and it got in the way of other things, so I left. These days I re-stock products for a supermarket, not exciting I know. But the change from solo to team-dependent work is really nice, I like the change and I enjoy my job. My dream job is becoming a neurosurgeon or neurobiologist, but that's something for the future, and I'm working hard to grasp that oppertunity.
Scootaloo Is Best Filly 578 March 14, 2014 Share March 14, 2014 I work at 2 part time jobs to tell you the truth. A movie theater, most weekdays. And a wawa(convenience store) during the weekend. As of right now, I guess I like my movie theater job well enough, but, I would kill to work full time at wawa. Facebook: Josh B.
Henny Penny Benny 936 March 14, 2014 Share March 14, 2014 Primarily I'm a university student, studying Writing, Rhetoric, and Technical Communication, but I have a part-time job (full-time over the summer) working front desk at a hotel. I'll have been here three years mid-April. It's a pretty decent job, although to be honest, I seem to enjoy it less and less as time goes on. It's definitely not something I see myself doing long-term. Speaking of long-term, I think it'd be neat to be a journalist, or maybe a freelance editor. I've always dreamt of getting into acting, but that's not exactly a steady career. I've also recently started a job where, one day a week for three hours, I go hang out with a kid who has some form of autism. He's a great kid, and we have loads of fun. Evilshy 5,090 March 15, 2014 Share March 15, 2014 I'm a cook at Noodles&Company. Not a fancy restaurant, but higher class than fast food. No deep fryers to clean, either I like my job. I'm a pretty good cook anyway, although there actually isn't a lot of real cooking since most of the stuff is prepared beforehand. We just do the final stages and then put everything to together. I'm going to be going to a tech school soon, hoping I can get into IT after that. I do freelance computer repair and maintenance on the side, but don't get a lot of clients. Still, it's $50 here and there for what usually ends up being just sitting around waiting for progress bars to fill for an hour or two Signature now 99% less edgy! Avatar tag: shipping 299 March 15, 2014 Share March 15, 2014 I currently work two jobs. My main job is an EMT. I drive really fast, pull people out of stuff, zap them in the chest, and stuck needles in them. The usual. Oh, and it's the best job in the world too. My part time job is fixing fiberglass. Mainly tubs and showers but we'll fix pretty much whatever people ask us to fix. It's all dirty work but it's fun and pays good so I can't complain too much. 1 Sig by the one and only Doc Volt! GlamourDolly 78 March 18, 2014 Share March 18, 2014 I work as a seamstress in the garment district in the city. I love it a lot actually! I get to learn how to do different sewing techniques everyday and meet a lot of colorful people. However it is only getting me one step forward at having my own brand and collection one day. mike_echo5276 49 March 18, 2014 Share March 18, 2014 Some pretty interesting jobs everyone has. I am a contract air traffic controller. I learned the trade through the Army. I missed my shot at the FAA, to old to go their school in Oklahoma city. Cut off is 31 which I hit last year. I love my job, i have survived two seperate layoffs and now just work with my best friend. We have been working together since 2001. There are only two other employees, our facility chief, and the training supervisior. I have to drive 96 miles one way to get to work, but it is a beautiful drive. My friend and I carpool so the wear and tear on our vehicles is reduced. The work is awesome. We provide a superb training airfield for the army and air force. It can be stressful though. It is just me and my friend working in the tower, so all the work lands on us. Two people working three positions can get hectic some days. I will be working here until they decide to close it down. Hopefully that doesnt happen. Been here since 2005.
