Alery jumped at the girl's voice, and had turned his body to bring his hand into an attack before he realized there was no enemy. Trying to act casual, he continued turning his body so to face the girl. As Vulcan quickly tried to get next to Alery, the burgundy haired boy glared at him. "Thanks for the warning Vee... And I haven't it yet. Thing's being a sassy prick. Be surprised if it stayed in the ball. But where are my manners? Name's Alery Wilock." After briefly introducing himself, Alery craned his neck backwards to see the results of the Pokeball.

Upon seeing the other trainers battle and the evolution that took place, Allen watched intently. It was no wonder these trainers were brought from around the world. They were skilled and outclassed him tremendously. Quietly, Allen returned Noi to her pokeball with a frown and slowly crept back while he wasn't being noticed. As soon as he had made it into the trees out of sight, Allen turned and began to proceed north.

What was Elm thinking recommending him to join? These others had trained for years with evolved pokemon against all sorts of gym leaders. They were far more capable than himself...Well, at least he wasn't too shaken about being a low class trainer. He always knew he was. It made him question whether or not Noi even deserved to be his pokemon. All Allen did was sadden her and he knew he did...but confidence was not his forte as it was all the other trainers.

Knowing he was alone as he proceeded north, hugging the trees, a small tear fell from Allen's eye. It didn't matter anyways. Not all dragon trainers could live up to Lance's legacy, especially not Allen. As the day continued on and the path began to steepen, the saddened trainer and his returned Noibat proceeded back to their home, their cage: Blackthorn.

As Stella starts to walk away, the sound of a small scuffle can be heard behind her.  The Teddiursa and Axew were arguing.  After some loud cries and a few tiny fists flying back and forth, both of the little Pokemon huffed and looked away from each other.  As they crossed the gap that she had covered with the boulder, the Teddiursa split off to go deeper into the cave.  Axew, crossing his arms across his chest, turned to follow Stella.  As he walks along behind the trainer the small dragon huffs quietly and looks away from her, still following her towards the cave exit though.

-----Dark Cave (Rt. 31 Entrance)-----

The westernmost part of the Dark Cave was marked by a number of ledges that made it easier to go down than it did to get back up, a winding trail being the only way to climb back to the underground pond.  Of course there were Zubat here as well - they lived everywhere in the cave it would seem.  A couple Paras were scratching at the rock near the entrance, though not moving close enough to actually let the daylight reach them.

A patch of ground along the winding trail seemed to be moving, which may have possibly made it hard to walk on if anyone were going up the path.  A Nosepass was sitting unmoving off to one side, where a Dwebble was poking at it.  The exit to the cave was easily seen, thanks to the light pouring in from outside.

@@Aerodynas

-----Route 45-----

The mountain trail leading up to Blackthorn was quite rugged, even with the recent work done to try and make it more navigable.  It remained much steeper than the short Route 46, with a long river cutting through the center of the Route.  The trail is forced to bridge the river in multiple places in order to move around the steep cliffs rather than cutting through them.

Geodude are a common sight hanging from the cliff walls, and one can sometimes find a Shuckle curled up among the rocks that litter the side of the path.  Off the trail there were patches of overgrown vegetation and large evergreen trees.  Hanging from a number of these trees, Pineco were a common sight.  Up in the tops of one a quiet buzzing could be heard, like the beating of some large insect's wings.

One could sometimes see a Gligar jumping from cliff to cliff, and among the under brush some Durant can be seen moving around the grass.  A Rufflet sits perched on a stone outcropping, watching the trainers and Pokemon coming and going.  One clearing shows the clear signs of a recent battle, with a lot of trampled grass.

In the river a number of expected Pokemon can be seen swimming, mostly Magikarp and Goldeen.  Surskit float along the surface of the water, and a flash of silver may catch a trainer's eye now and then.  Both a pink and blue Shellos were sitting by the shore of the river, one on either side of it, eyeing each other across the water.

The northernmost entrance to Dark Cave was at the very northern end of this Route, almost to where it meets Blackthorne City.

Allen didn't really hear the adventurous sound of pokemon like he usually did, being sure to keep to the trees and mountainside to avoid any confrontation with Skarmory or any overly aggressive pokemon. So many pessimistic thoughts filled his head, slowly becoming anger as the tears stopped falling. Allen then gritted his teeth and reached to his belt. "Graaa!" he yelled in saddened frustration, taking the pokedex he was given and chucking it as far as he could. For a second, Allen didn't even realize what he did before his anger dissipated. 'Let's just...go home' his thoughts mumbled as he sulked all the way to Blackthorn, staying hidden in the trees. He probably knew this path better than most people did.

It took Stella a while to notice Axew. It didn't surprise her at first, as she suspected all three of them were going the same way, but now Teddiursa was gone. "Hm? What happened to your friend?" She asked the Axew, standing in front of it as to stop it from walking further. "Did something happen?" Stella was quite happy about this development. Though it'd be a shame if something had happened to Teddiursa, she only wanted to catch Axew. And if she did, she wouldn't have to look for a Fairy, Ice or Dragon type to combat Clair's dragons. With a dragon type already in her party, she could challenge Clair right away. Even if it was a bit of a double edged sword.

((OOC: I do hope you are okay with this @Aerodynas. I felt it would be a good way of developing the relationship between Lumi and Jason's characters.))

Lumi was following closely behind Allen, doing her best to stay out of sight. She saw him leaving and tried to get Jason's attention, but her trainer seemed busy talking to his new acquaintances. So after getting healed by Audino, Lumi thanked her then, quickly headed towards where Allen went.

Eventually she found the trainer, and so she shadowed him as he walked away remaining hidden. She followed him, and she observed him as he walked. Allen seemed sad and discouraged as he walked through the route. Lumi was surprised when he yelled out in what seemed to be rage, then suddenly took out and threw his Pokedex away. Just as quickly he seemed to calm down. Lumi decided that it would be best to return to Jason and try to alert him of where Allen went, but she then realized she did not quite remember the way back. She was lost.
After several moments of thought she decided to follow Allen to where he was headed. After a few more minutes of trailing the human she stumbled upon the discarded Pokedex lodged between two stones. She picked it up with her mouth and continued following Allen out of sight, and the only noise she was made was the quiet rustling of the grass as she stepped through.

Jason smiled as Muna introduced himself and complemented him and Lumi. "Well, it is mostly Lumi that is talented. She is quite...." Jason cut off as he looked around noticing his Glaceon missing. He also noticed Allen seemed to have vanished from the area too. "Lumi! Allen! Noi!" He called out yet no response came from his friends or pokemon. "Where could they have gone?" He mumbled before turning back to Muna. He seemed to be discussing something with Sable.
"Have any of you see my Glaceon or my friend, the other trainer?" Jason asked both Muna and Sable with heavy concern and worry in his voice.

Axew hadn't been looking at Stella, and thus walked straight into her when she stopped in front of him.  Falling down to his rear, the little dragon stares up at her.  When she refers to Teddiursa as his friend though he chimes up to interrupt her, somewhat angrily.  "Axew axew!"  He shakes his head vigorously before crossing his tiny arms across his chest, again not looking at Stella.

Stella was a tad confused by Axew's actions. No matter. At this point, she just wanted to get to Blackthorn. All this stopping was starting to bother her. "Alright. Nevermind that, then..." She said, tapping one of her feet. How should she go about asking this? Axew didn't seem like the kind of pokemon to accept an offer like joining someone's party. It didn't seem the playful type like Phanpy. Oh well. It was worth a shot. "Hey!" She suddenly exclaimed, fiddling with her bag, and pulling out a pokeball. "How about you join my team? I could use a tough pokemon, I think." She placed the pokeball infront of Axew.

Alery smiled at the girl as he went to pick up the Pokeball. He truly, honestly hadn't expected the Pokemon to stay in, but he figured it was because of how lazy the Pokemon was. At the girl's second remark though, he flinched and looked at her angrily.  "It's a unisex name all right! Like Avery! Or Riley! Just... Call me Al or something... No one bats an eye when I guy's named Jordan but when they hear Alery... Finally, after about an hour of weaving through the shrubs and trees on the route, Allen had made it back to Blackthorn, looking to the usual buildings and such with a dull expression. It had really increased in size from the people moving to it over the years since Gold's victories in the Elite Four. As usual, a few girls passed by with their Dratini and Dragonair with their noses in the air and chuckling meanly as they saw Allen, whispering to each other in their cruel gossip as the continued on. That reminded him that his clothes were still dirty...great... "Home...sweet home," he grumbled, scratching his golden head unimpressed, before he heard an accidental rustle from some bushes in the route behind him. Abruptly, he turned and looked to the with skeptical eyes. "Alright, the joke's over. Whoever you are, come out. I don't like being followed like that," Allen announced, hoping it wasn't anyone dangerous.

Alery flinched slightly at the girl's voice again. Why had she followed him?  He had only told her to call him Al in case they ever met again. It wasn't an invitation to- But the look in Vulcan's eyes told Alery that the Pokemon had been the one to invite her along. "Uh.. yea probably," he said in response to her inquiry. "My main goal is to get over to Kanto though, but I heard the Magnet train is down, so I'm just going to be roaming the region until I can get over there. And yourself? What are you planning on doing here?" Alery had quite violently changed from being annoyed that this girl was following him to being curious about what she was going to do in Johto. Alery had been told he had mood swings sometimes, so it wasn't too much a surprise to him.

"Now come on there's a shiny new badge with my name on it." She said before running off, much to the disappointment of Umbreon who rolled his eyes before following his trainer to Route 45. "Hm. What happened here?" Sable asked seeing the trampled grass. "And I thought I was a reckless battler." As Sable continues on she notices a Rufflet sitting on a nearby outcrop. "Wow another Unovan Pokemon? I thought Rufflet were only found near Victory Road." She says. Knowing Sable plans to catch Rufflet, Umberon gets into a battle position. "No, no Umbreon you've done enough for now. I want to use Galvantula for this." she explains before calling Muna over. "Hey you think Audino could heal Galvantula so I can catch that Rufflet? Axew opened one of his eyes to look at Stella when she mentioned needing a tough Pokemon...  He could see what she meant.  As far as Axew could tell, Stella seemed to need all the help she could get.  As if it would actually want to help her!  When Stella placed the Pokeball down in front of it, the little dragon responded by quickly jerking its head to the side to try and knock the Pokeball away.

Unfortunately Axew had no idea how a Pokeball actually worked, and as he knocked the Pokeball aside one of his tusks struck the button in the center.  The little dragon's eyes went big as the Pokeball opened, and in a flash of light it was sucked into the Pokeball.  It starts to shake vigorously as though the small dragon were trying to escape, but after a minute the Pokeball ding!s to signal the capture.

Blackthorn city has changed a little bit through the years, but mostly because new houses had been added to fit a growing population.   The Pokemon Center resides near the center of the town.  To the northwest the Gym sits up against a small pond.  Behind the Gym, across the water, there is an opening directly into the side of the mountain.  This would be the entrance to the Dragon's Den.

A couple of elders are seated near the pond, seemingly in charge of a couple of rowboats that could be used to cross the water to the Den.  They have a stern look on their faces however, and they don't look like they would carry on much of a conversation.  To the northeast lies the entrance to the Ice Path, with some large construction equipment left near the cave mouth.  The equipment is apparently leftover from recent work done to make the path easier to navigate.

A few trainers are wandering around the town, usually with a dragon type accompanying them, though for the number of buildings in the town it seems quite empty.  The majority of the trainers must be elsewhere.

Entering Violet City from the east, the first thing arriving trainers would find would be the Pokemon Center.  Everything in the town seems to be built in an older style of architecture, giving the city something of an ancient look.  It seemed quite busy, a number of people out on the streets going about their day to day business.

North of the Pokemon Center, the Trainer's School stood proudly on a small hill.  A number of younger trainers could be seen coming and going from it, as well as a couple older trainers that were likely volunteering as teachers.

The Gym was a very tall building located in about the center of the town - it towered over nearly every other building in the city.  All except for a massive tower on the northern edge of town, at least - the Sprout Tower stood even taller than the gym, a small bridge leading across a couple streams to the tower's entrance.  There were exits out of the town to the south and west, both leading to different routes.

"Huh." Stella said, shaking her head slightly, and putting away Axew's pokeball. "Odd. I could have sworn he was going to decline... Oh well. Best be on my way." This was going great so far. Stella had caught two- erm- three pokemon. Two of which were absolutely adorable.

Once Stella had arrived in Blackthorn, she looked around, looking for the pokemon centre. Before she headed to the gym, she'd have to stop there. Though none of her pokemon were really hurt, it was always a good idea to heal up before the gym. Once she had entered the centre and healed up her pokemon, the girl set out for the gym. Hopefully this wouldn't be too hard...

As she looked, Stella came across something a bit more interesting for now. It was the move tutor's house. "Hmmm..." She thought aloud. "I think both Helioptile and Axew could learn some new moves. Perhaps I should..." Stella cautiously entered the house. "Hellloooo?" She inquired.

Jason looked around yet no one aside from Muna and Sable were around. Jason knew Sable was annoyed by his presence so he kept his distance. He looked around the area trying to find some sort of idea where his pokemon and friend went off to.
He noticed Lumi's paw prints on the melting snow from the recent battle which headed towards the route to Blackthorn. Jason quickly thought of the possible scenario. "Lumi must of followed Allen as he left; well either that or..... Allen took her. I doubt that however since Lumi would of made quite a snowstorm if some major fight like that happened. Also, her foot prints look natural so I guess she did follow him. But why did Allen leave? Maybe he was homesick." Jason mumbled to himself as he quickly thought about the situation. He knew he would need a Pokemon if he were to traverse the route to Blackthorn.
He quickly made his way to the still frozen tree trunk where the battle had occurred. It took a while but he eventually found a Joltik still frozen to the bark of the tree. He smiled impressed at the effectiveness of Lumi's attack. Jason took out the last berry from his bag and quickly turned to the Joltik.
Jason valued a relationship with any Pokemon he had and did not want to take the frozen Joltik by force, so he picked up a nearby stone and expertly tapped the ice around the Joltik holding it to the tree; it looked like Jason had done this many time before. He held the still frozen Joltik is his palm and brought it out of the shade and held it under the sun.
"Are you alright? Sorry for getting you frozen and all that. I know it isn't much but here have this whole berry. It must be hard to compete with all your friends for a berry." He said as he placed the berry next to the Joltik on his palm. With his other hand now free he unclipped a Pokeball from his belt. "Now I know this is a lot to ask, but how would you like to come with me? I know you have a bunch of other friends back there, but for now I am alone and could use someone to keep me company. What do you say? I can get you more berries." Jason said as he held the pokeball on the palm of his other hand and brought it next to the Joltik. He expected to receive an electroweb to the face for his audacity of his request, but he knew that this was the better option rather than forcing the Joltik to go with him.

Muna nodded in response to Sable, ready to leave for Blackthorn.  “Right!  Let’s go!”  Soon after that, Jason came up and asked the two of them about Glaceon and his friend.  Muna was about to answer until Sable spoke up before him.  She was obviously annoyed and probably wanted to get a move on, so Muna decided to keep his mouth shut and instead wave goodbye to Jason as he, Umbreon and Audino ran after Sable to Route 46.  They’ll at least keep a lookout for Jason’s companions along the way.

“I wonder who it was?”  Muna commented about the trampled grass.  He hoped to someday meet the trainer who had caused this mess; they probably were really strong and could give Muna some pointers.  When Sable pointed out the nearby Rufflet, Muna perked up.  “Ooh, a Rufflet?  Yeah, what’s up with all of these Unova Pokemon?”

When asked for Audino’s assistance, Muna shrugged.  “Sure.  Audino’s got plenty more Heal Pulses left.  Though you’ll need an Antidote or something for that poison from Wurmple’s Poison Sting.”

“Cooncooncoon!”  Cascoon trilled, obviously in a good mood after having evolved recently.

Muna, still holding Cascoon, chuckled warmly.  “Yes, you helped catch Galvantula, too.  I’ll treat you to some snacks in a little bit, ‘kay?”

Audino stepped up beside Sable at the ready, prepared to use Heal Pulse when needed.  “Dino!”  She declared.  Healing was instinctual for her species, so Audino had no complaints about utilizing her medical powers once again.

Entering into the city proper, Abigail stared at the architecture, "see, this is what I am talking about," she said, trying to direct Alery's attention to the Sprout Tower, "there's nothing quite like that back home. I mean... Kalos has some tall buildings, sure, but nothing that looks so..." she grasped for a word that tried to explain what she liked about it, "rustic?

Walking into the building, Stella would find a single room that would look like it could pass for a wing in a small library.  The walls were lined with bookshelves, and even most of the furniture had a number of books stacked upon it.  Behind a desk near the center of the room, an old woman was sleeping face-down on an opened book.  However as the door closed she grunts and lifts her head, looking around before picking up some glasses off of the desk and putting them on.  Smiling at Stella, she motions for her to come closer.

"Ah, welcome dearie, welcome...  Come ta see if this little old woman can help your precious Pokemon learn some new moves, hmm?"  She gets up from the desk, picking up a cane and using it to support herself as she walks around the edge of the table rather slowly.  Now that she was standing, she would actually come across as shorter than when she was in the chair.  She gestures towards a chart on one of the walls as she continues speaking.

"I can't do my services for free, I'm afraid...  I accept Heart Scales as payment, trainers can find them in their travels usually, they show up in strange places like that...  That old coot Mister Pokemon has a bunch of them too, I bet he'd trade them for anything rare or unusual...  But for one scale, one of my dearies can teach one of the moves on that list to one of yours...  Assumin' they're compatible, at least."

The list was divided into three segments.  The first listed the moves Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, and Roost.  The second listed the moves Aqua Tail, Iron Tail, Dragon Tail, and Tailwind.  The third listed SurfSignal BeamFlash Cannon, and Rain Dance.

@@Glaceon,

The Joltik shivers as it warms back up, looking up at Jason warily.  It wasn't about to trust this trainer at this point - first Sable and Muna had attacked them, then they'd come back to capture Galvantula...  And this trainer had helped them!  The tiny Joltik looked at the berry for a moment, wondering when the trick would come...  When it seemed that Jason wasn't going to attack it anytime soon, Joltik bit the palm of the trainer's hand.  It wasn't going to wait around to get hit first!

@,

Alery grunted in response to Abigail's explanation of why she was in Johto as he looked around the town. Sprout Tower definitely looked quite interesting, and seemed to be a training ground of sorts as well. Watching the older trainers come out of the Trainer School planted a seed of an idea in his mind. Maybe he could become a Teacher for aspiring trainers, or maybe even a Pokemon Professor! He shook the thought out of his head though, since he had more important things to do at the moment. "Yea... Well I need to head to the Pokemon Center," he said flatly, before promptly walking towards the burgundy roofed building.

Stella barely heard what the old woman said. She was far too intent on looking at the available ones. The ones that caught her eye were Surf and Rain Dance, two perfect moves for Helioptile. She was brought out of her imaginary world with a Helioptile decimating it's foes with Surf as Rain Dance made it healthier every turn when the woman mentioned payment. "Oh...!" The girl said, snapping back to reality. She didn't have any of these heart scales, and, now that she thought of it, was also near broke. "Well... I'll have to come back then. Thank you for your time." With this, Stella bowed to the woman, and left the house.

The girl had decided the next thing she'd do would be challenge the gym. Right away. Even if her team wasn't that great, if she only needed two pokemon like she suspected, Phanpy and Axew could probably do just fine. When she found the gym, she slowly entered. It looked rather daunting.

@@Umbreon,

Jason flinched as the Joltik bit his palm, but he was able to keep his hand steady as to not drop the Pokemon. "Oww. I guess I deserved that." Jason sat down and put his hand on the grass to let the Joltik get off if it wished; he also placed the berry next to it. "Well you are free to go if you want; keep the berry too. It is the least I can do for freezing part of your tree and helping the others capture your friend.... The only other thing I could offer is an apology, but I know that won't mean much." Jason continued to remain seated and observed the little Joltik and what it would do. He placed the pokeball he was holding on the ground next to him; hoping to show the Joltik he would not capture it if it did not want to go with him.

He was worried about Lumi and if he wondered if she was alright. For it is unlike her to wander off for this long.

He eventually took a glance at the tree and noticed just how many Joltik there were. "You little guys sure stick together don't you. That's pretty cool. Just like the Sentrets, always looking out and ready to help each other. I can understand why you are upset at me." Jason said to the Joltik.

He decided it was too risky to head through the next route alone. He knew Lumi would try to get back to him soon. If all else fails he could head back to New Bark town to get some help. But for now Jason sat down and admired the area he was in. He smiled at all the Pokemon that coexisted in this little ecosystem.

@@Aerodynas,

Lumi felt bad for inconveniencing Allen like this. She remained seated in front of him as he petted her; she gave Allen a smile as he did so. Yet due to her; Allen said he would take her back to Jason which involved going through the route that they came from once again. "Glaci...." She said apologetically knowing full well how tiring it must be for Allen to cross the same route twice, and quite possibly thrice if he were to pass by to head back here again.
Lumi realized throughout the whole trip here Noi was absent. She wondered where her friend might be; tough she assumed Noi was in her pokeball for now. She found that strange for throughout her whole time knowing Allen; he always had Noi out of her pokeball.

@@Leafeon,

As Stella walks into the Blackthorn Gym, she would be met by a wave of heat.  For a town so close to an area known simply as "Ice Path", the gym was sweltering.  The floor was slightly elevated, a narrow path extending for a short while until it widened out into a broader area that was likely where the battles took place.

Off to the sides of the narrow path, and in a number of holes in the battlefield area, water could be seen running under the Gym.  There were also columns of steam rising from the water, suggesting it was probably quite hot...  Likely where the heat in the air was coming from.

In the far back of the gym, a woman had her back turned while shouting instructions to a group of younger trainers.  She had blue hair and was wearing a short black cape - Clair, the leader of the Blackthorn Gym.  "Come on, not like that!  You lot want to call yourselves Dragon Trainers?  If you can't handle this, how do you expect your Pokemon to try and withstand the training that you're too cowardly to go through yourself?"  The young trainers she was scolding seemed to be trying to see how long they could stand being in the hot water flowing under the Gym - and since her back was turned, she hadn't yet noticed Stella in the doorway.

@@Glaceon,

As Jason set Joltik down in the grass, and the berry down next to it, the tiny bug begins crawling up onto the berry to start chewing on it.  It continues to watch Jason warily as it does, even after the trainer stops looking at it in order to look around the Route.

After chewing on the berry for a little while (and not making all that much progress with it), Joltik moves a little more until it is hanging on the side of the berry.  Suddenly the berry starts to roll, directly up against the Pokeball that he'd placed down in front of it.  A flash of light is the only warning before the Pokeball starts to shake, leaving a slightly-chewed-on berry next to it.
