By the way notice these are all 2D Mario titles, just in case you didn't read the topic name carefully. (I bet this will end up becoming Super Mario Bros. 3 versus Super Mario World...)

Honestly, my favorite is Super Mario Bros. 2. I liked the... Crop harvesting? Mechanic. I also liked the four choices for characters. Really, this game was fantastic in every sort of the word and deserves more attention.

Super Mario World all the way. The first game I ever saw and played.

Same here. My parents bought me an SNES, and that was the first game I owned.

Super Mario World 2 has always been my favorite. I'm not really big on 2D platformers, so understand it is interesting I can even identify a 'favorite' here.

...And yet you left it out of the poll. I know it's oftentimes considered a 'Yoshi' title, but I find that incredibly silly as Yoshi is a Mario character, and Mario and Luigi (and Bowser) alongside lots of Mario enemies are in the game.

Super Mario World has my vote. It was the first videogame I ever played. The graphics were fantastic and have aged really well. It's also the only game where Yoshi has pretty much complete free range without any sort of dumb limitation. He can go between levels, doesn't have a juice limit or any of that.

It also has many versions of it now to add new level concepts and challenges.

Super Mario World, hands down. An amazing platformer and one of my favorite games ever.

Y'know, I've been on this site for almost ten years and I've never had a proper signature. Ain't that something?

Super Mario World. Yes. If there's one game I will play still that is that far back in time, it's that game.

Super Mario Bros 3 for me. I have porbably played through it at least 30 times. I also know basically all the secrets. Plus its my sisters favorite game as well. So yeah. Mario Bros 3.

I'd say I like the original best, some of the most fun going right you can ever have. I'd also say the 2D parts of the SMG games, I mean the games are mostly 3D yeah but the 2D parts in them are great. :yay:

I would consider adding the New Super Mario Bros. titles to the poll as well, a lot of people really like them I think actually and they are in fact 2D Mario games.

I'm honestly not all that into 2D Mario games. I enjoy them well enough but in general I just don't much care to even remember they exist. I much prefer the collect-a-thon Mario games.

That said New Super Mario Bros 2 was pretty cool. Seemed to take a lot of inspiration from earlier games in the franchise. Found it much more enjoyable than New Super Mario Bros Wii which I couldn't even be assed to finished.

Or I could also say Super Paper Mario. The Paper Mario franchise has a lot of personality due to the paper stuff, and in Super Paper Mario's case the pixel stuff. Very enjoyable concept and levels with just as much character variety and personality as The Thousand Year Door.

I sort of hate the regular Mario games

they're just so frustrating and take forever to beat

I guess it doesn't help that I don't have quick reflexes ^^'

I love Mario Kart and Party though
